Bridging Worlds: Book 1 Celestoria's Time

Chapter Crafted Machinations

Within the concealed confines of Elysum’s secret hideout, an air of anticipation permeated the space as he conveyed the success of their carefully orchestrated diversionary tactics. “My lord, it was effective. We’ve successfully redirected Vernit’s attention. Now I can proceed with the plan to assassinate the Grand Prince,” reported a loyal subordinate with a mix of excitement and trepidation.

The dark entity, a shadowy figure lurking in the depths, expressed satisfaction with the outcome. Its ominous voice resonated, “But that’s not all.” The entity added a layer of cryptic complexity to the unfolding events, saying, “Someone will approach the Grand Prince on your brother’s behalf—a man.” Intrigued, Elysum responded with a hint of arrogance, “A man... likely Rojan, Vernit’s adopted son. But he poses no threat to my plan; he is weak.”

However, the dark entity, harboring secrets in the shadows, revealed a twist that stirred Elysum’s unease. “But he is not alone. He is accompanied by a woman, and my power cannot decipher her.” Puzzled, Elysum furrowed his brow. “A woman... there is no woman in the Darkbane tribe.”

Both Elysum and the dark entity found themselves consumed by curiosity, recognizing that this unforeseen development introduced an unpredictable element into the unfolding narrative. The enigmatic presence of Rosche, accompanying Rojan, was a wildcard. Her identity and purpose were shrouded in mystery, adding an unexpected layer of complexity to Elysum’s meticulously crafted plans.

Meanwhile, in the village that had fallen victim to Elysum’s diversionary tactics, Vernit arrived to witness a scene of utter chaos. Elysum was nowhere to be found, but a handful of bandits, undoubtedly under Elysum’s influence, were ruthlessly attacking the villagers. Swiftly, Vernit and his men engaged the assailants, overpowering them in a fierce clash that echoed with the clash of steel against steel.

In the aftermath of the skirmish, Vernit left one bandit alive, sternly inquiring, “Where is Elysum?” Terrified and trembling, the bandit insisted he had no knowledge of Elysum’s whereabouts, claiming he had been misled with false promises of gold in the village. Vernit, perceptive and quick to decipher the deception, realized it was Elysum’s cunning ploy.

Mounting his horse with a renewed sense of urgency, Vernit set off toward the location of the Grand Prince. Determined to thwart Elysum’s sinister intentions, Vernit rode through the rugged terrain, the echoes of the village skirmish still resonating in his mind. Unbeknownst to him, the intricate web of deceit and manipulation spun by Elysum was drawing tighter, setting the stage for a confrontation.
