Chapter 40: Jeans
Aiden's POV
I watched my mate as she sleeps on my shoulder. She looked so peaceful, she's like an angel fallen right beside me.
Lucky me.
Soft knocks outside our bedroom door was heard. I slowly shifted my weight to ease Ashira off my shoulder, minding not to wake her up. I covered her naked wholeness with blanket and she let out a groan, her body moved a bit but she didn't stir. Before another knock transpire, I ran fast to the door, opened it and caught sight of Nick's face with his fist in the air.
"Be quiet." I ordered in a low still voice. He nodded and took a step back as I walked out of the room and gently closes the door.
I'm not sure why Nick's knocking on my door at this time of the night when he clearly know that I don't want to be disturbed. I just hope he’s not here to whine about their trip tomorrow.
"What is it?" I asked after the door lock has clicked. I studied his expression and that face tells me something was not right. "What's the problem?"
I walked away from the bedroom to move this conversation somewhere else. Nick followed right behind me.
My eyes caught Seth at the living room, talking to his phone. He looked at me with knotted forehead and I knew something was up.
"Ravenous pack are asking for permission to enter the territory, Aiden.” Nick said behind me. I snapped my head to him, shocked.
"They are what?!" My voice roared. Did I heard it right? Why would that weak pack be asking permission to enter my land?
"They're at the North Border. This is so sudden, the treaty will be renewed in a few days. They have no business to come here now." Nick announced.
I took a deep breath. Fucking calm yourself, wolf.
'My mate! They'll find out about my mate!" my wolf whined over and over again asking for me to hide Ashira.
The anger I have towards Elon was surpassed by the thought of Ashira and the danger she might be in if I let that bastard here.
What the fu-
Okay, I need to be calm. There is no matter to attend on my pack for them to come here unannounced.
"How many?" I asked.
Seth walked near us and it seems he just finished talking with someone on the phone. "Alpha Elon and his gamma, plus four more wolves. They just made the second call.”
The second call means they already asked for permission twice. It was rude for an Alpha to let another wait but I'm always an exception.
I don't fucking want him at my land. And that should end this discussion.
Without any second thoughts, I wired the guard up North inside my head.
“Permission Denied. Tell that to that Alpha.’
“Copy, Alpha Aiden.’
"Aiden?" Nick called. "We can't wait for a third call. That's against the rules.”
"They won't make a third call, Nick. I already refused the request.” I growled and walked to the kitchen to grab something to drink. A terrified Nick followed me and I did my best not to mind him. "Can you do that? That was rude, Aiden. You know its against the law. You can't-"
"I already did. I don't care about the law, Nick. They can only enter my land if they got invited. Surprise visits are out of Elon’s option, he knew he shouldn't be here at the first place.”
Nick sighed but didn't utter another word. I don't need it neither.
Yes, we did entered a peace treaty with Elon's pack but that was against my resolve. If it weren't for my pack and their safety, I wouldn't permit it. But again, I only advances to the peace, not to being friendly with that filthy wolf who called himself an Alpha.
For me, the birth of his title was a joke.
Seth came to the kitchen with a phone handing right at me. "Alpha Elon requests to talk.” he announced.
My jaw clenches. Fucking old man.
"Elon." I said as I withdrawn my own growl. I'm irritated. Badly irritated. This guy was a living proof of every sin I could recite. And having the blood of who killed my parents in his veins aggravate the hatred I have towards him.
"Aiden, your wolf here," I heard him scoffed. "said that my request to enter Prime land was denied, is that your order?" I could here every sarcasm in his voice but I didn't let it get through me.
I sighed and cracked my neck. "Yes. You got a problem with it?"
There was a short moment of silence on his part before he burst on laughter. "Don't get too hyped, Aiden. I was just... visiting."
I bet this devil was grinning wide.
"Surprise visits aren't my thing, Elon. Go bug other pack for it."
