Chapter 3

Irene’s POV

If I had found Elton’s words shocking, then this man just raised the bars.

Their fated mate? Since when was fated mate something we could choose of our free will?

With a freaking contract!

The man in the middle, the only one that I didn’t know his name yet, must have noticed my hesitation as he leaned forward a little more.

“Little mate, regardless of if you sign the contract or not, you belong to us…”

“Why don’t you save us some effort?”

There’s a small smile hanging on his l*ps, but the intensity in his amber eyes is enough to let me know that his patience would not be there for long. There’s also some air of power and firmness that was coming from him that made me unable to resist his

I pull my eyes away from his gaze and pick up the pen that was on the contract.

My hands are trembling as I skim through the pages because every page sends one message to my brain.

From this moment, these three men planned to own me in every sense of it. And to the world, I was going to be their Fated mate.

On the last page, there were three names.

Alek Kaiser. I raised my head up to look at him. That had to be his name. Seeing his signature right beside his name made me feel a little flustered.

What exactly did these three men want from me?

Under their intense hazes, I scrawled my signature on the paper. It was really just my name with my surname written over it.

Before this, I had never had to sign anything and having a signature was the last thing that would cross your mind when you were struggling to survive being a pack’s maid.

The moment I drop the pen, Elton stands up and leaves the room. Alek and Noah both look at me.

“He has some urgent matters to attend to. You can get to know him eventually.” Alek starts, and I find myself nodding.

When my wolf had picked two mates, it had been weird enough, but they were both kind and sweet. After one month, the three of us had gotten used to being around each other and knowing

we were going to be together for the rest of our lives.

But this time, not only was it a chosen bond, I had to deal with these three men.

Just one of them was enough to snuff life out of me. And they wanted me, just me, to deal with all three of them?

The door opens, and two middle-aged women step into the room.

“Your Highness.” They both echoed with bowed heads, and my brows raised.

Before I could ask who owned the greeting, they turned and bowed again.

“My lord.”

“Show Lady Irene her quarters. Also, assign three of the best maidservants to her,” Alek says as he stands up and then, without another word to me, he walks out of the room.

Lady Irene?

I turn to look at Noah, hoping that somehow he could provide some explanation of some s he just gives me a small smile and stands up too.

sort, but

Unlike the other two, Noah’s movements are less restrained, and when he stands up, it’s easy to see that he is many years behind them.

“I’ll see you later. Irene.”

Okay, I was clearly wrong about him.

With the three of them gone, I’m left with no choice but to look at the two women that still had their heads bowed.

“You can raise your heads. They have all gone.

I say to them, feeling uncomfortable with them bowing to me.

“Please follow us. We will lead you to your quarters.” There was a firmness in her words that made it add for me to question her. And so I stand up and follow them.

With the power snap bracelet on my wrist, I’m no different from the everyday human. Three floors. later, I’m panting and all sweaty from the stairs we have climbed. One of the women stops and glances at me with an absurd look.

“Lady Irene, you can’t possibly be human, right?”

-She doesn’t smell like one,” the other woman interjected, but her eyes were still on me, waiting to hear an answer. When I don’t say anything, both of them turn back and keep walking forward. But somehow, I could already sense that I wasn’t going to be having an excellent time here.

I realise that I had concluded too soon because one floor later, the three of them open the double doors to one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

From where I’m standing, it looks like I have just walked into a small apartment. The front has a little courtyard with plants and flowers. That was certainly one of my favourite things, and I couldn’t help but recall how Alek had said he knew everything about me.

Just how much did he know!

“This is your quarters, your maidservants would be here anytime from now.” And then, the both of them leave.

I resist the urge to squeal as I walk through the doors, my eyes taking in everything before I open

the door.

When I do, the inside is even more impressive, and I pinch myself twice to be sure that this is real.

Unfortunately, I don’t get my privacy for long as two voices ring out behind me..

“Lady Irene, this ser vant pays her respect!”

“We have been assigned to take care of your every need and help you get accustomed to the palace.” One of them continued.

Unlike the women that escorted me here, they are younger, and one of them looks a lot like my age. Having two girls around my age might not necessarily be a bad thing.

“What are your names?”

“I’m Brenda.” The slightly older one said with a little curtsy.

“My name is Julia, my Lady,” the younger one said, and I nodded with approval.

“Can you tell me where the f uck am at?”
