Ethan’s Vengeance of Love

Chapter 10

As Mr. Knight’s brows twitched, he suddenly said, “Show him Alice’s photo.”
“Alice’s photo?” Derek was startled. “Do you still think that woman is Alice?”
Although he wasn’t on the same page as Ethan and thought that it was impossible for it to be Alice, he still asked people to look
for the woman’s photo immediately.
“It was Alice’s 18th birthday last night, so there was a birthday party at Magnificent Hotel.” When Caleb heard Mr. Knight
mentioning Alice, he quickly reported to him what he just found out about her.
“Alice was at the Magnificent Hotel last night?” Derek showed interest again. If that’s the case, the possibility that it’s Alice has
become more likely.
Meanwhile, Ethan was seemingly startled as well. Her 18th birthday?! She’s so young! Luckily she’s not a minor anymore.
Derek worked with great efficiency, for he got a photo of Alice from his people almost immediately.
In the photo was a woman with no makeup on, but she was so beautiful that one couldn’t take his eyes off her. Even for a person
like Derek who was used to seeing pretty ladies, he still couldn’t help but take a few more glances. She’s really drop-dead
gorgeous. In fact, she kind of looks like Alice from Alice in Wonderland.
“Is this her?” He showed the photo to the driver.
At the same time, Ethan was looking at the driver with his poker face as usual, but if one looked closer, they would find that his
eyes were actually shaking.
After the driver looked at the photo in Derek’s hand, he froze for a while without speaking for some time.
“Is it really her?” Derek widened his eyes, and there was even a change in his tone. Is it really Alice? Did we find the person just
like that?!
Meanwhile, the emotion wave in Mr. Knight’s eyes seemingly became stronger.
“No, that’s not her. Although the woman was quite good-looking, she isn’t this pretty.” The driver finally snapped out of his daze
and shook his head continuously. “This girl is too gorgeous. I’ve never seen such a beautiful girl before. I’ve been enthralled by
her. Is she a goddess?”

“It’s not her, then?” The emotions Derek went through were as though he was riding a rollercoaster. The more excited he got just
now, the more disappointed he was at that moment. He thought that they had found the person they wanted, but they had
rejoiced too soon.
When Ethan heard that, he knitted his brows together as the emotion wave in his eyes faded, but his poker face was
complemented by a brooding expression.
“Can you describe what the woman looks like?” Derek felt that it would be a clue since the driver had seen that woman before.
He dialed the number of the station’s forensic artist and put him on speaker. Then, the driver described the features of the
woman, and the forensic artist sketched them out.
20 minutes later, the forensic artist sent the sketch that he drew according to the driver’s description to Derek’s phone.
After he tapped open the picture, he showed it to the driver again.
“Yes, yes. It’s her.” The driver nodded after looking at it. “This sketch is so accurate. Our police really are something.”
Hearing that, Derek stood up and showed the sketch to Ethan. “Boss, take a look.”
When Ethan saw the sketch, his brows snapped together subconsciously. No one knew what was on his mind, but he suddenly
asked, “Where did she get down?”
“At the entrance of Starry Park.”
“She’s really cautious.” Derek, being the police chief, was impressed by her. She actually got down at the entrance of a park?
How are we going to find her? No one lives at the park.
Even though he was the police chief and could check all the security footage around Starry Park, he might not be able to find
anything since that woman was so careful.
“Wait, this woman looks kind of familiar.” When he looked at the sketch on the phone again, his eyes widened slightly. “I know
her—she is an acquaintance of my cousin sister. I’ve seen her once at my cousin sister’s house.” His memory was so good that
he could even tell them the name. “Emma Woland. This woman is Emma Woland.”
“Emma Woland?” Caleb reacted immediately and asked, “She’s a Woland too. Is she related to Alice in any way?”
When Derek heard that, he looked at Caleb, and both of them got into action at once to find out.

Now that they had their hands on such important clues—the sketch and the identity of the person in the sketch—it would be
much easier to look into the case.
As Caleb and Derek both worked with high efficiency, they were able to find out the few most important pieces of information
before long.
“Emma Woland is Alice’s cousin sister. She’s the illegitimate child of Alice’s second uncle, Elijah Woland. He brought her into the
Woland Family six years ago.”
“Yesterday night was Alice’s birthday party, so Emma was at the Magnificent Hotel too.”
“Mr. Knight, the bag that you asked me to look into belongs to Emma.”
“Boss, it looks like the person that you’re looking for is most probably Emma Woland.” Derek felt that they already had the final
answer.
At this moment, Ethan had the tracker which he took back between his fingers and was fidgeting with it. His gaze was seemingly
on the tracker, but he didn’t look like he was looking at it. He just stared with deep and brooding eyes.
In the meantime, Derek and Caleb kept quiet.
Out of the blue, Ethan looked up. “Take the fingerprints off the handcuffs and do a fingerprint comparison.”
“Who should we compare it against?” Caleb tried to probe, for he could tell that things definitely wouldn’t be so simple from how
deeply Ethan was lost in his thoughts just now.
“Are you dumb, Caleb? Who else? Emma, of course. It’s already so obvious. Do you really need to ask?” Derek felt that what
Caleb asked was just stupid. Why does he need to ask when it’s already so obvious?
Yet, Ethan suddenly said, “Alice.”
It was obvious that he was answering Caleb’s question.
“Huh? Why do we need to compare the fingerprint with Alice’s? All our evidence points to Emma. Why not compare the
fingerprint to hers but Alice’s instead?” Derek was slightly stunned. What kind of logic is this?

“Mr. Knight didn’t say to not compare the fingerprint with Emma’s, but we must compare it with Alice’s.” After so many years of
being by Ethan’s side, Caleb naturally understood the Knights.
“Okay, we can do that too.” Under this situation, it would be of no harm to do another fingerprint comparison. “I’ll take the prints
on the handcuffs...” Derek came to a halt and suddenly exclaimed, “Handcuffs??”
He hadn’t been paying attention earlier, so he wasn’t aware of the issue until now. Since he didn’t know what had happened in
Ethan’s room, he was totally confused. “What handcuffs? What happened?”
At this moment, it was obvious that Ethan’s expression had turned dark.
Meanwhile, Caleb kept his mouth shut and didn’t dare say anything. He didn’t even dare to breathe a little louder.
“What happened, boss? Why were handcuffs involved? Who used them?” Derek was the police chief after all, so his logical
thinking was quite good. “Did that woman use handcuffs on you?”
When he saw how Ethan’s face turned darker and Caleb lowered his head even more, he knew that he had guessed it right.
