Chapter 1172
Yvonne showed Nina the message, and the commanding tone in Joe's words was unmistakable.
"You're not going," Nina said firmly. "What's he going to do about it? Even if he somehow finds this place, we have Nash here, and worst-case scenario, Nigel can help too, right?"
Nina's instincts told her there was something unspoken and troubling between Yvonne and Joe. She didn't push for details, but she wasn't about to let her friend fall deeper into a bad situation.
Yvonne, who deep down had no desire to see Joe, hesitated for a moment before deleting the message.
Back in the hotel lobby, Nigel approached them, holding a bouquet of roses behind his back.
"Yvonne, I wish you happiness every day and a handsome guy like me to brighten your life," he said with a playful grin, handing her the flowers.
"I've been wanting to give you roses for a while but could never find the right moment. Then I heard from Mr. York that you had a close call recently, and it really shook me. So I figured, why wait for the perfect moment? Sometimes, you just have to go for it." Yvonne instinctively wanted to refuse, but Nina quickly took the flowers and handed them back to her. She leaned in and whispered, "Just enjoy the moment. Don't overthink it, okay?"
Yvonne nodded, though she still felt uneasy about accepting the bouquet.
The three of them returned to their seats. Nina sat beside Nash, leaving Yvonne to sit with Nigel on the opposite side. The atmosphere felt a bit off, and Yvonne couldn't shake the urge to escape.
Suddenly, Nigel pulled out a necklace from nowhere, announcing with flair, "Ta-da! This is the first necklace designed by a famous French designer. Consider it my first gift to you."
Yvonne was caught off guard, unsure of how to respond. For a brief moment, she thought about accepting it, but her rational side held her back.
Just then, the hotel doors burst open. Joe stormed in, radiating anger. "Didn't you get my message?"
"I don't know what you're talking about," Yvonne replied calmly.
She remained seated with Nigel blocking the way, confident that Joe couldn't do anything to her from where he stood.
Joe couldn't reach her, but when his eyes landed on the necklace she wore, his anger flared. His gaze burned with jealousy, his eyes turning a deep red.
"Who is he? And why did he give you that necklace?" he demanded, his voice dripping with bitterness.
Yvonne, sensing his jealousy, smirked. "Not only did he give me a necklace, but he also gave me roses."
She picked up the bouquet and inhaled deeply before flashing a smile. "He said if I wanted, he'd be my rock for life."
Joe's eyes narrowed as he shot a venomous glare at Nigel, who remained cool with a smug smile playing on his lips.
Nigel could sense the jealousy emanating from Joe, but he was confident that Yvonne would choose him over Joe. Casually, he cleared his throat and asked Yvonne, "The desserts here are pretty good Would you like to try some
Joe scoffed. "How ridiculous. If you were serious, you wouldn't ask. You'd just do it. Actions speak louder than flowery words."
He moved to circle the table and approach Yvonne, but Nigel quickly slid his chair back, blocking Joe's path.
"Move aside," Joe growled.
Nigel grinned, unfazed. "And if I don't?"
"Then don't blame me for what
happens next," Joe snarled, his temper flaking. He made a move to act, but before he could, he suddenly swayed. His vision was spinning, and he collapsed to the floor
"Get him to a hospital!" Yvonne cried out in panic.

Nash immediately scooped up Joe and rushed outside. He knew that if anything happened to Joe there, Winona would surely blame Yvonne, and her life would be anything but peaceful moving forward.
