CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 1142

The men sized up Lydia, and upon noticing her beauty, their faces immediately lit up with suggestive smiles. "So, this is Miss Fay."

"Miss Fay, you're quite young to have secured such a close position with Mr. York. You must be something special."

Lydia's expression remained unchanged. She had heard these kinds of remarks and seen these looks more times than she could count. If she let every one of them get to her, she would have been driven crazy long ago.

Quincy's eyes turned cold as he spoke up. "Lydia earned her role as Mr. York's secretary through sheer ability. In fact, she's even more capable than I am, and Mr. York holds her in high regard."

Lydia was taken aback, glancing over at Quincy. She hadn't expected him to stand up for her, let alone praise her at his own expense.

The men quickly caught on, with one of the executives still grinning. "You're right, Mr. Quincy. It seems you're quite fond of Miss Fay."

Lydia's eyes grew cold. She had no intention of arguing with them, but they were still objectifying her, just shifting their target.

Quincy had already stepped in to defend her, and if she stayed silent now, it would only make her look weak.

She lifted her head and spoke firmly. "Gentlemen, it seems we're getting off track. The reason I'm here today is to represent Mr. York in evaluating this factory. Whether or not you receive his investment and whether your products are selected are what really matter, don't you think?"

Hearing that the discussion had shifted to matters of profit, they finally stopped making those ambiguous remarks.

They quickly straightened up. "You're absolutely right, Miss Fay. Mr. York won't be disappointed if he chooses us. Our factory has a complete production line..."

As they talked, they led Lydia and

Quincy through the factory, showcasing the facilities. Both Lydia

and Quincy began forming their assessments. It was no wonder Mr. York had sent them to inspect this factory. It had impressive overall capabilities.

Lydia caught Quincy's eye, and they exchanged a look of understanding.

After the tour, the factory manager asked with a smile, "Mr. Quincy, what do you think of our operation?"

Quincy's voice was measured. "Overall, it seems to meet expectations."

The manager's smile broadened. Earning such a comment from Quincy was a sign that they were on the right track.

Sensing an opportunity, the manager continued, "Mr. Quincy, as you can see, we've made significant investments here. With the quality of our products, the initial pricing we discussed really doesn't leave us with much profit."

At this point, if Quincy didn't catch

on to the underlying message, it would be a real oversight. His expressión immediately cooled. These men were trying to change the terms of a deal that had already been agreed upon. It was a blatant sign of disrespect.

He narrowed his eyes and said icily, "So, you're saying you want to raise the price?"

fel?

The manager's smile remained unchanged as he said, "Mr. Quincy, perhaps you could reconsider. We have our challenges too, and if this deal goes through, it could be beneficial for you as well. I'm sure we could arrange a little kickback."

Quincy's expression grew even colder. He felt deeply insulted.

What on earth gave these people the idea that they could buy him off with a small bribe?
