Betrayed by My Pack – Wolfless Hybrids Escape

Chapter 85 –

Lena's POV Wednesday Morning

I almost got caught yesterday on the new packland. Chase ended up arriving at the fire way too fast. He left men there to investigate and see if any evidence was left behind. There won't be any, as I used gloves. I had a glass jar full of gas and a scarf that I pushed into it. I used the biggest glass jar I could find, as I needed it to continue to burn as long as it could, so I placed it right in the middle of the delivery and lit the soaked scarf on fire. I needed Adra to have time to get Robert to accept her. The plan was that she wanted him to mark and mate her while he was delirious. The plan was simple, or so I thought.I heard all about what happened when I returned home last night. I was horrified that Cara stopped Adra. Now Adra is locked up, The chance that she will roll over me is much bigger than it was. I can't stay here at Black Adder anymore. Jaxon would kill me when he finds out I planned this whole thing."If you're reading this on any site other than ob, this content has been stolen! Real fans know the latest updates and exclusive insights are always on Bob. Support original creators and visit the source." I wanted him, but I wanted to live, too. I won't be alive if I stay here. Jaxon is going to get that bitch to talk. I can't be here for the fallout from it. I quietly ate my dinner and listened to my father and brother discuss what happened. They were both shocked that someone in the pack would do such a thing here. Little did they know I was not just involved but was the mastermind. I was going to bring shame to my whole family, and I was not happy about it. I can't believe that Adra wasted so much time. That stupid bitch was making out with Robert instead of getting him to mark her. If she had just gone ahead and had sex with him, we would be fine. She got so caught up in Robert finally showing some interest in her that she honestly thought he cared about her. I knew it was all because of whatever was in those tea leaves. We were on a strict timeline. It worked at first, Saoirse did run away. The plan was for her to not return for a day or two, that was what we were aiming for. I have been planning this shit for a while now, and things were fine. Right up until Jana's stupid ass shot one of the most valuable members of the coven. Then I find out that Adra can't even follow through with simple commands. All she had to do was fuck Robert. How hard was that? He had been given some powerful drugs. He thought that she was Saoirse. How could she not get one simple thing done? Everything is completely unraveling for me now, all because of them.

All my best-laid plans were worthless now. Entirely because I didn't want to get caught with Luna and her sisters in my car. I approached Adra so she could just transport them all to the wall. Jana and Anika could then get them over the wall, and I would not have to be there. They could get it done, and I would be safe. I would not have to leave the ceremony. I had it all planned out whom I would talk to and when. I left nothing to chance.

I thought that I had been brilliant in taking myself out of the equation. I would have a valid alibi for the entire party. No one would ever know that I had been the one behind it. I chewed my food carefully because I felt like my throat was trying to close up on me. I knew it was because of the fear that was now crippling me.

I patiently waited to go up to my room after dinner. I desperately sought any way out of this, but it was impossible. I have no choice but to ask Paxton to take me with them. He will not be happy about it, especially a change of plans at this late point, but he has no choice. There is no fucking way that I am going to stay here. I will be killed once Jaxon finds out that I was behind their disappearance.

I couldn't sleep at all last night. I came up with a dozen flawed plans. I would have run away this morning if I could have left here, but we are currently on lockdown. A few guests on the invitation list can enter, but that is all. No one leaves. I won't get far without my car. They would hunt me down quickly. I had to make this call whether I wanted to or not. I am doing it early, as I knew he would be flying out here later on today, and the call would not go through. Nothing else made sense except me leaving with them. It was either wait to be killed for treason or getting the hell out of her. It really wasn't a choice at all.

My parents are going to disown me for what I have done. My brother may even be demoted because of my actions. They will never recognize me again. I need to run away. That was my only option. I packed a backpack halfway, putting two pictures of my family inside it. When I was halfway done, I picked up the phone and made the call. Dread filled my stomach as I listened to the ring.

To me, it didn't matter what Paxton said. If he refused to take me too, then the plan was over. I may die, but he doesn't t get his precious Cara. I was going over the wall first, too. I knew that they would all leave me behind if I was the last one over. I am not dumb enough to fall for that. I dialed his number again and he seemed frustrated by my call.