A loud laughter roared from the other line that went up my veins. My other hand gripped on the marble kitchen table and I almost crush the poor thing. I inhaled and hissed quietly, not letting him know he's getting under my sleeve. I'm not giving him that satisfaction.
"Fine. Fine. I only wanted to say hello." he laughed once more. "I'll get going now but I'll be back in a few days.”
I hated how his voice sounded. He made it seem threatening but it only annoyed me even more. "I'll see you then." I said and hung up. “Fucker.”
I sighed and drank some water, trying to calm my nerves on the process. Thanks God, it didn't. "Just let him be. He's like that ever since." Seth asserted.
"That guy is way insecure of you. He kept getting into your nerves because you got the title earlier than his age.” Nick added.
I grunted and started walking away from these two. "Where are you going?" They asked.
"Wake me up once both of you start uttering some sense.” I said and both of them laughed as I exit the kitchen.
"If we're still alive tomorrow, Alpha." Seth said, laughing.
I laughed and ignored them both. Why are they so bothered to pick up two rogues? Tss... Pussies. I'm drifting to what my wolf wants to do right now. And that was to be right beside my Luna. Ashira's POV
A soft tender kiss on my shoulder awoke me and I don't need to know who it was. Only one man can make my hair spiked up like this.
"Wake up, baby." he said. I smiled and slowly opened my eyes. The sun was almost up and the way the dark and light created a tangerine shade captivates me. The view tranquil my heart instantly and I knew this day would be awesome.
The arms that was wrapped on my waist had tightened, like the man behind me was saying that he was there. That I shouldn't be captured by the sunrise alone, but with him as well.
The thought made me giggle.
"Someone woke on the right side of the bed.” he teased but I can feel the smile on his voice. His arm tightened even more and I was fully scooped by his body. "What more if you heard the news." he whispered.
I paused and turn my head towards him but his embrace restrict my movement to meet his eyes. His nose was buried on my hair and he chuckled from my response.
"What is it?" I whispered, hiding the eagerness to know what he got to spill upon hearing that it will build my day more.
He loosened his hug and put some distance between us so that I could look at him. Aiden was giving me a smug smile which made me bit the insides of my cheek, forming a slight pout on my lips.
"Zynia has arrived with Zeke an hour ago.” He reached for some strands of hair on my face and brushed it gently off my face.
I can't stop my gasp upon hearing that someone like myself, a stealer, was already here! I'm near to someone who I can talk about with. Whom I can ask of things I'm been bothered and confused about.
"They're here!?" I attempted to move, but he cupped my face and with less force, he turned my head back to him.
"At the basement, yes. But you can't see her yet."
I frowned. "Why?"
He moved closer to my body, his hand on my cheek run down to my shoulder and settled on my back. "I need to make sure there's no threat. And my blood is needed to cure the stea--Zynia. That's what they came here for so we'll settle that first.”
I gulped when he almost said “stealer’. He's not erratic about what am I, right? It's probably just me overthinking...
"Okay..." I said, letting go of what almost slipped his lip and how it sounded.
His hand went to my nape and drew me closer to plant a soft wet kiss on my forehead. "Get ready and be down for breakfast.” he breathed on my hair, squeezed my nape a little before letting me go.
I just watched him walked out of the room without minding to put a shirt on. If my head was not thinking things it shouldn't, I might've adore that perfect bare back.
The moment the door closes, I let out a huge sigh and lay flat on my back with my arms rested above my head.
Was it just me or did I heard a hint of irritation in Aiden's voice upon saying stealer?
I looked at the glass wall and tried appreciating the light from the rising sun but couldn't. My head was clouded with every thoughts which I shouldn't have.
Argh. This will blow my mind in pieces. I should take a cold shower.
Aiden's POV
I almost mess up. I know.
I lived with the thought that stealers are bad for the wolf society. I never bothered to know more about that abnormality until I met Ashira.
