Chapter Two
~Avery-
I looked at my reflection in the mirror to make sure that my clothes covered each and every one of my bruises, if I could do my own makeup, I would have used foundation to hide them, I did not know why I bothered so much, it was not as if anyone actually cared to notice, I was basically invisible at school and I liked it, it was my escape from this hell that I call a pack, if I had the guts to get into trouble so I would be stuck in detention, I would do it but Liam would make sure to whip me because of the time I wasted at school.
I walked to my bed and grabbed my bag pack when Emily got into my room without knocking, as usual, she had a frown on her face.
"Good Morning, Emily." I greeted her.
"What exactly is good about the morning, huh? The Alpha wants to see you, I don't know what kind of trouble that you have gotten yourself into but it better not cost me my job or else, you would be a dead meat and nobody would notice." She threatened me with a straight face.
I did not know whom to be scared of, my father hardly requested for me except it was something bad as Emily claimed but I have not done anything, I went straight to my room after what happened last night except Liam has poisoned his mind against me again.
"Why are you still standing there like you have seen a ghost? Move, you always have to be slow, gosh." She said in an irritated tone.
I nodded and left my room with her trailing behind me, fear enveloped me as I descended the stairs, I had to calm myself down when I did not see Liam pacing up and down in the living room like he used to whenever he wanted to punish me.
He had the same confused look like Emily.
"Good Morning, Father." I greeted him.
My greeting made Liam to shoot a deadly glare at me, "How many times will I tell you to address him as Alpha, not father."
I was quick to apologize with a shaky voice, "I am sorry."
"Let her be, it does not matter, I am still her father, I never disowned her." He finally spoke.
I was beyond surprised at his reply, what could have happened to him, this morning?
He seemed to have woken up at the right side of the bed or my mother must have warned him in his dream to start treating me better.
"But she has to still accord respect before she forgets her place in this pack." He argued.
My dad squinted his eyes at his son as a warning, "I said, drop it."
He knew better to shut it.
"Drop your bag, you will not be going there today." He ordered.
If I was bold enough, I would have protested.
Just when I thought that he was about to be a responsible nice father, he chose to disappoint me, he really wanted me to ditch school so I could work all day, I am sure that Emily and Liam would be happy, the fact that I was given the privilege to go to school.
I gently dropped my bag on the chair beside me.
"Emily." He called her name.
"Yes, sir."
"Go upstairs with some other servants and pack her bags." He ordered them.
Uncontrollable tears instantly escaped my eyes and rolled down my cheeks.
Even though, my vision was nearly blinded by my tears, I could see the evil smirk on Liam's face.
I heard him mutter under his breath, "Finally, he is kicking her out."
I fell to my knees and chose to beg him, I had no where to go if he was going to kick me out, I would barely survive a day out there without food or shelter, I did not even have a mate to save me from this trouble.
If only my mother's spirit could disturb him so he could stop this madness, how could he treat his daughter like this.
I have never enjoyed a father-daughter relationship, not once as I grew up.
"Please, Alpha. Don't do this to me, I don't have anywhere to go, please, don't kick your only daughter out on the cold streets, I would die." I pleaded.
"How exactly is that our problem?! If
you die, it would be a plus to all of us, you get to be with mum, that is if
she will accept you after cutting her life short with your birth." Liam
replied me, bitterly.
I decided to ignore him because if I replied him, it might infuriate the Alpha.
"Please, she won't be happy with this, give me another chance, I promise that I will be more hardworking, I won't even sleep, please, I will do anything that you would want." I begged. "There is no point begging because you are leaving." Liam pointed out.
They brought my two boxes downstairs and I kept begging.
"Stand up." He ordered and I did.
"Stop crying, I am not planning to kick you out, you are still my blood even though, I am ashamed of your weakness that is why I have chosen to send you away." He added. His statement made me to release a breath that I did not know I have been holding.
"Where are you sending her to, dad?" Liam asked out of curiosity.
"To somewhere that would help her grow stronger and be able to shift." He announced. The smirk on Liam's face had already washed away and it was replaced with a frown.
"What?! Father, she does not need that, we need her here to work for us." Liam stated.
"There are a lot of servants in this pack, her absence would not stop services from being rendered." He replied him.
"But.."
He cut him short right there, "No buts. I have made up my mind and there is nothing that anybody would do to change it."
It was funny how few minutes ago, my brother wanted me gone but now, he has changed his mind all because he did not want me to progress.
"I have spoken to the owner of Mason Academy and she has been accepted."
"Isn't that the school, the Lycan king owes?" Liam inquired, just to be sure.
"Yes, it is." He replied, shortly.
"Father, you are going to spend such money on her, she is not worth it." Liam protested.
"Listen to me, young man. It is my money and I decide whom to spend it on, it is the right place for her as long as it will make her stronger, that is all I want, consider it as an investment."
I was tempted to hug him but I was not sure if he would like it, tears were still dripping but this time, they were tears of joy.
"I can't believe this." Liam asserted but he dared not to walk out on the Alpha.
Anxiety replaced the fear that I had earlier as I thought about how the students at the school would treat me.
"Mind you, there are not only wolves
there, it is an academy for
supernaturals including Vampires, Witches, Wizards, Dragons, Mermaids and the rest. So, take this opportunity seriously, if I hear any bad report about you, I will withdraw immediately and make sure that you work thrice as you did here, am I understood?"
"Yes sir, thank you sir, I promise I won't fail you." I gave him my words.
"Good, your things are ready, although, all the rooms have been taken because of late admission,
.n
ét
made sure that you got the best
room but you would have to be paired with someone." He replied
me.
UMS
"Please, don't mind my asking, sir but who?" I questioned.
He hesitated before replying, "His son, Alexander."
Everybody's eyes widened when they heard that, I was shocked to stupor that I had to share a room with the Lycan's son.
Dear, goddess, please, save me.
