Chapter Benson 294

Chapter 294: Warmth and Anxiety

Jeremy noticed Yvonne’s movements and gently lifted his head, a soft smile playing on his lips. He rested his chin on his hand, observing the slight panic in her eyes, and couldn’t help but tease her. “You’re my benefactor now. I’m the one who should be worried about pleasing you, so there’s no need to be so tense or worry about these little things.”

Yvonne straightened her clothes and put on her shoes. When she noticed the blanket draped over her, a warm feeling surged in her heart. She playfully complained, “You should’ve woken me up when you arrived. This is so embarrassing.”

Jeremy chuckled softly, closing his book as he calmly replied, “I didn’t find it awkward at all. Seeing you get some proper rest was actually quite nice.”

Yvonne glanced at her watch and saw that it was getting late. She stood up, smiling slightly, “It’s about time. Let’s go have lunch.”

Jeremy nodded, and the two of them left the office together.

Jeremy suggested they dine at the company’s ground–floor

restaurant, which was elegant and convenient, sparing them the need to go out. Yvonne agreed, thinking it was a good idea, and asked Megan to notify the kitchen to prepare their meal.

Jeremy’s visit to Las Vegas had been unexpected, originally just a stopover for business. But since he was in town, he decided to meet Yvonne, chat with her, and check on how she was doing.

The exclusive BR store in Las Vegas was already being handled by Raymond, so Jeremy didn’t need to worry too much about it.

As they entered the restaurant, the aroma of food suddenly made Yvonne feel nauseous. Instinctively, she covered her nose, her brow

When the car stopped outside the restaurant, Yvonne looked at the unassuming storefront, feeling both surprised and a bit of comfort.

As they entered, the wooden tables and chairs, combined with the warm lighting, created a very cozy atmosphere. Jeremy chose a window seat, where the sunlight streamed in, adding a touch of

warmth to the table.

Soon, the dishes were served. The aroma of baked cod filled the air,

and the fragrant smell of steak paired with vegetables was inviting.. There was also a simple cold dish and a hot dish, making the meal. feel homely.

Jeremy carefully served the fish to Yvonne, his face soft with a gentle. smile. “This cod has few bones, it’s fresh, and it doesn’t have a strong fishy smell.”

Yvonne accepted the bowl, using a spoon to take a small bite. The fish was tender and tasted excellent. She ate slowly, chewing

carefully, with each bite taken with caution.

Recently, she had realized that eating too quickly triggered nausea, and strongly flavored foods made her feel worse.

Jeremy glanced at her and softly asked, “How many months?

Yvonne paused, looking up at him with a faint, bitter smile. “Almost

three months.”

“This little one is quite something. You were so busy and staying up late during that time… it’s impressive.”

Jeremy’s words were filled with care and admiration. This was the first time since finding out about her pregnancy that someone had spoken to Yvonne like this. Unlike Bella’s concerns, Jeremy’s words gave her a strange sense of comfort.

Yvonne lowered her head, a warm feeling of gratitude rising within

her. Yes, I think it’s quite resilient.”

She hesitated and said, “They say the first three months are crucial. I was working late a lot, and although the checkups are normal, I can’t shake the feeling of unease.”

“That’s why you need to eat properly,” Jeremy said as he placed more food on her plate. “I’ve heard that not eating well can affect the baby’s brain development. Look at you, I bet you haven’t been eating right.”

Yvonne gave a bitter smile, a wave of sourness rising in her throat. The nausea is so bad, I haven’t even told my mom Everything feels

so chaotic.”

Jeremy frowned slightly, his tone light and teasing, “This doesn’t sound like the Yvonne I know. Feeling flustered and chaotic?”

As he spoke, he placed another piece of fish in her bowl, saying, “I still think you’re the strong and confident Yvonne, just with a bit more softness and uncertainty now.”

Yvonne looked at him, her eyes showing a trace of hesitation and confusion. “I haven’t decided yet whether to keep the baby.”

Hearing this, Jeremy’s smile faded into a more serious expression. Whether you keep it or not, the most important thing is your health. Without good health, how can you care for the baby? Without good health, how can you pursue your career, right?”

Jeremy’s presence was like a calming force, gradually soothing

Yvonne’s restless mind. As she sat there, her gaze naturally fell on

Jeremy.

At that moment, Jeremy seemed like a guardian to her, much like her brother Saul, offering warmth and support.

Yvonne’s eyes reddened slightly, and she felt a bit of a lump in her throat. She realized that Jeremy was like family, someone who cared

about her emotions and helped ease her anxiety.

Despite the lingering aroma of food, Yvonne’s nausea didn’t

completely subside. She ended up vomiting twice, each time leaving her pale and with reddened eyes.

Jeremy showed no impatience, watching ner with even more care. His actions were gentle as he placed food on her plate, speaking

softly, “Eat. As long as this child is inside you, you’re responsible for it. And if you decide not to keep it, you still need to take care of

yourself and eat well.”

Yvonne felt Jeremy’s concern and nodded, “Okay.”
