Chapter Divorcing 64
Chapter 64: The Mockery

They hadn’t heard of anyone from a prestigious family working as a flight attendant.
“She’s not one of us.”
Huh?
So you’re saying Chloe’s broke, has no connections, and no
skills?
They covered their mouths, chuckling softly.
Michael used to be a top–notch guy. Now, out of the blue, he’s married, and his wife? Just an ordinary woman who knows nothing.
The rich ladies naturally looked down on Chloe.
“With Mr. Shawn’s level of prowess, he could have any woman he wanted. Why would he choose her…?”
“He’s young, so love is what matters most. Things like having. kids? Not a big deal.”
Victoria always pretended to have Chloe’s back.
But she kept asking questions just to embarrass Chloe.

It didn’t take long for others to catch the flaw in her statement.
“How long have they been married? Why hasn’t Chloe had a kid. yet?”
Victoria had been waiting for someone to ask that, and she was thrilled.
On the surface, she still put on a concerned look for Chloe.
“Chloe, don’t stress about it. Having kids can’t be forced. Plus, your grandpa got you all those meds; it doesn’t hurt to try them. And hey, with today’s tech, you can always go for some artificial methods too.”
The wealthy ladies were curious. Once they heard “artificial methods,” they pretty much figured out what was going on.
“Mr. Shawn, the picky one, ended up choosing a woman who can’t even have kids?”
Victoria stayed silent, just listening to those people trash–talking
Chloe.
She had called Chloe over today on purpose.
Last time at the family dinner, Chloe humiliated Victoria in front of everyone and later embarrassed Cathy too.
No way she’d ever forget this.
Chloe stood quietly beside Victoria, listening to the nasty gossip.

She blinked, feeling surprisingly calm.

“Ms. Shawn, it’s not just me, it’s both of us who haven’t had kids yet. Plus, this is a public place–maybe not the best spot for this convo. If Grandpa finds out you’re airing family stuff like this, you’re in for another lecture.”
Hearing that, Victoria felt Chloe was deliberately using Admas to put her down.
“Everyone’s got a point. If you don’t want people talking, just have a kid.”
“Does Ms. Shawn think women are only good for having kids? Everyone says the best age for that is between 20 and 28. Cathy’s in that range, right? She doesn’t even have a boyfriend yet. Shouldn’t Ms. Shawn be worried?”
“Cathy’s in a whole different league. She’s a famous university grad, just snagged several international awards, and her book’s already published!”
“Victoria, what’s Cathy’s master’s degree in?”
Victoria couldn’t help but beam with pride when she talked about her daughter.
“Since she was a kid, she loved drawing and had a knack for design, so she went for a master’s in it. Cathy also had a thing for literature, so she double–majored. Word on the street is, her PhD application just got the green light too.”
Chapter 64: The Mockery Cathy rode solo today.
She was striding their way.

Cathy overheard the conversation and walked over, linking arms with Victoria. Feigning shyness, she said, “Mom, why are you saying all this? There are so many people better than me.”
She glanced at Chloe, a fleeting smirk crossing her face.
“Plus, Chloe’s still here.”
All eyes turned to Chloe.
One was a former flight attendant fired by Paramount Airlines, the other a PhD from a design institute.
Who’s stronger? It’s a no–brainer.
“Chloe, even though you got married young, it’s important to improve yourself. The Shawn family doesn’t care much about degrees, but just having a bachelor’s really puts you at a disadvantage.”
Chloe found herself surrounded by a bunch of wealthy folks. She’d never gotten this kind of attention before.
She glanced at Cathy and suddenly started speaking fluent Aikopnish. Everyone there was well–educated, so they understood her perfectly.
But Chloe used some jargon, so most people didn’t get it.
