Don’t Look Back by Bishop Bernal

Chapter 8

Book 1 Chapter 8

I took a deep breath “We were close when I was little, he was my best friend. But on his 18 birthday he shifted of course. I was the only one there for him and once he was finally in wolf form he just stood there and stared at me,” I remembered.

“He had this weird look in his eyes then he just took off running into the woods. I went looking for him but gave up and went home only find him packing his bags. He left that night. I didn’t see him again till that night I was at the club.”

Understanding flared in Adrain’s eyes “It was the night I found you on the couch wasn’t it?” Adrain asked.

I nodded remembering how much Luke had changed. His short blonde hair had always looked good on him, but his dark strands seemed to make him more dangerous and edgy.

“You should have told me sooner short stuff,” Adrain told me smiling slightly.

I shrugged not wanting to get into it. Just telling Adrain that much had me feeling as if my heart was bleeding.

“Come on I’ll make you breakfast. Adrain grinned like a little kid shocking me. I quickly agreed before he could turn into his scowling self again. It was so rare to see him actually smile and to see him acting like this. Well the world may just be coming to an end

I watched in amazement as he cooked pancakes, eggs, bacon, grits, and handed me a tall glass of orange juice.

I gaped at him.

“Two years! Two! And you’ve never even touched a pan while I’ve been here!” I yelled at him. I mean when he said he’d make me breakfast I figured he’d do what Andy did and make me a bowl of cereal not a freaking buffer!

He chuckled at me face and handed me a plate loaded with food. “I never really felt like cooking,” He shrugged.

“You know how many times I’ve had to order pizza because me and Andy can’t cook! Oh that is just mean.” I glared shaking my head.

“Who died?!” Andy yelled running into the kitchen with greedy eyes. I gave him a strange look as I caught what he had on his boxers.”

Rainbows.

Was I missing something here??

“Uh love the boxers Andy,” I raised an eyebrow. He frowned and looked down a blush brighten his cheeks once he realized what I

meant

“It was a dare!” he explained quickly his face completely red now.

“Uh.. sure whatever floats your boat,” I muttered stuffing a piece of hacon into my mouth.

“I’m not gay!” He said urgently as if he was desperate to make me belleve him. I just nodded amused.

Suddenly we heard a clicking sound and looked up to see Adrain with his phone taking a picture of Andy.

1 groaned as Adrain ran off laughing loudly as Andy screamed threats at him.

Minutes later my phone beeped telling me Adrain had uploading a picture to Facebook. I banged my head on the table knowing Andy was going to be moody as hell after this

Book 1 Chapter 8

I was freaking out!

What the hell do you wear to a party like this! I mean what if the Alpha thought I was trying to hard or I wasn’t trying hard enough? What if he thought I looked like a slob?

Ugh this was torture!

All Cameron had told me was that they were having a party. Was it a formal party or a backyard kind of thing?

Hoping it was the backyard kind of thing I picked out my favorite teal colored dress that reached above my knees. It was simple yet

Very cute.

Deciding I could fancy up my hair a little I grabbed my wand and curled my hair exactly how I wanted it About three hours later I deemed myself as good as I was going to get

Nerves were making my stomach clench painfully. What if people thought I was a slut or something, not that I had any reason to give them that impression, but I don’t know, god I should probably stop thinking like this

Em the wolf dude’s here!” Andy yelled from the living room. I rolled my eyes at his name for Cameron. Crap Cameron was here! Glancing at myself in the mirror I prayed I had dressed right

1 grabbed my clinch bag and forced my way into the living room. Cameron stood in the middle of the room with a amused look on his

face as Andy and Adram glared at hum

When he noticed me his eyes widen in surprise.

“Wow you look_wow, Cameron breathed.

“I’m dressed for the occasion right?” I asked nervously noticing he was wearing a nice button up shirt and dark slacks.

He gave me a guilty lock and shifted uneasily “Sorry I forgot to tell you it’s a formal dinner you’ll be under dressed, but you’ll be fine”

What no! Everyone would be staring at me! I was going to stick out like a sore thumb.

Cameron busted out laughing and grabbed my hand k*ssing my cheek I kidding your dressed perfectly don’t be so nervous

I har him with my purse making him chuckle as he rubbed his atin.