And now, I should start breaking the habit of sounding like I'm angered by stealers. Now that I have one as my mate, and that I trusted her, I should be sensible before uttering any words which her abnormality involves.
"Good morning, Alpha Aiden.” Aurea bowed to me when I entered the kitchen. I nodded at her and headed to the coffeemaker. Upon grabbing a cup, I've thought that the visitors will need some caffeine to start their days, too.
“Nick? Are you awake?" I used the mind link to communicate but I got no response from him. He's probably sleeping.
Seth went back to his mate after the safely transfer of Zynia and Zeke at The Ancestral. I can't ask him to come here and serve the rogues. He's been away from Ava for a while already.
And now that I think of it, since the two must stay at the basement for confidential visit, I need someone to...
I looked at Aurea and watched as she cooks breakfast. Should I tell her? She's been loyal to me ever since her mate died.
But can I trust her? Her husband was killed from the war which started because of stealers but did she still hate them? Or did she?
Now that I've thought of this, we didn't let her know that Ashira's a stealer.
No, this is not a good idea. The fewer who knows that my mate is a stealer, the lesser chance for danger she may be in. The fewer who knows that Zynia is in my custody, the lesser chance that my people panic or cause rebellion towards this situation.
"You need something, Alpha Aiden?" Aurea asked. I blinked and cleared my throat as I realized that I was dozing off.
I shook my head and looked back to the coffeemaker. "Nothing, Au. Are you joining us for breakfast later?" I asked, diverting the topic so she wouldn't question my behaviour.
"You know I never do, Alpha Aiden.” She chuckled.
"You should join us sometimes."
Au just hummed and continued her cooking. She never eat with us at the same table, and I never forced her to. I know she’s most comfortable at serving me as she devoted her life for it.
I guess the visitors will have their coffee late today.
I'll have Nick arrange a tiny kitchen for them later so they could cook of their own. I didn't think this through. Oh well, the time was limited for it.
Or maybe I should just tell Aurea so... Damn it. No.
IT TOOK me a cup of coffee and numbers of thoughts before I sensed Ashira. She just got out of the bedroom and her scent lingers everywhere. I closed my eyes and silently inhaled the air with her intoxicating smell.
It's not just the mating's power. Ash have this natural body scent like of a maple syrup and cucumber mixed.
"Your scent is making me famished.'
I heard her footstep halted briefly when I reached her though our mind portal. She's always like this every time I'll suddenly reached her mind. Sometimes I will hear her pulse beat faster, or louder and it make my mood beam.
'You're smelling the pancakes and bacon, baby." She replied with a chuckle.
The way she called me “baby’ made my cock twitched under my pants, almost making my already hardened manhood burst. She's teasing me the way I did before when we're talking about Zeke's case and that made me smirk.
'I'm sure its you I'd want to eat. Not the food, baby.’
I heard her laugh and turned my head to the side where she popped out with the widest grin.
"It's too early to do that eating.” She said as she walked to me. I had no time to respond to that because her figure distracted my thoughts right away.
My eyes travelled down her body and I shifted on my seat when my cock twitched once more. Damn that jeans for hugging her curves perfectly.
"Come here." I said, leaning on the backrest to see her clearly. Her grin fades as her cheeks turned red. I can sense her temperature has risen and her heartbeat pulses faster.
I thought she'll block my invitation but she didn't stopped walking to me, it only got slower but she did.
When she's right in front of me, I grabbed her wrist, pulled her and she dropped right on my lap. Her perfect round butt was right on my hard-on and I bet those thick fabric of her jeans are useless because she gasped as she felt it.
I smirked at her when her eyes dropped on my mine, forming a round shocked look.
"Aiden!" she complained half-heartedly and I just chuckled before burying my face on her drop- loose hair.
"You should stop wearing those jeans..." I whispered. I can feel her body stiffened when I inhaled right to her skin.
"W-Why?"
"If you're on your dress, I'll definitely be buried deep inside you now."
