Rebecca couldn’t stop thinking about Cathy’s words. What if Alicia had really drugged Harvey with sleeping pills?

“But he couldn’t have slept for 48 hours, right? I mean, he must have been conscious when he went to Alicia’s house because the guard at the office said he was driving,” Rebecca sighed deeply. “Shit! I really don’t know what actually happened,” she said, bowing her head and massaging her temples.

Cathy grimaced, as she was just as confused as Rebecca.

“We’ll meet Harvey at the office on Monday, okay? I’m sure by then we’ll have some answers,” she said, gently rubbing Rebecca’s shoulder.

Rebecca shook her head. “I don’t know, I have a feeling that Harvey won’t be coming to his office for a long time,” she said uncertainly.

“We’ll see. I’m sure there’s always an answer to every question; it’s a law of nature. Should we pick up Lily, or do you want to go somewhere?” Cathy asked, focusing on th road ahead.

“I was thinking of meeting Victoria and talking to her,” Rebecca replied, playing with her cold fingers.

“Now?” Cathy asked, surprised.

“I just saw on her social media that she’s nearby attending the Specter Foundation charity event. I’ll intercept her so she doesn’t have an excuse to avoid me. At least everyone knows I’m her daughter–in–law, so she has no choice but to play along,” Rebecca said flatly.

Cathy nodded. “Alright, show me the way, Maam!”

A few minutes later, they arrived at The Plaza Hotel. “Let’s go!” Cathy exclaimed as she parked the car.

Rebecca shook her head. “I told you, you can’t be seen getting too involved, Cathy. Wa somewhere nearby, and I’ll call you when I’m done,” she said firmly.

“Chloe, I’ll be in the ballroom in five minutes. This way!” Victoria called to her assistant, having no other choice. She opened a door marked logistics room‘ and entered. Rebecca followed her, her heart pounding. This was her first time meeting Victoria again after the cunning woman’s hospital drama.

They stood facing each other, arms crossed over their chests.

“Get to the point, I don’t have time to deal with you. Just because you’ve given birth to Harvey’s child doesn’t mean we’re family,” Victoria said coldly.

Rebecca snorted with laughter. “Just because I’m Harvey’s wife doesn’t mean I want a family relationship with you, so swallow your pride. I just want an explanation. What were you doing at Alicia’s house earlier? I know you’re behind all this,” she said sharply.

Victoria laughed. “You’re blaming me for your husband’s infidelity? Aren’t there many witnesses who saw Harvey leave his office of his own accord? He even drove his own car with Alicia sitting comfortably in the passenger seat,” she said cheerfully. She stepped closer, standing just a foot away

Listen to me carefully, Harvey doesn’t love you and he will soon divorce you!” she hissed, pressing her finger hard against Rebecca’s chest. “I have enough self–respect, so don’t worry, I’ll happily do it if those words come from Harvey’s mouth directly. I’ll give you 24 hours to make Harvey appear before me and explain everything. If he doesn’t come, I’ll report him to the authorities as a missing person and upload it on social media. People love drama, and I’ll be the protagonist!” Rebecca said, smiling slyly to intimidate Victoria.

“And one more thing, get your filthy hands off me!” she snapped, pushing Victoria’s hand away from her.

Victoria became very angry. She grabbed Rebecca’s arm hard, making her turn to face her, then slapped her hard on the cheek. Just then, the door opened, and three of the charity auction committee members stood at the door, their faces pale with shock at what they saw.

Rebecca held her hot cheek and then smiled at Victoria triumphantly. She leaned close to Victoria’s ear and whispered, “I will expose your true self and let the whole world know, just wait…”
