Chapter 20: The Show Of A Lifetime (Runway)

Oh my gosh, I can’t believe this!

I’m sitting on the patio and the maid just brought the mail to me, I got a letter about being in the fashion show coming up. It’s being held here in New York. This is so exciting, I’m jumping with joy, I can’t wait to tell everyone so they can come to see me model in the fashion show! I’m even going to tell my parents and my friends back home. I hope that my parents can forget their beliefs for a bit and just come and see me! I know Leila will, she’ll be so excited for me, I know it.

This letter made my day! I’m going to call Leila while John’s at work. I’ll give him the best surprise that he’ll never forget!

Before calling Leila, I had a quick thought, “I’m going to invite her here with all expenses paid.” I’m going to tell her this in person, I want to see her reaction when I tell her the great news! Leila answered my call on the second ring, ‘she must be excited to hear from me.‘

“Hello,” Leila answered.

“Hey girl, how are you?” I said.

“I’m good. How are you?” Leila said.

“I’m great. I have some great news to tell you!” I said.

“What. What is it? I’m dying to hear it,” Leila replied.

“Can you take some time off work?” I asked.

“I want you to come here so I can tell you the news in person! I will pay all expenses and you can stay with John and me.” I said.

Leila became silent for a moment.

“Are you serious?” Leila said.

“Yes, I’m a serious girl,” I replied.

“OMG. I’m going to call my boss as soon as we get off the phone. I will call you back after I talk to him,” Leila screamed in excitement.

“Okay. Just let me know as soon as possible so that I can book your flight,” I said.

“Okay. Bye,” Leila hurried and hung up the phone.

I’m so excited that she will be able to come to visit me in New York. She’s never been here, so I’m gonna show her how we have fun here! She’ll never want to leave. After talking to Leila I decided to call my mom.

My mom answered on the fourth ring.

“Hey, baby. How are you doing,” Mom asked?

“I’m a great mom. How are you and dad?” I replied.

“We are both good,” Mom said.

“I have some really good news to tell you,” I said.

“What is hunny?” Mom replied.

“I was picked to do a runway show here in New York for fashion week!” I said.

“I just don’t understand why you would want to show your body off like that!” Mom said in a sarcastic way.

“Mom, are you seriously going to start this? This is why I left and have nothing to do with you and dad,” I replied angrily.

“Well, Hunny. We have our own opinions of this and you know that,” Mom said.

After she said that, I instantly knew they were not going to come here, so I slammed the phone down and hung up.

I’m so done with them, I’ll never call her again! At least Leila is

coming!

No sooner than hanging up with my mom, Leila calls and tells me that she can get next week off! We both screamed with joy. I told her that I’m going to get off the phone and book her flight then give her the details. As soon as we hung up, I called the airline and booked her flight. I sent her a text with all the details. of the flight information.

Now, it’s time for me to go shopping. I’m going to pick up some wine, and something sexy to wear at dinner. John will want to jump out of his suit when he gets home! I called for John’s driver and he took me to the local liquor store. I picked out the best wine that they had. Then he dropped me off at Bloomingdales. I shopped for about an hour and found the sexiest dress they had. I’m sure John will flip over this dress. Then his driver dropped me off at home.

John will be arriving home in about an hour, so I’ll tell the maid

to cook us a perfect dinner, “she knows what his favorite dish is.” I showered and then put on the dress, it was a long, black dress cut down to my breasts with a slip going up to my thigh, my whole leg was practically showing. I put on a gold, thick. necklace with diamonds on the front. John is going to be stunned when he sees me. I’m going to wait for him at the dinner table and surprise him.

John arrived home. He walked inside the house and said to his maid, “Wow, it smells good in here, you must be making my favorite dish!” The maid said, “I am. Star thought you’d like it.” John walks into the dining room, he sees me sitting at the table with a glass of wine, my legs are crossed, my hair lays on my right shoulder, he walks behind me and kisses my neck.

“Damn, woman. You smell so good!” John whispered.

“Oh thank you,” I chuckled.

“Let me see you, stand up,” John said.

I stood up and he looked me up and down.

“F**K. You are the sexiest woman ever. You look gorgeous, I want to make love to you right now!” John said.

“I want you right now too. But wait. I have some really good news for you!” I replied.

I gave John the letter I received. He sat down and read it. His eyes became wide open, he looked up from the letter and looked at me, and said, “I knew you would get this opportunity. I‘ m excited for you!” Then we started to kiss passionately before our dinner arrived. John poured himself a glass of wine and we waited for dinner.
