Chapter 433
Chapter 433 We Could Leave Soon
Warren Butcher!
Was he the Mr. Butcher they spoke of?
Seeing Michael's serious expression, I nodded slightly. But I knew I was just an ordinary person. The reason I contacted Stanley to secretly save him was because I found out he was a police officer. He had been undercover for many years, and if he could be rescued, he would certainly be able to bring a lot of information to the police within the territory.
This was also just a little something that I, as an ordinary person, could do.
As for Warren, I knew my abilities were limited. If I could now find a way to arrest Ezra and bring him to justice, I would die without regrets.
If I hadn't seen Captain Lucas's death with my own eyes, and the deaths of other innocent people, I certainly wouldn't have traveled all this way to follow Ezra here in search of opportunities, nor would I have stayed peacefully. I would have probably looked for a chance to escape long ago.
At Michael's admonition, I gave a slight nod, only able to promise him. that I would do my best.
In the following days, I still didn't see Ezra. According to Marguerite, he was now very busy and rarely came to the mountains. The Venom Roses in the mountains had basically all been harvested. The mountains at this time were completely different from when I first arrived. When I came, the mountains were full of blooming flowers,

but now they had all become bare.
Marguerite had said that once this batch of Venom Rose was sent off, many laborers would be brought in to plant the second season of Venom Rose. The climate here was humid and warm, allowing for at least three seasons of Venom Rose to be grown each year.
Every time it was a considerable income.
Two days later, the collected Venom Rose was to be transported out of the mountain. Upon hearing this news, I contacted Stanley in advance, waiting for Ezra and his group to leave before having the driver take Michael away.
Ezra seemed to have arrived extremely early that day, presumably for a delivery. Having not seen him for a few days, he appeared somewhat haggard, presumably due to being busy with affairs. Seeing him in the yard, I didn't pay much attention, as always, let alone today he had things to do, naturally he wouldn't stay here.
I returned to the room, calculating in my mind, how to distract the two men in black guarding outside Michael's darkroom.
When Ezra came in, he gave me quite a start. He bent down to sit on the chair, his dark eyes staring at me, yet he didn't say a word.
I pursed my lips, annoyed by his gaze, and asked with a frown, "What is it?"
He hooked his lips, "Fancy a walk?"
I paused, looking at him in confusion, unable to help but be on guard. What tricks was he planning to play again?
Seeing my precautions, he raised his eyebrows slightly and said, "I'm delivering goods to Deston City today. If you want, I can take you for a

tour."
I was slightly surprised, but I didn't think he had any good intentions. I simply said, "I don't want to go anywhere."
He lowered his gaze, playing with the ring on his ring finger. I recognized that ring. It was a pair of rings he somehow got when we left River City. He forcefully put one on my finger and wore the other one himself. However, it seemed that he later took the one from my finger.
This was originally just something for acting, I didn't care at all. However, at this moment, I felt that he was somewhat mysterious, as if he was trying to test me.
After a long while, he looked at me and said, "If you don't want to go, just stay here peacefully and wait for me to come back."
I pursed my lips, treating it as if he had just farted, and didn't respond.
He stood up to leave, took only a few steps, then turned back to look at me, uttering a puzzling sentence, "Tabatha, I never wanted to hurt you."
Looking at him, I sneered, sarcastically saying, "Is that so? Well, thank you then."
Hearing the mockery in my words, he slightly furrowed his brows, then left.
Delivering goods was always a race against time. After Ezra left, he quickly arranged for everyone to leave.
There weren't many people left in the vast mountains. Judging by the time, Ezra's people shouldn't have gone far. Thinking of this, I got up and left the yard, looked around, but didn't see Marguerite's figure. I originally wanted her to help distract the black-clothed gatekeeper, but

now that she was gone, I could only figure it out by myself.
Time was running out, so I hurried to the outside of the dark room where Michael was being held. Just as I had suspected, two men in black were still standing guard outside, unmoved. It wouldn't be difficult for me to get in, but now that I needed to take Michael away, I had to figure out a way to get both of them to leave.
Thinking of the excuse Marguerite had used to separate the two before, I hesitated for a moment, considering that perhaps I could give it a try, just as I was about to step forward.
Then I heard Marguerite's voice, "Ms. Conner, you're here?"
I turned around and saw Marguerite, whom I hadn't seen for quite a while, walking towards me. Noticing something off about her gait and a bruise on her face, I quickly asked, "What happened to your face?"
