Can't Win Me Back (Isabella and Nathan)

Chapter 39

Isabella took a bite of her pizza and casually glanced at Nathan. "You, born with a golden key, eating abalone and bear paws every day-aren't you enjoying life even more than I am?" "..."

Nathan:

"Can you even compare with me?"

Nathan muttered under his breath, his voice low but still full of arrogance, which irritated Isabella. She frowned.

She gave him a disdainful look. "Am I missing a heart? Or maybe an eye? Nathan, we're both human beings, so be kind. We're equals. You're not more noble than I am." Nathan was taken aback, but his handsome face darkened immediately. "Sharp-tongued. If you're so capable, stop being a parasite."

Isabella retorted, "I'm your wife. Your income is half mine. I'm using your money, and it's completely legal. If you don't like me being a parasite, then why don't you divorce me?" Nathan choked on his words, stunned by her boldness. He had never imagined that the Isabella who used to be so pliable would now defend her interests so fiercely with the law.

He had a sinking feeling-Isabella was no longer as easy to control as before.

After finishing her breakfast, Isabella gracefully stood up, turned, and left the dining room.

Nathan glanced at the messy dining table and exploded in frustration. "Isabella, clean up the table!"

Without looking back, Isabella responded, "I'm Mrs. Hill, not a maid of the Hill family. Let the maid handle that."

"Isabella, don't think that just because of your little favor to Victoria, I'll keep tolerating you without limits. I'm warning you if you don't understand your place, don't blame me for not remembering our past. I will divorce you. And when that happens, don't come crying to me begging for reconciliation."

Furious, Nathan kicked the sofa leg.

Isabella's voice floated back, light as air: "Nathan, who cares about your tolerance? If you can't stand me, then divorce me."

"Gladly," Nathan spat, fuming.

**Scene Transition to the Sanchez family Hotel:**

It was a leisurely weekend when two distinguished young men arrived at the Sanchez family Hotel.

Guillermo and Theodore ran into each other at the entrance. Guillermo immediately narrowed his eyes, sizing up Theodore warily. "Theodore, this hotel was transferred to me by my father. What are you doing here?" Theodore smirked, a thin line of disdain curling at the corner of his lips. "Guillermo, what are you so nervous about?"

"Well, of course, anyone would be worried about something that doesn't belong to them-worrying it might be taken back by the original owner."

Guillermo's face flushed with rage. "What nonsense! This hotel belongs to me now. My father handed it over to me, so I'm the rightful heir."

Without warning, Theodore threw a punch at him. "Guillermo, watch your mouth."

He despised those who lived off his mother's wealth without showing any respect for her.

"If it weren't for my mother, your dad would be nothing but a penniless 'phoenix man.' Your father eats soft rice, relying on my mother's dowry to get rich, yet now he turns his back on her." Theodore didn't know where the strength came from, but he pummeled Guillermo to the ground with a few well-placed blows.

The bodyguards rushed over to break up the fight.

"Master Theodore, please calm down."

Guillermo howled in pain, "You brat, how dare you hit me? Isn't my dad also your dad? I'm going to tell him how you've been scheming against him behind his back." Theodore kicked him again. "Tattletale."

The bodyguards quickly pulled Theodore away while Guillermo scrambled to his feet, glaring at Theodore with fury.

"You better watch out, I swear I'll kick you out of the Sanchez family. One day, you'll need me!"

Theodore sneered. "Dream on."

"Guillermo, who needs whom in the end? We'll see."

With that, Theodore straightened his clothes and walked away, leaving the enraged Guillermo behind.

Guillermo's gaze, sharp as a venomous snake, was fixed on Theodore. The moment Theodore entered Isabella's guest room, Guillermo's temper flared up instantly. "Who's staying in that room?" he asked suspiciously.

"Sir," the assistant leaned in and whispered into Guillermo's ear. "The one staying in there is the young lady you asked us to inquire about."

Guillermo's mind immediately flashed with the image of a fashionable woman. A strong sense of jealousy seeped into his voice: "How does he know her?"

The assistant replied, "Who knows?"

Theodore knocked on the guest room door, and Ava opened it for him.

"Ava, where's my Sis?" Theodore asked.

Ava looked frustrated. "She went back to the Hill family."

Theodore's expression tightened, and he asked, his voice tinged with barely contained anger: "She still can't forget about him? He's just a dog, why's she still thinking about him after all this time?" Ava shook his head. "No, it's not like that. She went back to gather evidence."

"Evidence?"

"Yes, without evidence of the scumbag's infidelity, it'll be hard for her to divorce him. She'll be in a passive position."

Theodore's face softened slightly, though a cloud of gloom remained. "That old fox is tricky. My Sis is pure-hearted; how can she be a match for him?"

He sneered lightly. "If she wants evidence of the prince's infidelity, I'll deliver it to her. No need for her to bother."

Ava was stunned.

He thought to himself: The prince has always been scheming and calculating. There's no way he'd easily hand over evidence of his infidelity to the young master. Before leaving, Theodore made sure to remind Ava, "Tell my Sis to protect herself."

**At the Hill family Villa:**

Nathan, rarely without business to attend to, sat in front of the TV watching a legal program. Suddenly, Victoria appeared, adding a touch of sweetness and color to his otherwise dull day. "Nathan, where's my Sis? I heard she's back, so I came to see her."

After entering the house, Victoria's gaze kept darting toward the upstairs.

Nathan, still simmering from his frustration with Isabella, spoke with irritation when her name came up. "Don't mention her. She's been abroad for two years, and while others may be gilded with success, she's come back smelling of rust." Victoria wasn't really concerned about her Sis-her visit was just an excuse to ingratiate herself with Nathan. She boldly sat next to him, her gentle and demure demeanor on full display. "Nathan, what's wrong? Did my Sis upset you?" Nathan's face darkened.

Isabella had a special talent for making him angry.

But as a man, he had no desire to argue with her. "It's nothing. Just small things."

Victoria's eyes darkened slightly. "You're always so tolerant of her. You're only encouraging her arrogance."

Nathan's voice was quiet and heavy. "Who else would I owe but her?"

Victoria became agitated. "Nathan, the one who owes her is me, not you. You haven't owed her anything... If she bothers you again, don't worry about my feelings. Punish her however you want I won't blame you."

For a brief moment, a flash of confusion crossed Nathan's eyes. Was it really true? Did he not owe Isabella anything?

At that moment, a thunderous noise suddenly came from upstairs.

Both Nathan and Victoria jumped in surprise at the loud, overwhelming noise.

It turned out that after finishing her meal, Isabella had returned to her room and cranked the music volume to the maximum, making the entire building seem like it was shaking.

"Isabella, what are you doing?!" Nathan shouted angrily.
