Chapter Benson 76
Chapter 76 Reunion After the Crisis
“By the way, Zoe went abroad,” Megan’s voice broke the silence, tinged with urgency.
“When?” Yvonne’s brow furrowed slightly, clearly surprised by the news.
“A week ago, and she’s not back yet.” Megan continued, her tone revealing a trace of anxiety.
Yvonne felt a pang of worry and immediately picked up her phone to call Daniel.
On the other end, Daniel’s voice sounded tired. He informed Yvonne that Zoe’s company’s business was currently being handled by her partner. Two days ago. Zoe’s phone was reachable, but today, it suddenly went unanswered.
“Don’t worry about her for now,” Yvonne tried to keep her voice calm, but her doubts deepened.
“But… the clues to find the person behind all this are temporarily cut off, Megan’s voice was filled with obvious concern. She always felt that the person behind the scenes was a huge threat.
Yvonne turned her head to look at Megan, a faint smile on her lips. “All these years, nothing has happened, right? I’ll be careful in the future.” Her voice was calm and confident, as if she could handle any difficulties that came her way.
Mentioning the drugging incident, Megan’s expression grew more serious. “If it weren’t for running into William that day, how would a girl survive?” Her voice was laced with lingering fear and heartache.
Yvonne’s throat tightened, and she sighed softly. “Luckily, it was a fortunate encounter.” Her voice carried a hint of emotion, but mostly gratitude for life.
Megan looked at Yvonne, her heart filled with admiration and pity.
Yvonne always faced life with a positive and optimistic attitude, but Megan knew how difficult it was for a girl to make her way alone without anyone to protect her.
The next day, Yvonne handled some matters and returned to the office, where Megan greeted her with a grave expression. “The information is completely cut off, and even the waiter we found to testify called to say the..

On the third day,
Yvonne’s brow furrowed tightly, knowing this meant someone was deliberately trying to protect the person behind the scenes.
A wave of unease surged in her heart, but she quickly adjusted her emotions, smiling at Megan. “It’s okay, I have a way to hand/s it.”
She returned to her office, gently pushed the door an

Inside the office, the lights were soft, and the sunset outside the window cast dappled. shadows on the floor through the blinds.
She walked to the comfortable armchair, sat down, and the chair swayed slightly, as if welcoming her return.
She spun the chair twice, her thoughts spinning with it, a mix of nervousness and anticipation rising in her heart.
She picked up the phone on the desk, took a deep breath, and dialed Benson’s number. The call connected faster than she expected, almost as soon as she pressed the call button, a voice came through.
Unexpectedly, it wasn’t Benson’s voice but a woman’s.
Yvonne froze for a moment, a trace of unease and confusion flashing through her mind. The words she had prepared were stuck in her throat, and she could only awkwardly say, Sorry, wrong number.” Her voice carried a slight tremor, clearly not expecting this situation. “Are you back?” Benson’s voice soon followed, calm and steady, surprising Yvonne. She had expected him to be flustered or to explain, but he seemed unusually composed.
“Uh… are you busy right now?” Yvonne’s voice held a hint of hesitation. The prepared speech was interrupted, and she didn’t know how to continue the conversation, filled with doubt and unease.
“What are you thinking about?‘ Benson’s voice came again, with a hint of a low the other end, Mary’s voice seemed to be farther away, and Yvonne couldn’t guess what they were doing.
laugh. On
In her distraction, Benson added, “If there’s anything to be busy with, it should be you.” His tone was teasing, clearly trying to ease her awkwardness.
Yvonne softly replied, “Oh,” then gathered her courage and asked, “Are you free tonight for dinner?” Her voice carried a hint of anticipation, obviously wanting to meet and talk about recent events.
Her unexpected invitation left Benson momentarily puzzled, “Business or personal?” His voice was tinged with curiosity, not understanding why she suddenly suggested this.
“Personal.” Yvonne’s voice was firm, wanting to spend time alone with him, to talk and perhaps confirm some things.
“Do you want to eat out or at home?” Benson’s voice held a trace of curiosity as he seemed to consider her suggestion and speculate her intention.
“Out, I’ve booked a place. I’ll send you the details later.” Yvonne hung up, a smile appearing on her face, clearly looking forward to the evening’s plans.
She opened her computer to find a restaurant, ready to send

with anticipation.
Benson finally finished his heavy workload and drove to the club that stirred his emotions.
The car slowly stopped at the luxurious entrance of the club, but he didn’t get out immediately. He sat in the driver’s seat, taking a deep breath, trying to calm his turbulent thoughts.
This place was where Yvonne had narrowly escaped a mishap not long ago, and his heart was filled with worry and unease.
He took out his phone and called George, his voice low and firm, “George, is the information confirmed? No one knows, right?”
On the other end, George’s voice was clear and affirmative, slightly reassuring him. After hanging up, Benson finally pushed open the car door and stepped into the club.
Entering the private room, Yvonne was already there, looking down at her phone. Hearing the door, she looked up and gave Benson a bright smile.
That smile was like the warm sun in spring, bright and radiant. Her eyes were clear, yet seemed to hide a subtle charm.
Benson took off his coat and walked to Yvonne, placing his hands on either side of her, leaning down to speak to her. “I thought you’d be out for a few more days.” His posture was somewhat intimate, his handsome face close enough that Yvonne could easily kiss him if she moved slightly.
Yvonne didn’t speak, just quietly looked at him, her eyes reflecting complex emotions.
Benson tried to kiss her, but she gently dodged, her voice soft but firm, “Let’s eat first. I ordered all your favorites; this place is pretty good.”
Benson’s gaze swept over the table, indeed filled with his favorite dishes, giving him a pleasant surprise.
He sat down, a warm feeling rising in his heart, as if Yvonne had brought back those cozy days.
However, he no longer felt the past annoyance but instead a few strands of joy and anticipation.
“Being so obedient today?” Benson’s voice carried a hint of teasing, but more warmth and affection.
