Chapter 1357
Rosalie clenched her fists and lightly pounded his chest, feeling a mix of shyness and frustration. "You're awful! How could you say something like that? Are you trying to annoy me on purpose?"
She had come all this way just to confess to him, yet now he was teasing her, suggesting that she wanted to marry him just so he could get citizenship. It was infuriating.
Justin had only asked that to tease her. Seeing her sulking face, he affectionately pinched her cheek. Then, he gently cupped the back of her head and pressed his forehead against hers.
In a deep and tender voice, he said, "You came all the way here just to find me, and now you're talking about marriage... I don't even know how to react."
It was the first time Justin had encountered a situation like this, and also the first time he had loved someone so deeply. He was a little overwhelmed.
"Justin, do you have any family or friends left in Melrine?"
Justin shook his head. "No."
To Justin, his family, his friends, and his love-there was only one person now, and that was Rosalie.
"In that case, then stay here, okay? Don't go back. With your abilities, you can make a living here. And even if you don't want to work, that's fine-I can take care of you. I'll buy you a house and a car. All I ask is that you stay home, wait for me to get off work every day, and give me hugs. I just need you to be with me."
Hearing her words, Justin couldn't help but laugh. "Are you trying to keep me as a househusband?"
"I don't mind," Rosalie replied.
She wasn't entirely joking. She was willing to provide for him.
All she wanted was for him to be with her. She could be the breadwinner, while he took care of things at home.
"Silly girl. I don't need you to provide for me." Justin gently ruffled her hair. "I've saved up quite a bit over the years. And if I let you do that, what would that make me? If Theodore found out, he'd definitely laugh at me."
"If he dares to laugh at you, I'll beat him up," Rosalie declared, raising her fist as if she meant every word.
The moment Theodore was mentioned, Justin's smile faded slightly. "By the way, does he know you came to find me?"
Rosalie's expression grew a little more serious. She shook her head "He doesn't. I left during work hours, so I'm definitely going to get scolded when I go back."
Justin pulled her into his embrace again, his voice gentle. "I'm sorry for making you leave work just to find me."
"It's your fault for not answering my calls or replying to my messages. You're so annoying," Rosalie pouted, acting spoiled. She rather liked this feeling-being able to be willful with him, knowing he would indulge her.
"I'm sorry, was wrong. I won't do it again," Justin coaxed, planting a kiss on her face. "Come on, let's go back. I'm not leaving. You should head back to work first."
Rosalie nodded and then stood up.
Justin grabbed his suitcase and held her hand as they left the airport together.
Rosalie took Justin to a hotel near her office and booked a room for him, telling him to stay there and wait for her to finish work.
Her break time was from twelve to two in the afternoon, but now it was already past three. Rosalie had been gone for over three hours.
Perhaps everyone was too busy, because no one seemed to have noticed her absence. She quietly slipped back to her desk and resumed working. Just then, her manager, Noah Hudson, walked over. "Rose, where did you go? I couldn't find you anywhere."
Rosalie's heart skipped a beat. She
immediately stood up and said, "m sorry, I had an urgent matter to attend to and didn't have time to
inform you. You can deduct my pay for the absence."
It was true that she had left without permission, so she was willing to take responsibility for it.
"Oh, don't be so serious. Sit down." Noah gently patted her shoulder. "It wasn't that long, anyway. Just remember to let me know next time." Rosalie realized that Noah seemed especially kind to her today.
