Chapter 26 Picky
On the other side, Wesley sat in the black car. The faint light from the phone screen was reflected on his face, making him look dire.
It was a call from a friend to urge him.
Wesley turned off the screen. He opened the car door and got out of the car.
The lights in the bar were colorful and dazzling. Wesley sat in a booth with his legs crossed gracefully, being out of tune with the men and women next to him.
“Wesley, can you be relaxed when you come out? You are sitting there with a stern face. Are you here to ask for debts?”
“Liam, you don’t know. As a married man, Wesley must be more reserved. Otherwise, his wife will lose her temper if she finds out something.”
A gloating smile appeared on Liam’s face. “I didn’t expect Wesley to step into the grave of love. What did you think?”
Wesley didn’t speak. He picked up the wine glass and took a sip. The light flashed past his eyes.
“Hey, Liam. Long time no see.” A man with gauze around his head greeted Liam with a flattering smile.
“Isn’t this Sam? I haven’t seen you for a few days. Why are you
Sam touched the gauze on his head. He smiled embarrassingly and said, “I was unlucky. Two days ago, I met a cripple in Owen’s bar, and he hit me.”
When Wesley heard “a cripple” in the corner, his eyes were fixed on Sam’s face.
Liam laughed and jokingly said, “You are getting weaker and weaker. You couldn’t even defeat a cripple.”
Sam blushed and hurriedly said, “How couldn’t I defeat him? He was just a brat. I would have disabled that brat if that woman didn’t rush out suddenly.
“The most irritating thing was that the bastards called the police. Therefore, I just came out of the police station today.”
“A woman?” Liam patted the table and pointed at Sam. He said, “I know. You wanted to sleep with the woman. You deserved it.”
Sam laughed and waved his hand. “Let’s not talk about that. Liam, who is this?”
Sam’s gaze fell on Wesley. Because of the dim lights, he couldn’t see Wesley clearly or recognize him. However, he felt Wesley familiar.
Liam clicked his tongue. “Sam, your head has been injured. Is there also something wrong with your eyes? How could you not even know Mr. Harrington?”
Sam was shocked. He hurriedly poured a glass of cocktail and handed it to Wesley. “Mr. Harrington, there must be something wrong with my eyes. You condescended to my bar. May I have
Wesley glanced at Sam but didn’t move.
Sam held the glass awkwardly with a flattering expression. Everyone was quiet.
Fortunately, Sam was smart enough. He withdrew his hand and poured the cocktail into his mouth. “I should punish myself
first.”
From the beginning to the end, Wesley remained expressionless.
Sam wanted to befriend Wesley brazenly, so he walked to Wesley and sat beside him. Sam asked warmly, “Mr. Harrington, is it your first time to be here? If there is anything wrong with the service, just tell me.”
Sam never thought that Wesley would answer his greeting
remarks.
Unexpectedly, Wesley said, “So noisy.”
“What?”
Liam said, “Wesley said you were noisy. Shut up, and stop talking.”
The smile on Sam’s face froze.
In the next second, Wesley said, “The music is noisy.”
Sam came to his senses, and the smile returned to his face. “I will tell them to turn down the music right now.”
“What I mean is…” Wesley turned to look at Sam. “Stop the
noisy?
If you dislike the noise, why are you here?”
Sam didn’t dare to say that, so he could only smile. “Mr. Harrington, there are so many guests. How can they have fun if the music stops?”
Liam also said, “That’s right. Wesley, don’t be picky.”
Wesley said nothing more. He took out a cigarette and put it in his mouth. Sam hurriedly picked up the lighter on the table to light the cigarette for Wesley.
Wesley looked up and glanced at Sam.
Sam smiled shamelessly and brought the lighter closer to Wesley. The flame jumped on, reflecting Wesley’s expressionless face.
In the next second, Wesley didn’t hold the cigarette securely, and the cigarette fell from his hand and landed on his clothes. The cigarette burnt a hole in the corner of his suit instantly.
Sam was shocked. He hurriedly threw away the lighter and went to help Wesley pick up the cigarette.
“Sam, what did you do?” Liam hurried over and asked with concern. “Wesley, are you OK?”
“I’m sorry. It is my fault.” Sam threw the cigarette on the ground and crushed it with his foot, feeling panicked.
Although it wasn’t Sam’s fault, he lit Wesley’s cigarette, which
but couldn’t figure out what the big shots were thinking.
It was hard to serve them.
Wesley walked out of the bar to cut off the deafening sound inside and instantly calmed down.
He took off his suit and threw it in the trash can.
The assistant behind saw that and stepped forward to await Wesley’s order. “Mr. Harrington.”
“Make this bar disappear in Azure City.”
Wesley’s voice was light, just as insignificant as his discarded suit.
The assistant narrowed his eyes and followed Wesley after answering, “Yes“.
“Mr. Harrington, are you going home?”
“Back to South Spring.” Wesley loosened the collar of his shirt and leaned on the seat. Then, he closed his eyes.
South Spring was located in the most prosperous street in the downtown area. It was Wesley’s private apartment. Most of the time, he returned there.
