Chapter Benson 72

Chapter 72 The Breaking of Serenity

In a strange, dark alley, Yvonne’s heart was racing.

She knew this man had been her love since her youth, the one she dreamed of marrying.

She had once envisioned traveling with him, holding hands, kissing in unfamiliar places… but reality was always more complicated than dreams.

Yvonne felt disappointed in herself for being so easily swayed by his tenderness.

Despite their unresolved issues, she found herself lost in his kisses, even though she resented his dirtiness. Ultimately, Yvonne pulled away.

In the darkness, the man grabbed her chin. “There’s nothing between us, and there never will be any rumors again,” he said, his voice low and firm, as if he were making a promise. He didn’t wait for her to ask; he explained himself.

Leaning against the wall, Yvonne looked up at the sparkling stars. She felt a strange sense of peace, as if the stars were witnessing their love.

Benson’s body was still close to hers, his warmth seeping through their clothes, giving her a tangible sense of his presence.

“Are

you crazy?” Her voice trembled, more with surprise than fear.

She hadn’t expected him to make such a move at this time and place.

In the distance, she could hear the voices of tourists, heading back to their hotel. Yvonne’s heart pounded harder, worried they might be seen.

“What are you afraid of?” he asked, his voice echoing in the narrow alley, carrying a hint of teasing but mostly certainty.

His eyes glittered in the darkness, seeming to pierce her soul. He felt strongly now, not wanting to hide his emotions or make her uneasy.

Yvonne’s heartbeat quickened, sensing his confidence and determination. Benson looked down, noticing she was wearing his oversized shirt, making her appear even smaller and more delicate.

This unspoken intimacy pleased Benson.

“I need to go back,” Yvonne said clearly in the quiet night, feeling an inexplicable unease. Her heart raced, her palms sweaty, unsure what consequences her decision would bring. Benson, pressing against her, took her phone from her pocket. “What’s the password?” he asked, his voice low and demanding an answer

His eyes were firm and deep, as if he could see through her thoughts.

The Breaking of Sty

“What are you doing?” Yvonne tried to grab her phone, but Benson was faster, already entering the password.

Her heart pounded even harder, a mix of tension and anxiety.

Benson thought for a moment, entered his own thday, and surprisingly, it worked.

Yvonne felt embarrassed, as if her deepest thoughts were exposed.

Despite her logical desire for a divorce and separation, her cheeks flushed, her heart race feeling a strange panic.

But emotionally, she still had a sliver of attachment. Otherwise, why hadn’t she change her password?

A wave of inexplicable emotion surged in her heart. She couldn’t tell if it was nostalgia fc the past or anticipation for the future.

“You still love me,” he stated, a hint of smugness in his voice but mostly tendemess.

He knew Yvonne still had feelings for him. His eyes were full of expectation and gentleness, waiting for her response.

“In your dreams,” Yvonne retorted, embarrassed and angry, trying to push him away. He cheeks flushed, her heart raced, feeling a strange confusion.

A wave of inexplicable emotion surged in her heart. She couldn’t tell if it was nostalgia for the past or anticipation for the future.

Benson chuckled softly, feeling quite pleased.

He knew Yvonne still had feelings for him, and that was enough. He sent Bella a message from Yvonne’s phone, telling her to sleep early.

He knew Yvonne needed time and space to resolve their issues. But he believed that as long as they were together, everything would be fine.

In the afternoon, Benson had mentioned that the hot tub suite in the hotel was n nice, with a large terrace offering a dreamy view of the stars.

At that time, she was too dazed from his kisses to understand his meaning.

His words echoed in her ears, carrying a hint of mystery and temptation, making her heart

race.

Entering the room, she finally understood why he had only kissed her in the afternoon.

He had planned it all along.

The room was softly lit and cozy. Benson gently embraced Yvonne, his warmth seeping through their clothes, giving her a tangible sense of his presence.

He kissed her forehead softly, expressing his feelings through the gentle touch.

Breaking of Serenity

It was late into the night when Yvonne finally lay back on the bed, utterly exhausted.

Her body felt drained of all strength, even moving a finger seemed difficult.

Benson patiently sat by the bed, looking at Yvonne’s tired appearance, feeling a surge of tenderness.

He knew Yvonne needed time to process everything, and he was willing to wait, to stay by her side.

Yvonne was tired and sleepy. While on the terrace, several calls came in, all of which Benson ignored.

She returned Bella’s call. Bella’s voice on the other end was filled with worry.

“Are you okay?” Bella asked, concerned.

“No,” Yvonne replied, her voice hoarse. She sounded exhausted, as if speaking itself was at burden.

Her mood was heavy, like a stone pressing on her chest, making it hard to breathe.

Bella sighed, knowing there was nothing more she could say.

She knew the issues between Yvonne and Benson weren’t something that could be resolved in a few words.

Her heart was filled with helplessness and worry, unsure how Yvonne would face everything.

“Andrew didn’t give you a hard time, did he?” Bella asked with concern.

“No,” Bella replied. “Get some sleep; we’ll talk more tomorrow,” she added with a hint of resignation.

Yvonne hung up, and Benson emerged from the bathroom. He lifted the covers and got into bed, naturally pulling her into his arms.

His movements were gentle and familiar, as if this was a long–established routine between

them.

Feeling conflicted and unsure how to face him, Yvonne closed her eyes.

Her heart was filled with contradictions and struggles. She didn’t know how to handle their relationship or her feelings.

Benson, seeing her act like an ostrich, didn’t call her out on it and let her be.

He knew Yvonne needed time to think, space to sort out her emotions.

He was willing to give her that time and space.

Benson held her close. Yvonne felt a bit uncomfortable but was too tired to care, soon falling asleep.

Chapter 22 The Breaking of Serenity

Her body relaxed, her breathing becoming steady and deep. Benson gently stroked h hair, feeling her warmth, and a wave of warmth filled his heart.

Just as the clock struck midnight, Benson’s phone suddenly buzzed, breaking the si of the night.

He fumbled for the phone, seeing George’s name flashing on the screen.

Stepping onto the terrace, the cool night breeze brushing against him, he answered call, his voice calm and steady, as if he had everything under control.

“It’s late, George. What’s so urgent?” Benson asked, curiosity lacing his tone.

On the other end, George’s voice was tense, “Mr. Benson, I just uncovered an importa clue. The person behind drugging your wife is Miss Mary.”
