Dweller

Chapter 25

I propelled forward no matter if he was ready or not. And Attacked.

I used the dagger from behind my back and angled it away from my body making it protrude from my back making it look like a spike.

I ran straight ahead, jumping . I struck his small blade as he blocked my attack. A smile grows on my face as he slowly gets pushed back by the weight of my attack. I land back on the ground and strike him again. This time turning after my first attack making both of the daggers hit him.

He blocked the first attack but wasn’t prepared for the second one. It slices across his face. Leaving a diagonal scar that runs from his forehead to his chin. It starts to bleed profoundly.

He prepares for his attack right away. He throws his dagger at me causing me to bounce back and block it. By the time the dagger hits the ground he’s gone. He runs behind me throwing another dagger at me and trailing behind it. I block the dagger with my left dagger and block his attack with my right dagger.

The dagger he threw hits against my dagger making it fall to the ground. I lose interest in it as soon as I block it. However soon pain erupts in my body . The dagger that I had blocked implanted itself in my foot.

I lose the force behind my other dagger, making him push me to the ground.

The fight is now over.

I lost.

I lay on the ground, the dagger still in my foot. Pain travels through my body. The adrenaline slowly wears off. My cuts and other bruises make themselves known. He stands over me panting looking over my body at the damage.

He slowly falls to the ground. The dragon shifters finally move and are now standing over him also looking at me with straight faces.

“ Take…. Her…. With …. Us.” He says gasping for breath in between each breath.

The dragon shifter to his left comes over to me. We make eye contact, he stares at me, he then grabs my daggers and takes them away from me, no longer able to fight back with them. He stands up and walks away.

The other one picks me up, grading one side of me and lifting me with my arm pit, the other comes back and does the same.

A witch goes over and addresses all of Quarry’s injuries. They stand next to him with me still in their grasp.

My whole body hurts, the pain is everywhere. My foot however is the worst. I can feel as the warm blood trickles out from my foot , the pain becoming worse every second. I was just glad that the others got out of here before it got too bad, and so they also didn't have to see me like this.

The sky starts to cry without any warning. Probably the work of a wizard. The rain helped clean up my wounds and clean the ground of blood. My whole body slowly gets benched. My head becomes light headed from the loss of blood.

I looked around and many of the werewolves were still on the ground, probably dead. Many of the other creatures have already left. Quarry’s injury on his face was getting addressed; it was definitely going to leave a mark no matter how much magic they use.

I looked up at the sky seeing the artificial clouds as they slowly rolled towards us. I bring my head down letting my eyes wander. Behind a wall I see some dark figures. I try to focus more but my eyes are becoming heavy. However, what I could make out seemed to be Sam.

I slowly shocked my head, to try and signal to them not to even attempt it. My eyes finally gave into the drawer and I was in a sad state.

_______________

When I woke up again I was in some large space. It was too dark to see anything but I could tell I would have enough space to move around. I had had the energy to do so.

I squinted my eyes as I tried to make out anything in the dark space. There was nothing, not even a sliver of light.

I had also realized that the pain was completely gone. Because of how dark it was I couldn't see how bad the conditions of my state were. All I knew was that I was no longer in pain and was in some sort of closed space.

I slowly scouted backward trying to look for a wall or some sort of solid object. I eventually hit one of the ten body scouts back. If you could even count that as a measurement.

I slowly stood up trying to go slow in case the pain had just decided to show up at that moment. Nothing came. I stood fully up.

I trailed my hand along the surface. It was ruff and cold. It seemed to curve up in some areas. I slowly traveled around the room trying my best to map out the room. The walls were rigid and cold. It shot out in some parts and was smoother in others.

It seemed a lot like the walls of that mining dream I had a little ways ago. MAybe I was in some sort of cave? The walls were cold but that could just be because of the little heat that seemed to make its way here.

I made it around the room and finally stopped when I was met with a different material. It seemed slightly warmer. There were straight edges and it seemed to be more physically made. It could be some sort of door which would explain more of the room.

I walked away from the object with my hands out in front of me in case I ran into the wall. When I didn’t I fell to the ground.

I was tired and cold and missed the others. Just imagining that they were there when I got dragged away filled me with dread.

They all looked up to me and I lost like that in front of me. I burst into tears letting the pain go away. After so long I missed the feeling of a family.
