Chapter 15
Lisa p.o.v.
Crossing my arms I wait till these idiots try something. I still can’t believe they managed to knock me unconscious. By the time I woke up I was on a private jet back to America. I tried to overpower the crew but they were better prepared than I expected. So for the time being I decided to go along with this. Not long after we landed. The door of the plane opened and one of the men wearing the same uniform as the rest entered. He walked straight to me. He held me by the arm as he attempted to pull me along.
“If you know what’s good for you, you’ll take your hands off me.” I growled staring at his hand on my arm. Not letting go he attempted to push me toward the door. Prying his fingers off my arm I twisted his arm till he’s with his face against the wall. With a tug I push his joint out of the socket and he screamed. Letting him go he falls to the ground. Within seconds the rest of the men surround me. “I can walk on my own just point me to the right direction. And don’t make the mistake of touching me.” Rolling my eyes I walk past the wall of men in front of me. We exit the private plane. Walking toward the car I notice the extent my kidnapper had gone for security.
Getting in the car I see the person responsible for my state currently.
“What do you want from me?” I ask as he’s staring at my face. He still makes my skin crawl but I don’t let him notice. Ever since that night at the party with Ace I’ve had a feeling I would be seeing this man soon and I was right.
“Owh doll…”
“Don’t…” I cut him off. “Don’t call me that.” I grumble to him. I really don’t care what he calls me but giving him the illusion that he can get to me gives me a bit of an upper hand.
“Doll…” he smirked. “Having you with me is doing more for me that you can imagine so for now you’re staying with me.”
“No thank you.” I smile to him as I take the gun from his pocket and point it to him. His guard instantly takes out his and points it to me.
“It’s not wise to point and empty gun, doll.” His voice didn’t even waver.
Squinting my eyes I point it to his guard and shoot. The driver got frazzled by the sound and the car swerved. He knocked the gun from my hand and managed to restrain me.
“Let me go you asshole.” I struggle against the restraints.
“I don’t think I will, doll. And call me Mateo.” Rolling my eyes I scoffed. “This is going to be fun.” He muttered under his breath.
The rest of the ride went by in complete silence. When the car stopped someone opened the door on my side but I refused to move.
“Doll we can do this the easy way or the hard way and believe me I will enjoy the hard way more than you.” I heard Mateo say from beside me. Huffing I get out of the car. One of his men attempts to grab my arm but I move away and growl at him. He steps away. Mateo joins me with an amused smile on his face. He leads me inside of the mansion. What is it with these mafia men and their mansions? I roll my eyes. Suddenly my eye caught sight of a familiar face. What the fuck is he doing here? Without changing my expression I move forward. I knew there was a reason I never trusted him. I was led to a room when Mateo decided to remove the restraints from my hands.
“You should rest doll. I’ll visit you later so we can have a nice chat.” Mateo said and left the room without another word. His men stepped out and I heard the door being locked from outside.
Sighing I sit down on the bed as I scan my surroundings. As I was mentally calculating how to get out of here the door clicked open. I was half expecting Mateo to walk in but to my disappointment it was someone bringing a tray of food. Followed by Ace’s cousin Jack. Crossing my arms in front of me I waited for him to speak up. I knew we were being monitored.
“Does he know you’re here?”
“Probably.” I shrug.
“Any message for him?”
“Like I’d tell you.” I scoffed.
“Listen I’m probably the only ally here that can get you out.” He whispered harshly.
“What makes you think I need help to get out?” he stared at me with a strange expression on his face. “What are you even doing here?”
“I’m on a mission.” He said nonchalantly.
“Okay then keep doing that and just ignore me.” He stared at me for a moment before turning around and leaving. After a while Mateo entered the room. His eyes landed on the food tray, which I hadn’t touched, but he chose not to say anything about it.
“So are you finally going to disclose why I’m in this shitty room?”
“This isn’t even close to shitty, doll. You should be thankful I didn’t place you with the rest of the prisoners.” He sat on the chair and crossed his legs.
“What could I possibly have done to earn that privilege?” I mock.
“You really don’t want to try that with me. I’m not like that husband of yours. I don’t have patience for your bratty behavior.”
“Really don’t care. So Mateo are you going to say what you want from me or not?”
“Of course doll. I need you to sign these.” He took some papers from his pocket and handed them to me. I quickly skimmed through the contents and started laughing. He seemed a bit surprised seeing my reaction.
“You can’t be serious about this?”
“Why would I waste my time on something I’m not serious about?”
“Why do you want me to sign a paper stating I would be wed to you?”
“Why not?”
“You’re a funny guy.” I mock a smile toward him. This guy can’t be serious.
“Let’s see who will be laughing when you see a bullet through the head of that offspring of yours.”
“What are you trying to accomplish?” I squint my eyes staring at him.
“I will take everything that husband of yours holds dear till he has nothing and no one by his side. I want to ruin him without even having to touch him.”
“And you think me signing these will do something?”
“Doll, you don’t know how much it will bother him, do you?” he smirked. I shrugged it off.
“And what has he done to you that you want to ‘ruin’ him?”
“Who says he’s done something to me? Maybe I just want him off my path.”
“Me… I say there is something you are looking to gain from all this. And I’m guessing it’s something personal.”
He stared at me for a moment before getting up and leaving the room without saying a word.
