Endless (Clarity Coast Omegaverse Book 1)

Chapter 15

I dropped my rope bag off at our house before heading back to the Caruso estate, and my phone chirped as I was parking the car.

VAUGHN

Down on the beach for the bonfire. You’re going to want to get here as soon as possible.

CADE

Why?

VAUGHN

You’ll see.

Forcing my growl into a sigh, I shut the car door harder than was necessary. I wasn’t in the mood for vague games. My first lesson had gone well, but the group beginners class hadn’t. An Alpha who knew next to nothing kept trying to interrupt and correct things that didn’t need to be corrected, confusing the other people in the class.

And because I was a Beta, I couldn’t tell him to sit down and shut the fuck up the way I really wanted to. Not that I couldn’t have taken him, but the man’s instincts would override mine every time.

He wouldn’t be invited back to the center. Before I left, I made sure to put him on all of our ‘no,’ lists. It wasn’t something I relished, but if someone wasn’t willing to learn how to do things safely, they had no place coming to classes where people did.

Regardless, I’d keep an eye out for his name in the community. He seemed like someone who’d stick around and try to impress people with his non-existent knowledge. If he tried, I could step in and gently let people know not to mess with him.

So restless energy moved under my skin. I could do with a good session in the gym. No doubt the mansion had one, though I wasn’t sure where it was.

CADE

Unless it’s urgent, I’m going to the gym to blow off some steam.

He answered immediately.

VAUGHN

You might be able to blow off some steam in a different way if you get your ass down here.

My eyebrows rose. That was interesting.

I changed direction from going back to our suite to heading out the back. The fire was visible from the house, with plenty of people around it. Music played from somewhere, and a few couples and packs in the bridal party danced on one side. On the other, my packmates surrounded Isolde, who cuddled with Hawk like she was born to be in his arms. Miles of pale skin was visible with the length of those shorts and the way her thin shirt tugged off her shoulder. She looked lighter. Happier.

Rowan spotted me and came to meet me before she saw me. “What’s going on?”

“Isolde changed her mind.”

“About?”

He smirked. “Sex.”

All my attention shifted to the beautiful Omega in my packmate’s arms. “Really?”

“Yeah. Still nervous as hell about something, and she very clearly said she knows this,” he gestured to all of us, “isn’t real. But as far as everything else? All bets are off.”

“Fuck.” I shook my head. Relief poured through me. Not touching her the way I—we—wanted had already been difficult, and it had barely been two days. Weeks would have been torture.

“We haven’t had a chance to talk without her, but I’m game to treat her like she’s ours. Show her what that’s like. Then, after the wedding, we tell her. By then, she’ll know we’re not just saying it because she’s a client or because she thinks she’s paying us.”

“Fine with me.”

I couldn’t stay away from her anymore. Joining them, Isolde looked up and saw me, a smile coming to her face. “There you are.”

“Here I am.”

“I missed you.” She scrambled out of Hawk’s arms to stand and throw hers around my neck. A deep sigh left her when I pulled her close, like I was exactly what she needed.

Fuck, a man could get used to that.

The sweetness of her scent mixed with a lower, darker fragrance, and I chuckled. “I see you’ve discovered Rowan’s hobby.”

“I did. But he didn’t corrupt me. You think I grew up in Clarity Coast and didn’t get high?” Then she grinned, rising up on her toes so our lips were barely an inch apart. “Don’t worry, though. I’m not that high.”

“They told me what you said. Is it true?”

“That I want you all to fuck me into next week? Yes.”

I tilted my head, studying her face. She was more open, but correct. She wasn’t so high she didn’t have control of her body or senses. “What changed your mind?”

“Ocean. Trinity. Myself realizing just how fucking sad I’ve been. So I’m choosing something different. I don’t fucking trust myself, but it’s okay, because I think I can trust the five of you. Whatever happens, I’ll deal with it.”

“What would happen?”

Isolde laid her head on my chest and looked out at the sea. “I fell for him in a month, and you treat me so much better. I might fall for you, too. It’s okay, I know this is your job. You don’t have to worry about me. I’ll figure that part out later.”

Smiling into her hair, I looked at the rest of them. They knew, even without being close enough to hear. I couldn’t wait for our little Omega to fall for us. Because it was already too late. She was ours, we were falling for her, and we had no plans to let her go.

“Look at me, Isolde.”

She did, with no hesitation. Fuck, this Omega had no idea what she did to me with one simple movement. I already imagined her obeying other commands and falling apart under my hands. Couldn’t fucking wait until I could touch all of her.

Her lips were under mine before she could ask me anything. I was starving, and she was the only thing which would satisfy me. She tasted like cannabis and sunshine and that sweetness which was only her.

Isolde kissed me back.

So unlike the first time I kissed her, she wrapped herself around me, blooming like a fucking flower. It was like she couldn’t get close enough to me, and I needed to consume all of her. Why the fuck did I take my rope home? It wasn’t far. I could run over and grab it, but I didn’t want to take my hands off my Omega.

“Get a room,” a voice called, followed by laughter.

When I turned, I found Beau glaring at us, clearly pissed.

“Don’t worry, we’ll use it later,” Vaughn called.

All I did was smile before turning back to Isolde and kissing her again, this time curling my fingers into her hair to keep her still before I took her mouth with all the savagery I felt.

“You have no idea what you’ve done by unleashing us, angel.”

She giggled, and I swore in that moment I would never forget the sound or take it for granted. “I’m no angel.”

“Oh, you are,” I said, leaning in to kiss her neck. Across her shoulder to where her shirt sagged and bared her skin. “Better be careful. We’re the devils who will drag you down and dirty that halo. We may not have corrupted you yet, but it doesn’t mean we won’t.”

Her teeth sank into her bottom lip, and I groaned. I fucking loved it when she did that. With her lips swelling from my kisses the movement made her that much more appealing.

“Corruption sounds kind of fun.”

“It will be.”

Rowan stole her away from me, carrying a laughing Isolde into the shallows of the water. I sat down in the sand next to Vaughn, accepting the joint he held out.

“Glad you didn’t go to the gym?”

“Fuck you.”

He chuckled, watching the same thing I was—Isolde and Rowan, feeling the rightness that came with knowing she was ours and we could actually show her. I passed the joint back so he could take a hit.

“I might still have to go to the gym if I don’t want to pounce on her like a wild animal.”

“Or,” he handed me what was left of the joint between his fingers. “You can stay for a bit and watch our Omega.”

“Watching is Hawk’s thing,” I teased.

Too fucking true. But even now, I couldn’t take my eyes off her. With the sun now below the horizon and the flickering firelight so close, I could barely see her and Rowan in the shallow waves.

Vaughn made a face, and I leaned back into the sand, blowing bad smoke rings into the sky. His voice was quiet. “I think with Isolde, watching might become everyone’s thing.”
