Chapter Making 12
Chapter 12
Marco came up to Gilmore and Christine. Gilmore was shocked to see Marco, who was usually so cold, smile so broadly, “Christine, heard that you are attending the opening ceremony of the Palazzo on behalf of Evergreen Properties today. I’m here to support
you.”
Although Christine was holding Gilmore’s arm and Gilmore was standing beside her all the time, Marco did not spare Gilmore a glance.
It was as if Gilmore did not exist.
Gilmore could see the extreme disregard and arrogance toward him on Marco’s face.
However, Gilmore was not angry. The haughtiness of the sons from rich families was worth nothing in his eyes.
Christine knew that Marco was ignoring Gilmore deliberately.
A very polite smile appeared on her face. “Mr. Chapman, thank you for coming.”
“You’re welcome,” Marco smiled. “Christine, I have to say, since our two families are closely connected, shouldn’t you call me Marco instead?”
However, Christine didn’t seem to hear Marco’s words. Instead, she pointed to Gilmore beside her and said, “By the way, I forgot to introduce him to you. This is my boyfriend, Gilmore.”
Marco seemed to
have just noticed Gilmore then. Marco gave off a very domineering aura, with his sharp gaze focused on Gilmore,
Gilmore wanted to tower over and intimidate Gilmore.
However, Gilmore did not buy his act.
Gilmore’s lips curled into a contemptuous smile when he met Marco’s eyes unblinkingly as if Marco were a clown.
Marco, whose eyes were full of arrogance, felt inexplicably humiliated.
The stunt Marco pulled to intimidate Gilmore did not work on Gilmore at all!
Marco smiled faintly and offered a hand to Gilmore, “Hello, Mr. Reed!”
His words left both Christine and Luke thoroughly surprised.
Chap 1
Not only was Marco not angry, but he even ribant Gilmore no harm. In fact, Marco even wanted to shake hands with Gilmore. Wasn’t such friendliness too bizarre?
However, Gilmore did not consider Marco to be a friendly person.
When the girl he loved introduced her boyfriend to Marco, Marco remained so calm as it nothing had happened.
Either Marco wasn’t in love with Christine at all or he was shrewd enough to hide all the hatred deep inside.
Needless to say, Marco was the latter case.
He was much more horrifying than Brandon, a son from a rich family that had his feelings written all over his face.
But no matter how shrewd Marco was, Gilmore wasn’t afraid of him.
Gilmore shook hands with Marco naturally, and a graceful smile appeared on his face. “Hello, Mr. Chapman!”
After shaking hands, Marco looked at Christine and said, “Christine, the villas here at the Palazzo are all top–notch. Could you recommend a few to me?”
Christine said apologetically, “Mr. Chapman. I’m really sorry. I have to keep my
1 company. How show this? I’ll ask a staff member to show you around!”
Without waiting for Marco’s answer, Christine shouted to a sales lady in the hall, “Lily, come and introduce the Palazzo to Mr. Chapman.”
“Yes, Miss Foster. The real estate agent trotted over immediately.
Christine was still holding Gilmore’s arm, completely ignoring Marco, who was standing right in front of her. She looked at Gilmore affectionately and said, “Gilmore, let’s go see the house.”
Gilmore finally understood Christine’s intentions now.
Christine was surely not in love with Marco.
She wanted to use Gilmore to turn Marco down, or perhaps it would be more accurate to say that she did not want to spend time with Marco at all.
Since a beauty like Christine needed his help, Gilmore would naturally be willing to help.
Chapter 12
Gilmore nodded to Christine and said, “Sure, let’s go.”
Christine and Gilmore walked arm in arm past Marco, whose face turned cold unconsciously.
Luke and the two salesgirls that looked down on
more carlier were all too shocked to
say anything when they watched Gilmore and Christine leave together.
The two sales ladies warned themselves silently in their hearts, “I must be more polite to Gilmore in the future. I can’t be as rude as I was today.”
“Mr. Chapman, what kind of villa are you interested in? Today, we have a total of… The sales lady quickly followed Christine’s orders and said cautiously to Marco, who was looking gloomy.
However, before the sales lady could finish her words, Marco had already turned around and walked out, followed by his two bodyguards, leaving her there looking
stunned…
Marco drove his Lamborghini off the Palazzo, and so did his bodyguards in their Mercedes. The noise the engines made was deafening.
Then, two people came out of a luxurious detached villa. They smiled knowingly, watching the Lamborghini and Mercedes zoom away.
They were Gilmore and Christine.
I’ve done my job. Can I leave now?” asked Gilmore, as he looked at Christine.
Christine nodded. “Thank you for your help. That guy is always the last person I want to
see.
Gilmore was a little surprised. He did not expect Christine to dislike Marco so much.
However, Gilmore did not ask Christine further questions. After all, this was her business
“No problem,
Gilmore said and was about to leave.
Anyway, it was too late to go back to the sales office for any villas available now. He might as well go somewhere ele
However, right after Gilmore took a few steps forward Christine’s voice sounded from
behind him. “Gilmore, wait a moment”
Gilmore looked at Christine and had a bad feeling. He asked, “What is it?”
Yeah, there’s just a tiny problem Christine answered. She then smiled sweetly. “Can you be my contract boyfriend“”
Galmore was stunned. Could this be considered to be a tiny problem?
A contract boyfriend? What did that mean?
Seeing that Gilmore was a little confused, Christine explained. “It’s ok even if I tell you everything. I hate Marco a lot. He’s not my type at all.
“But my parents and my sick grandfather like him very much, and they hope that I can marry him someday.”
Speaking of which Christine looked at Gilmore and said, “I just told Marco that you are my boyfriend, so I want you to continue to play along. You’ll get paid pretty well.”
“Sorry, I’m not interested” Gilmore refused her without thinking.
His refusal caught Christine off guard.
Many people were eager to be her boyfriend. Although Gilmore would only be pretending to be one, many others would love to pretend to be her boyfriend.
However, Gilmore rejected her flatly.
It was because Gilmore knew that being Christine’s fake boyfriend would arouse other men’s jealousy.
It would make Gilmore the target for their attacks.
That was why Gilmore rejected the deal.
Christine put on a flattering smile, pouted her red lips, and shook Gilmore’s arm. “If you agree to sign the contract and be my boyfriend. I’ll give you the most luxurious villa of the Palazzo that I have reserved for myself.”
Gilmore glanced sideways at Christine and wondered, “Is it a honeytrap?”
Anyway, Gilmore had to admit that Christine’s coquettish acts melted his heart, and he found it irresistible.
However, ever since Gilmore had consumed the elixir, he possessed supernatural powers as well as mana. And his willpower was so strong that ordinary people didn’t even compete with him.
Therefore, Gilmore did not succumb to Christine’s coquettish acts. Instead, he said
