Chapter 1636
He said, “Okay.”
“Shelia, have you thought about how you’ll be my girlfriend?”
“Do you really have that much confidence, Mr.
Sullivan?” As Rachel finished speaking, an unexpected bidder from the back row raised their paddle.
The host prepared to close the deal, stopped upon seeing the new bid, and checked the name list to verify the bidder’s identity.
“Mr.
Moran, what’s your offer?”
“Seven million one hundred and ninety thousand.”
Odin’s gaze grew dark.
He shifted his attention to the self- proclaimed Mr.
Moran, realizing that he was a complete stranger to him.
“Who is he?” Odin glanced at his assistant and asked.
Leaning in, the assistant whispered, “He’s a relative of the Moran family.
They sent him to attend the auction on their behalf as they’re dealing with some matters.”
“The Moran family? Isn’t Moran Group on the brink of bankruptcy? And isn’t the Scott family suing them?” Odin narrowed his eyes and said,
“It appears Carson will lose the case.”
The assistant didn’t say anything.
Rachel was slightly surprised.
She had asked Quintin to find someone to bid on her behalf, expecting Odin to give up if the price went higher than his bid.
She hadn’t anticipated that Quintin would seek help from the Moran family.
“Eight million and ninety thousand.” Odin let out a disdainful snort, showing his lack of regard for the Moran family, and confidently raised his plate once again.
“Eight million and ninety thousand! Mr.
Sullivan has made a bid!
Anyone else?”
“Eight million two hundred and forty thousand,” Mr.
Moran declared softly, lifting his plate.
“Twelve million.” Suddenly, a low voice from the front row caught everyone’s attention.
Everyone gasped.
The price of the hairpin had skyrocketed to the highest bid of the evening, which was indeed an unexpected turn.
Everyone’s gaze instinctively turned to the front row, curious to see who was willing to shell out such an amount for the hairpin.
Rachel’s eyes followed the crowd, looking to the source of the voice.
The number one bidding paddle, which had been lifted moments ago, was now lowered.
The auctioneer announced, “Mr.
Gibson bids twelve million.
Does anyone wish to go higher?”
Alberto was the man behind the number one plate.
