Cold-Hearted Princess Novel

Chapter 101

Chapter 101 Curiosity

I got on the ice, and Beth told me what I had to practice. It was about my Salchow again, but the picture of Gideon’s miserable face didn’t let me be at ease. What if he told me the truth? What if he really suffers, and he thinks I am the one who is indifferent?

After a few minutes of thinking, I felt I couldn’t do this any longer. Unfortunately, I cared. I loved him. Therefore, I wanted to know how it would end.

I skipped jumping, and I skated to Beth, who looked at me questioningly.

“Beth, I don’t know what this is, but I have to go to the toilet again.” I told her while I opened the plank door hurriedly.

She made a face, and she motioned for me to go.

I nearly forgot to put the covers on my skates. After grabbing my phone, I ran back to the changing room. I looked around, and I saw nothing, then I ran to a corner that had a hidden place. He was there. He sat there hugging his knees.

Gideon.

He looked at me with a sudden move then he stood up. I took my phone from my pocket. Seeing this, he took his. After telling him my number, he rang me. When my phone was ringing, I lowered my head, then I left him. I went back to the ice. My confusion told me to stay and listen to his explanations, but I was still hurt. I still felt like he had abandoned me intentionally, especially when I thought about what I saw in the club.

The training was too long. I couldn’t focus again, which angered Beth. She became a nightmare again, and she asked me about a hundred times why I was there and what I wanted to achieve. After three hours of torture, I left the ice finally. I wasn’t looking forward to meeting Gareth in the gym, but I had to. My heart pounded faster as I walked back to the changing room. I wondered if Gideon was still there, but he wasn’t. I only hoped he was careful enough not to be seen by Riccardo’s people.

I walked out of the building, then I drove to the gym. After I parked my car, I heard my phone vibrating. My heart pounded faster again while I checked

  1. it.

When can I see you?”

I sighed. That was the question that I couldn’t answer.

I’ll find a way soon. Riccardo’s people keep watching me.”

“I don’t give a shit about them.”

I rolled my eyes.

But I do, as I don’t want you to get hurt.”

I won’t. I know them well. Don’t trust them.

I only shook my head.

I have to go now. I’ll contact you.”

I am looking forward to it. I love you, Alice.”

I put my phone back in my pocket. Even this little conversation was enough to open up my scares. I felt like crying again, because I couldn’t avoid him. And I really worried he would break me more than he already did.

I rushed inside the building, and I was waiting for Gareth. He arrived shortly, and we started the training. My mind was on Gideon, of course, but I mostly ran, so actually it was just better not to focus on what I was doing. It made Gareth satisfied, at least.

After we finished. I felt tired again, but I was fine. I drove back home.

“Alice, finally. Lunch is nearly ready.” Alexandra greeted me with a smile laying on the sofa outside. I collapsed on the other and I just laid there.

“Are you tired?” Alexandra asked while lying motionlessly.

“Yes, these trainers are like slave drivers, really.”

“Sometimes I think I should start training too.and she pinched her so–called fat on her belly. That made me laugh.

Alexandra, that is your skin.

“No, that is fat.” She stated.

I shook my head while I laughed. She pushed herself up and looked at me with a frown.

It seems like someone is in a good mood.”

I stopped laughing, but I kept my smile.

“I think it’s just the training. It makes your body produce hormones that make you happy.”

Yes, Alice, probably this is the answer.”

And she laid back. Her reaction was weird somehow, but I ignored it. Gideon wasn’t stupid. Probably, he managed to come to me without being seen.

We laid there quietly for a little while, then Alexandra slowly sat up.

“It’s lunchtime, Alice.”

“What are we going to have for lunch?”

“I don’t know, I haven’t asked.”

I thought it was probably something Italian, just like most of the time. Rosa always requested a different meal for me, of course, but they never missed something Italian out of it. Actually, I liked it.

I stood up too, and we walked inside the house. First, we went for Matteo, who ran to us happily. I took him into my arms.

When we arrived in the dining room, Riccardo was already sitting there. He didn’t look too happy, though.

“How was your day?” He asked me while I put Matteo into his dining chair and I sat down at the table too.

“Hard, but okay.”

He nodded. We eat quietly. I was going to ask Alexandra after lunch what could happen, as Riccardo was really weird.

After we finished the dessert, Alexandra stood up and took Matteo into her arms. I looked at them with a frown. Usually we spent time together outside.

“Alice, he just wants to have a word with you. We’ll be outside.” I swallowed the last bite of my cake, then I looked at Riccardo, who looked at me seriously.

“Come with me into the living room.”

I stood up at the same time as him, and I followed him. He sat down on a sofa and patted the place next to him.

When I sat down, he took a deep breath and looked at me.

“Did he find you?”

His question hit me, and my eyes widened in surprise.

“I know he went to the sports centre. Heould think he wanted to see his niece, but I am guessing she doesn’t train at three o’clock in the morning. So there is no point in denying anything, Alice.”

I lowered my head.

“He did.”

“What did he want?

I sighed.

“He wanted to talk to me about us. He said he still loves me, and he wants to be with me.”

He laughed and shook his head, but that laugh wasn’t a cheerful laugh.

“And what about you? Do you still love him?”

I swallowed. I knew the best was to be honest with him. Actually, I owed him a lot.

“I do, Riccardo, but I don’t know if I can believe him. He told me things that would be so nice to believe in.”

“What did he tell you?”

>

I took a deep breath. It seemed like there was nothing that could happen without his knowledge.

“He told me he did search for me, and he came here to claim me, and he also told me he never signed the divorce agreement.”

I looked at Riccardo, trying to read his face, but he looked at me deep in the eye.

“What do you think? Do you think he told you the truth?”