"What do you need?" Paxton growled out.

"I need a place to live. I am a warrior. I can help your pack. I need to go with you tonight when you come to get them," I told him quickly before I chickened out.

"I'm already taking the vampires with me. Why do you need to come too? This was not a part of our deal," Paxton asked me. He was much quieter this time. I guess he was around people who he didn't want to overhear our conversation.

"I got another person to help us out, A witch who needed a favor. I helped her, and she was supposed to teleport the three of them to the wall. That way, Jana and Anika could just come over and grab them," I started to tell him.

"Why in the hell would you involve someone else now? Are you out of your mind? How can you be sure that she can be trusted?" Paxton fired off question after question.

"She has had a crush on our Gamma for years. I know I messed up. Do you think I don't realize that? I just wanted her to take them, so I had an alibi. Jaxon would never care for me if he knew I was behind the plan to take them out of here. I just wanted to be able to truthfully say that I hadn't seen them today if I got questioned. Because that would technically be true if I had Adra's help. Jaxon is going to question the whole pack. I needed to make sure that was safe," I responded in anger.

"You have changed things up for the last time, Lena. Do not involve anyone else in this. Can you deal with this witch? Ensure she can't tell them anything before our plan is in motion?" Paxton asked.

"I will try, but today is the Luna ceremony, and everyone is busy. They are waiting to speak to her in the morning. It may be later than that, as they do not know about our plan. She might be put on the back burner for a few days after we take them. I can fight, I can earn my keep. I can't stay here, Paxton. Please, take me with you," I begged. I was serious. I have no chance if I stay here, and I knew that for a fact.

Paxton sighed and then said, "Fine, I need someone to stay there and help take care of Cara and her sisters. I don't want anyone to know that they are back here until they are all pregnant with our pups. My pack will accept Brenna and Luna. Unfortunately, Cara isn't a wolf. My pack members will not really want hybrid pups, but I only want Cara. You can have a room there and help to take care of them, doing laundry and errands for them. You can come too, but do not cause me any more issues, Lena. If you do, I promise that you won't live long enough to realize your mistake."

I shivered before saying, "Thank you so much, Paxton. I promise to be a loyal member of your pack."

I doubted he believed me because that was the same thing that I swore to do here. He just needed some help right now. I need to endear myself to him and his ranked wolves. I have to ensure I do a good job helping Cara and Luna. I don't like Brenna. I am not going to help her. Maybe the omega I am working with can help her? I made sure my backpack was full with as much as I could take. Everyone was gone from the house right now, so I took my backpack down to put it in my trunk.

I returned to my room and got the wolfsbane from my hidden spot in my closet. I got dressed in my party dress, and put some comfortable flats on. I then got in my car and headed to go work in the kitchen of the new pack house. I grabbed an apron and went to help my mother, who was the head cook. She shouted directions to several people and smiled at me when she saw me. "Thanks for volunteering to help today, Lena. We need as many as possible to get this ceremony ready on time," she told me. The next moment, she turned again and shouted out more instructions.

I kept my head down and chopped up all the fruits and vegetables that were given to me. My mother had taught me how to cook since I was young, but I didn't love cooking like she did. It was more of a chore for me than a labor of love. My mother was in her element today. The kitchen smelled heavenly, and she kept directing orders to the rest of the kitchen staff.

I would occasionally glance around the room to see what was going on. I noticed they finally brought the two large glass drink fountains out. They were going to be placed on either end of the dinner area. They were going to hold the bulk of the wolfsbane that I had stolen. A smaller amount would be sent upstairs at seven p.m. That was the last delivery of refreshments to be sent up to the Alpha suite for them to drink as they got dressed and ready. The seating outside was just for the Luna ceremony and the wedding celebration. I worked hard not to grimace at hearing that. Jaxon fucking loved Brenna so much. Well too bad for him that he couldn't see the women who already loved and cared for him before Brenna even arrived. If he had, it would have never come down to this.
