Chapter 8

Chapter 8

Raziel POV

I enjoyed seeing my kingdom and the forests that surrounded my kingdom from the 10-meter-high monitoring tower in the warrior camp.

All three forests are ours now. In the past, the two forests had been claimed by two groups of rogues; then suddenly, my late father had the idea to invite the two groups of rogues to join us.

At first, our members didn’t agree, and the rogues suspected we had bad intentions towards them. My father made our members and the rogues believe in him that we could live together.

Day after day, season after season, and year after year fly by. Until now, Lycans have coexisted alongside about 150 rogues, not only rogues, werewolves who were kicked out of their packs and haven’t joined rogue groups; we invite them to become our members.

Before he passed away, my father asked me not to discriminate against the rogues and werewolves who had agreed to become our members. My father also asked me to accept and invite rogues and werewolves with no hiding place.

I try to keep that promise. As Alpha King in this kingdom, I have to make sure there are no Lycans who are secretly making fun of rogues and werewolves.

This world is cruel to Lycans and rogue groups. Werewolves believe they are the

greatest

of us all. We can’t fight them since their numbers are growing.

We can only hide from them to preserve our lives. We will not let the Lycan clan become extinct.

I’m not even sure how many Lycan kingdoms are still surviving now. We all hide our existence in different ways.

“The air is cool. Don’t you like it, Beta Alden?” I glance at Alden, who always looks tense when we stand in this tower.

“Of course, cool, Alpha King. Alden nodded. “But I’m not comfortable here. I feel like I’m exposing myself and letting the werewolves see us.”

“The werewolves saw us, Beta.” My index finger pointed at the traditional market, which is always crowded in the evening. “Don’t forget a lot of werewolves are our members.”

“I can’t get rid of my bad thoughts about them.” Alden hugged his b*dy tightly with a panicked face. “I always suspected some of them might be spies sent by their pack to

watch and look for our weaknesses. Then, when the time comes, boom.” Alden looked at me with fear in his eyes. “They attacked and exterminated us, Lycans.”

“I know not all werewolves hate us.” Alden took a deep breath and slumped his shoulders. He managed to relax his tense muscles. “I will protect you, Alpha King. I won’t let anyone hurt you.”

My left l*p lifted. “Thank you very much, Beta.”

My gaze fell on the increasingly crowded traditional market, and the smell of roast beef made my stomach growl.

“You know I’m very protective of our clan.” I glanced at Alden. “My late father was very kind. When he told me he had the idea of inviting rogues and werewolves to join us, I asked my father not

allow them to become warriors. I wanted the Lycans to rule over

the kingdom’s security.”

Admiration shone in Alden’s eyes. He gave me a thumbs-up and smiled broadly. “Your thinking is great, Alpha. It’s been me all along,” he shook his head. “Not only me, but everyone is wondering why only Lycans can become warriors.”

“Now you know the answer.” I glared at him and threatened him. “Keep this secret until you die.”

Alden nodded. “Don’t worry, Alpha King. I will never betray you. I have sworn to always be with you to protect this kingdom and the Lycans.”

“I trust you.”

We cannot guarantee that the rogues and werewolves who are our members are good people and will not do evil to us, Lycan.

Secretly, the generals formed a team of warriors tasked with keeping an eye on the rogues and werewolves. If they discover this, they will be disappointed in us because we promised to believe in them. However, we only want to protect the Lycan.

It’s not just Alden who is suspicious of werewolves, but all the Lycans in this kingdom. also have that feeling.

Long ago, several werewolf packs destroyed several Lycan kingdoms. The past is still vivid in our minds.

Werewolves have never attacked our kingdom, but we witnessed how Lycans from

other kingdoms fared. Thirty percent of the Lycans in this kingdom come from the kingdom destroyed by the werewolves.

I should hate werewolves as much as any other Lycan, but my father had a good heart. and asked me to promise.

I even had to accept the wrath of another kingdom’s Alpha King since I followed in my father’s footsteps by accepting werewolves to join our members.

“Here are the documents, Alpha King.”

I raised my face from the laptop to meet Karalyn’s eyes. “Thank you, Karalyn.”

“That is my job, Alpha King.” Karalyn smiled gently.

I promised a friend that I would not invite a werewolf to join us, that I would leave it to the warriors and generals, but I broke my vow. I brought that woman into my kingdom without hesitation.

Maybe I pity her. Her mate rejected her and kicked her out of the pack just because her weight was not like that of women in general.

Then I made her my secretary. If my friend finds out, he will strangle me according to the agreement. I hope he’s not interested in coming to see me, and when I go to his kingdom, I won’t bring Karalyn.

“You’ve worked hard, Karalyn. You can rest. I don’t want you to faint again,” I said.

Karalyn smiled embarrassedly while scratching her n*eck. “I promise I won’t faint again.”

“Don’t go on an extreme diet, Karalyn. Even though we, Lycans, don’t have wolves, we know how werewolves and rogues switch bodies with their wolves. You guys need a lot of energy, and eating is a source of energy. We can only eat meat as our main food.”

I looked into the amber eyes of Karalyn, who was standing in front of my table. Karalyn nodded.

“We are not humans who can survive on vegetables and fruit.” My gaze returned to the laptop. “I do not want you to get sick.” I didn’t want Karalyn to think I stopped. supporting her, who was struggling to lose weight.

“Thank you very much for caring about me, Alpha King.” Karalyn formed a wide smile. that revealed two dimples on her cheeks. “I will increase my time for sports.”

Karalyn is gorgeous and sweet to me. Why does her mate reject her solely because of her weight? I don’t grasp his thought.

“I’m sure the Moon Goddess will give you a new mate who will accept you as you are.” I

won’t get bored of saying that to Karalyn.

She should know that not all men are like her previous mate. Many guys are drawn to women because of their generosity or other qualities rather than their physical looks..

“I will always remember that, Alpha King.” Karalyn’s l*ps smiled, contrasting the sadness. that flashed in her eyes.

Delrico Moore, an Alpha of the Gray Sea Pack. I was shocked when I learned that Karalyn’s previous mate was that man.

So far, Karalyn has never told me about her life, especially her mate, who has rejected her.

I do not regret accepting Alpha Jacob’s invitation and taking Karalyn with me.

Alpha Delrico has got karma. The woman he truly loves chooses her mate.

I smile mockingly whenever I remember Alpha Delrico throwing a rampage and fighting with his girlfriend’s mate. Then he begged his girlfriend and said he had rejected Karalyn. He hoped his lover would do the same as him.

I was in complete shock. It turns out that Alpha Delrico’s girlfriend is Karalyn’s cousin. That guy is such a bast ard.

I’m very satisfied when I know a criminal has gotten his karma.
