Logan forced me onto the bed and began tearing off my clothes aggressively 

As I struggled with one hand, I managed to reach into my coat pocket with the other and pull out a fruit knife I had hidden there for protection.. 

With my strength fading and Logan overpowering me, I slashed at him with all my might.. 

He dodged quickly, and my blade only left a shallow cut on his arm. 

I gripped the knife tightly, refusing to let my guard down for even a second. 

Logan looked confused but as a man, he quickly regained his composure. 

“Chloe, do you really think you can take me down on your own? You’re deluding yourself!” 

Just then, the door fo the room was kicked open from the outside. 

I felt a surge of relief when I saw who it was. 

Before meeting Logan, I had reached out to my lawyer friend and alerted the police. 

Logan froze in shock when the officers burst in. He immediately tried to play the victim, shouting, “This woman tried to kill me! Help!” 

But Logan’s plán backfired–his own phone had recorded everything that happened. 

The police arrested him on the spot. 

My lawyer friend informed me that Mia had been found at Bella’s place. 

I had suspected that Logan wouldn’t bring Mia to the hotel and had asked my friend to track down Bella. 

It was clear that Logan and Bella had planned this together. 

When I finally saw Mia safe and sound, my heart was at ease. 

Later, I saw Logan again at the detention center. 

He looked gaunt, with a scruffy beard. 

“Chloe, don’t blame me. Bella threatened to abort the baby if I couldn’t come up with the money,” he said weakly. “You know how my family has always wanted a son…” 

Logan’s parents had constantly pressured me to have another child, insisting that only a son could carry on the family name and take care of them in their old age. 

They were never kind to Mia, never bought her anything, or even held her. 

It was just because she was a girl. 

They favored boys over girls. 

Choking back tears, Logan pleaded, “Chloe, just promise me one thing–don’t tell Mia what I did. I don’t want her to think poorly of her father… 

I was stunned that he still considered himself Mia’s father. 

I didn’t respond, turning my back on him and walking out without looking back.

Later, to protect Bella and her unborn child, Logan took full responsibility for everything 

He was sentenced to three years in 

I ran into Bella again after Logan’s sentencing. Without his financial support, she quickly reverted to her old habits of playing gambling. Within two months, she lost her job and couldn’t afford her apartment. 

Harry, Bella’s son, was taken away by his biological father, and she had to move to the countryside, pregnant and. 

desperate, to live with Logan’s parents. 

Since the elderly couple hoped Bella would give them a grandson, they treated her well. 

Bella settled into a comfortable life in the countryside. 

Eventually, she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Logan’s parents were overjoyed and brought the child to visit him in 

prison. 

However, Bella wasn’t the type to stay in a rural area for long. 

Soon, she ran off with Logan’s parents‘ pension money. 

The elderly couple had to raise their grandson on their own while waiting for Logan’s release. 

Three years passed, and Logan was released from prison. 

Jobless and in debt, he returned to the countryside in shame. 

Later that year, I heard shocking news from a friend. 

Logan’s parents had doted on their grandson, fulfilling his every wish. 

But one day, the child ate something he shouldn’t have and had to be rushed to the hospital, 

That wasn’t the end of their troubles. Logan discovered that his beloved son’s blood type didn’t match his own. He took a paternity test. 

And the results confirmed his worst fear–the boy wasn’t his biological son. 

The revelation shattered Logan’s parents. 

Not long after, they both died of depression. 

Heartbroken, they both passed away soon after. Logan began searching for Bella, but years passed without any trace of her. 

Filled with regret, Logan eventually found me and begged for forgiveness, hoping to reconcile. 

But by then, had found a man who truly loved me. 

He adored Mia and treated her like his own daughter. 

He was also very kind to my parents. 

Mia also regarded him as her father. 

I had moved on from the darkness Logan brought into my life and found happiness.
