Chapter Moment In Time
The sun set over the Inchaya Sea, turning the water a warm orange. Roisin, Dex, Ariel, Ashe, Anya, Wes, Atlas, Keegan, Lotte, Syl, Elyss, Arwyn, Seb, Logan, Ruby and young Amy were sat on the grass, outside the University, which had been closed for the week.
The Bonding Ceremony had taken place earlier that day, and everyone was in high spirits. They decided the reception party would be a small party for close friends only. Soft music was playing in the background, from a small bar.
"So then, Atlas comes running out, stumbling on his words before running aboard the ship!" Keegan laughed.
"Well, I wanted to be here on time" Atlas shrugged.
"Then he fidgeted all the way here" Lotte laughed.
"I'm just glad you were all able to make it on such short notice" Roisin smiled.
"Me too, though I imagine Andrea is a little annoyed at being left in charge" Atlas nodded, Roisin and the others chuckled. Ruby was playing with a ball, rolling it towards Amy, who rolled it back.
"I'm just glad we're all back together again" Ariel nodded.
"Yeah, the years have flown by in no time at all. I'm sure this wont be the last time that we all meet up" Syl replied.
"Yeah, Keegan's still gotta find someone to marry" Ruby giggled.
"Hey!" Keegan's face turned red, which made Ruby erupt into laughter. "You've grown cheeky, little miss" Keegan chuckled.
"Once Ashe and I are done up on the floating continent, we were thinking about moving here to Inchaya, perhaps opening a museum displaying stuff about Utopia" Ariel suggested.
"We'd definitely be able to help fund something like that" Roisin offered. "Don't forget, the Universities are all about academic stuff, and not fighting" She smiled.
"We might take you up on that, Inchaya sounds like a great place to raise Amy" Ashe smiled softly as she patted Amy on the head.
"I'd love to be around more" Wes began. "But Inchaya still holds a lot of bad memories for me" He added.
"You could always come like in Raryst" Arwyn offered. "It's a growing town, and it could always use people like you two" He smiled.
"Raryst holds... some bad memories for me also" Anya sighed.
"Oh, it's not built where the actual Raryst was" Arwyn smiled. "It's far across the Steppe, near the ocean" He nodded.
"Hmm, we might look into that while we're here" Wes nodded, as he held Anya's hand.
"Celeste has gotten everything held down at the lab in Sanctuary now, so we've been thinking about moving on from there" Anya smiled at Wes.
"They've finished the train line too, so you'd only be an hour away at most" Dex smiled.
"It sounds like a plan then" Wes agreed. Roisin looked off into the red sky, feeling a tinge of sadness.
"I wish life could be like this forever" She sighed, Dex looked at Roisin and frowned.
"Hey, what's wrong?" He asked.
"Nothing... just..." She began. "I don't want to talk about it, not today" She smiled, trying to cheer herself up.
"Okay" Dex nodded, as he held her hand.
"Don't feel down, Mum. Like we all said, this won't be the last time we can meet up like this. Especially since everyone is talking about moving to this area!" Ruby grinned, Roisin giggled at Ruby's enthusiasm.
As the hours passed, Roisin, Dex, Ariel and Ashe were looking at the University.
"Who would have thought, that little annoying girl would become a Principal" Ashe chuckled.
"Rude" Roisin shrugged as the others laughed.
"We're proud of you though, Roisin, you've done a lot of work, just by following in Mizu's footsteps" Ariel nodded.
"Not to mentioned, the whole saving the world thing" Dex joked.
"I think we all played a part in that" Roisin smiled. "I'm glad I had you guys" She added.
"You always will" Ashe hugged Roisin, who smiled at Ashe.
"I know that I was sometimes overly serious and stuff..." Ariel began.
"Rubbish" Dex shrugged. "That's why we love you" He added.
"Ha, that reminds me of when I was disguised as Victoria, and we had that almighty row" Ariel laughed.
"Hey, you deserved it" Dex teased.
"I did" Ariel replied. "You were the main reason on why I finally had the courage to split from my family, Dex. You made me question everything I believed" She added.
"You did all the work yourself" Dex replied. "You always had that rebellion brewing inside, I was just the catalyst" He shrugged.
"Maybe, but... thank you" Ariel nodded, as she hugged Dex. Roisin and Ashe joined in the hug, and they all erupted into a fit of laughter.
The evening continued on, with everyone chatting and joking away, until the evening eventually came to and end.
Roisin and Dex were stood on a balcony looking at the snow-white moon. Roisin frowned and looked at Dex.
"What's wrong, really, Roisin?" Dex asked.
"We're going to have to watch every single one of them get old" Roisin frowned. "This power, it's fantastic, and amazing. But... it's also a curse" She added.
"The thought had crossed my mind too" Dex nodded. "There'll be a day when our hearts will break. Eventually, we will want to pass away too" He added. "But, we have a duty, and I don't want to let Mizu down" Dex smiled.
"Yeah" Roisin nodded, as she gazed off into the moon. "I'll be okay" She said as she looked at Dex and smiled.
