Dumping Ex and Spoiled by Mr. Hopkins by Amber Apple

Chapter 7

Chapter 7: Is My

Acting Not Good Enough?

Just as Abbie was about to hit

the ground, Lexie grabbed

her arm.

Abbie looked at Lexie in

shock.

“If you’re gonna act the part, do it right,” Lexie whispered to Abbie, her voice soft yet carrying a subtle chill. “If you can’t, maybe I can help

you.”

Abbie felt a pang in her c*est

as she locked eyes with Lexie. There was this weird,

icy vibe in Lexie’s gaze that gave Abbie the creeps.

To create a natural spot on

the hospital lawn, there were intentionally placed rocks for decoration.

Lexie knew exactly what

awaited Abbie when she

released her arm, but she

showed no hesitation.

With a muffled sound,

Abbie’s head hit the stone.

Her fair forehead instantly

swelled, and she looked even

more pitiful.

The whole incident

happened in an instant,

catching both Abbie and

Callum off guard.

When Callum finally reacted, he glared at Lexie with gritted teeth, sternly growling, “Lexie Baily, do you know what you’re doing?”

Lexie shrugged, looking

nonchalantly. “Whoops!

Sorry, I didn’t mean to…”

“You…!” Callum clocked

Lexie’s unapologetic

expression, realizing she didn’t really feel sorry.

“You don’t believe me?” Lexie

looked at Callum with a

mocking smile. “It’s strange. Why do you believe Abbie’s apologies and not mine? Is my acting not good

enough?”

Abbie touched her forehead,

feeling the swelling and

sharp pain that seemed to

pierce her brain.

Hatred burned in her eyes as

she glared at Lexie. She quietly clenched her teeth,

holding back the desire to

charge forward and shatter

her.

For Abbie, who was in

Hollywood, her face was particularly important, and

she couldn’t bear the cost of

disfigurement.

She didn’t expect Lexie to be

so ruthless!

Despite Abbie’s glaring, Lexie smirked, “Abbie, you listen up! Best for you to stay out of my sight in the future,

or the next encounter won’t

be as chill as this one.”

Sensing the warning in her

words, Callum stepped

forward, blocking Lexie’s

way, and looked at her with a

dark expression. “Lexie,

you’re absolutely

unreasonable!”

Lexie raised an eyebrow, a frosty grin playing on her *ips. “If you think I’m unreasonable, then just steer clear. I’ve got zero patience. Anything I don’t like would

never get a second glance

from me, cuz that makes me

sick!”

“You!” Callum’s face

darkened, clenching his fists

at his sides. “If you hold a

grudge against me, come at me, but leave Abbie out of

it!”

“Seriously, is chasing after garbage the latest trend? You’re giving yourself way

too much credit there,” Lexie quipped, shooting him a

look dripping with sarcasm.

Callum stared at her, his

brows furrowed, and issued a

warning, “You can hate me,

but I won’t allow you to

harm Abbie!”

Scooping up Abbie, he shot Lexie a meaningful glance,

and then strolled away.

Lexie stood there watching the two leaving, tears uncontrollably filling her

eyes.

Three years down the drain—all that hard work

was for nothing. Going

against her family just brought her a brief moment

of happiness.

But since she decided to end

it all, she had never thought

of turning back.

Lexie shut her eyes slowly, trying to hold back the tears,

but they just spilled out, a

silent lament for the love she

insisted with her stubborn

ways.

“Are you okay?” A magnetic

voice sounded beside her.
