Chapter 4
Mrs. Blanchard was so angry that she blacked out on the spot.
Because of this misunderstanding, Mrs. Blanchard did not speak to Alicia for three days. Her blood pressure jumped up and she had to stay in the hospital. Today, Alicia deliberately cooked soup for her mother and patiently explained the whole thing again.-
"Mom, don't be angry! I really didn't have anything to do with him. I met him by chance... I didn't say a word. Lindsay is now his girlfriend. How can you believe her words? In the future, we will all stay away from them, okay? I promise that we won't have anything to do with him! Have another spoonful, you need to get healthy!"
Her parents had never beaten her since she was a child. But three years ago, things changed and all that was because of Jeremy!
She couldn't understand until today why he had pursued her so crazily and then abandoned her in those days. Their love was once so passionate, which was also a campus legend!
This pain in her heart had always troubled her. For three years she had not been able to let go of it. At this moment, it all seemed unimportant. Every time she thought of it, she felt the pain deep in her hearts! "Are you telling the truth?" "I swear!" After thinking for a moment, Mrs. Blanchard accepted the bowl of soup, and Alicia smiled a bit for the first time in these days.
Seeing Alicia's weary face, Mrs. Blanchard softened up and said, "I'm feeling better now. Let's get out of the hospital! It's so expensive here. It'll cost even more to stay here for one more night!"
"It doesn't matter! I'll ask the doctor and then decide..."
As soon as she walked out of the room, a familiar voice came from behind, "Alicia? What a coincidence!"
The disgusting sound of this voice made Alicia shiver. She quickened her pace unconsciously but was blocked by Lindsay at the end of the corridor.
"Why do you run away when you see me? Are you still angry with me?"
Alicia turned and walked away, but Lindsay followed her. She turned again, and Lindsay quickly blocked her way.
"Alicia, don't be so petty! I have always treated you as my sister. Don't let what happened with Jeremy affect our friendship!"
Could she be more shameless?
Frowning, Alicia looked at her coldly and said, "I'm very busy. Please look for someone else to put on your act!"
She moved, and Lindsay suddenly pulled her arm with a wounded look.
"Don't be angry! I didn't mean to hide it from you! Alicia. Believe me, Jeremy is really not as bad as you said. He has never forgotten you. In the past two years, he has suffered a lot. I often see him looking at..."
How could her manner have changed so quickly?
"Enough! I..." Alicia started.
Alicia shook off her hand. Before she could react, Lindsay was squatting on the ground covering her stomach with her arms. "Auch!"
What just happened? She hadn't pushed her!
"Jeremy..."
As Lindsay uttered those words, Alicia suddenly realized that Jeremy was right behind her in anger. The next second, he had already passed her and picked up Lindsay who was sitting on the floor. "Are you okay?"
"Really... It was so careless of me! Don't worry! I shouldn't have been the first one to say hello..."
"I'll take you to see a doctor!"
Seeing the two playing their parts, Alicia clenched her fists and her lips twitched a few times. She couldn't help but say, "Next time, don't forget to wear high heels before you try again!"
What a liar! She didn't even know how to put on a show properly? Alicia thought to herself.
Jeremy stared fiercely at Alicia. "If there's anything wrong with Linds, I won't let you go!"
A chill rushed to Alicia's head, and she suddenly felt nauseous. "Egh—"
"You aren't...pregnant, are you?" Jeremy asked.
Before leaving, Lindsay dropped the bombshell. For half a day, taking care of her mother, Alicia had even forgotten to vomit.
"Pregnant? Was I that unlucky? Being pregnant after one night?"
Alicia calculated the days in her head. No wonder she hadn't had her period this month!
Alicia's face turned pale, as she felt overcome with panic. She turned around and to her great surprise she saw a pair of angry blue eyes, radiating a gloomy light.
She took a step back as a conditioned reflex and thought, "Is it his?"
"Is it mine?" His voice was dull and at the same time terrifying.
She nodded and then shook her head fiercely. "No! I'm not pregnant!"
Almost at the same time, Alicia also bit her lip in annoyance. "Stupid! This clumsy denial sounds like an admission of guilt!"
As expected, the next second she was dragged by Frederick Clements to the obstetrician. When she came out with the results, the look on her face told the story.
Three weeks?
"Get a marriage certificate with me now!" Frederick's face was gloomy and he wouldn't take 'no' for an answer.
