Chapter 4 A Dispute
Both Gavin and I were stunned. He bowed his head and looked at himself in disbelief. Then he looked up at me as if seeing a ghost. Finally, we both screamed at the same time.
I quickly bowed my head and appologized. I bowed in despair, not even daring to look into his face. I said, "I am sorry, Mr. Stone. I am sorry! It's all my fault. I'll help you clean it up!" Gavin resisted my touch and took a step back. Then something unexpected happened between us. His bath towel, already loose, slipped down. Gavin stood naked in front of me. My head suddenly exploded at the sight of his perfect body and I could not help but scream. Gavin shouted impatiently, "What are you screaming about? Haven't you ever seen it before?"
I did, but the scene was still too embarrassing, so I quickly turned away from him.
Gavin hurried to the bathroom and took a shower. After he got dressed, he stood in front of me, but I still thought he was naked. Every move made me want to leave. I shook my head and thought, "What is wrong with me today?" My mind was messed up, and even my body was soft and powerless.
Gavin sat down on the sofa casually and lowered his head. "What are you doing here so late at night? It's not a 'home service' specifically for me alone, right?"
"No, no," I denied quickly, "I just came to send you a document, which is my task. If I disturbed you, I appologize."
Gavin took the briefcase and did not ask me what it was. He just got up and went inside. Feeling a little embarrassed, I said to myself, "Well, Mr Stone, I will not bother you. I'll close the door for you. When your 'home service' comes, please open it yourself."
Whe hearing what I said, he turned back and squinted at me. I suddenly felt dangerous. I accidentally knocked off a delicate box in the porch. When I picked it up, I was in a cold sweat again. There was a diamond necklace inside.
I quickly picked up the box and put it back, praying that Gavin had not seen anything, but as soon as I turned around I heard him yelling. He tried to stop me and said, "Hey, just take it away. Just do me the favour!"
I was a little confused and did not know what he meant, so I turned to look at him. He said impatiently, "The necklace you dropped. It belonged to you. Here, please. Take it." "No, no, no. How can I do that? I can't take such an expensive thing."
"I am just giving it to you. Do not talk so much nonsense! If you do not like it, you can just throw it away. I feel uncomfortable whenever I see it. Take it as a form of help for me."
Gavin's determination made me feel a little strange. I was also thinking about his "home service" tonight. There's something fishy about that. How can a man like Gavin lack women to spend the night with? It seemed that he suffered some deep emotional pain before and he was just using the "home service" to distract himself.
I didn't continue to think about how beautiful and luxurious the original owner of this necklace was. It's not easy to forget a man like Gavin.
After I came out of Gavin's house, my face was hot from the wind blowing in the street. The uncomfortable feeling I had a while ago was gone. I wonder if I ate something bad today otherwise I would not keep throwing up like I was pregnant.
I made this joke to myself and kept it in my heart. Suddenly I realized that it might be possible. The uncomfortable feeling, the nausea, the vomiting, all indicated only one thing: pregnancy. It could not
