Chapter 1326
When his gaze fell on the lonely and slim figure by the bed, Trevor's heart stirred with overwhelming emotions. Did he separate a pair of affectionate lovers? Though so, she belonged to him in the first place, didn't she?
If possible, he hoped that he was the person lying in bed right then!
It was eye-piercing! It was eye-piercing! It was nothing more than being eye-piercing!
Trevor frowned with his brows tightly knotted. After standing for quite some time, he quietly passed the door, withdrew his cigarette box, and took out his lighter. It was then he was reminded as he placed it back. Then, his eyes fell on the ticking clock as slow as the crawling of a snail...
Standing by the bed, Victoria's mind went blank. When she came to herself, she was still awakened by a soft whisper.
"Victoria? I...I'm not dreaming, am I?"
"Are you awake? Don't talk! Please get the doctor..."
Turning around to shout, it was then she remembered to go to the other side of the bed and press the red button.
"Vicki, Vicki, it's so nice to see that you're fine!"
With difficulty, Anthony closed his eyes, a smile appearing on his lips. "If I could move, I wouldn't...have allowed anyone to hurt you!"
"Stop talking! You need a good rest!"
Afraid of him inflicting the wound, Victoria came forward to stop him by holding him down. "Don't move. Stop talking! Save some strength. The doctor will be here soon!"
In an attempt to extend his hand forward, Anthony could finally hold her hand. With his breathing light, the bitter smile tugging at the corner of his lips could no longer be concealed. "Do you know that death frees me? Living-Looking at you is real agony!"
After that incident, he had always been living in guilt. There wasn't a split second when he was freed from the shackles of guilt, but she did not give him a chance to make up for it.
If he had not been tied up that day, he would rather be the one that had died. If one didn't do anything going against one's conscience, one would have nothing to fear. Although he made a choice back then that might not have been against his conscience, it was the most "guilty" choice he had made up to that point in life. How could the infuriating agony in his heart be compared to the physical pain his body suffered?
"Let bygones be bygones! Have a good rest!"
The accident was unexpected, so was the current event. She didn't know how many unexpected events she would have to experience for the rest of her life. All at once, her heart stirred as a strong sense of sorrow flashed in her eyes.
Right then, the sound of footsteps came before a large number of doctors and nurses barged into the room. "What happened?"
At the same time, the nurse responsible for recording data spoke up, "The patient has just woken up. He's conscious. His heartbeat is normal, but his blood pressure is low..."
The doctor stepped forward as the nurse's words trailed off. Victoria hurriedly announced, "I'll take my leave. I'll come and visit you another day! Get well soon!"
"Victoria..."
Without turning around, Victoria strode out the door. When she turned around, it was then she remembered that Trevor was on the other end of the corridor, so she trotted to the other end of the aisle.
As he paced back and forth in anxiousness, Trevor noticed her as soon as he lifted his gaze. Seeing how she was in a trance, her eyes watery with tears, he held her hand tightly with another arm clasping her waist. "Let's go!"
She must have wavered, hasn't she?!
It was what he dreaded to see, yet right then, he could do nothing to oppose!
Then, they got in the car. Seeing Victoria sitting motionless for a long time, Trevor shut down the engine after starting the car. As one arm reached out to the back of her head, he leaned in for a lingering deep kiss. He hummed in satisfaction.
Victoria pushed him away with all her strength. Pursing her lips in embarrassment, her nervous gaze darted out the window to look around with her face glowing red. "Have you gone crazy? What are you doing? Aren't you afraid of shame?" In broad daylight, a kiss was more than enough, but he showed a sexual reaction?
In an instant, Victoria was so uneasy that her hand fumbled around in awkwardness!
Holding her body down, Trevor's breath was hot as if it was on fire. "I should be the one asking what you're doing, shouldn't I? After ten minutes in the hospital, did you leave your soul in the ward?"
He turned her over and lowered his head to smack a firm kiss on the lips.
"There are many ways to thank him,
but you can't leave your heart
ef
behind! Vicky, you're mine, you're mine! If were him, I would have done the same, so you're not allowed to have any improper thoughts towards him!"
Right then, all Anthony did was take advantage!
"What are you thinking about? According to what you said, should I chop all my flesh into pieces since I can grow this old? Stop fooling around. Let's go!"
As her voice faded away, Trevor's entire body pressed over. Reverting her face, Victoria blushed. "Trevor!"
As soon as her eyes fell on him, she saw his hand tugging at the seat belt. All at once, she bit her lips to the point of them bleeding. Turning around to shoot him a glare, she poked him hard. "Were you teasing me? You're awful! You fooled me! You fooled me!"
"Haha..."
Pressing onto her head and fastening the seat belt, Trevor swiftly pecked on her ear. "You pervert. Did you want to..."
With a sudden pain in his leg, Trevor couldn't help frowning as he groaned.
"All you know is to talk nonsense. Why don't you drive?"
Smiling while pinching her cheeks, Trevor started the car. After driving for a period, it turned into a lane before pulling to a stop in front of a
hotel. Victoria leaned against the window and wondered out loud.
"Honey, aren't we going home?"
Why did he go there? It was broad daylight.
"Yes. There's something very important!"
QUMS
Sure enough, as soon as he unfastened his seat belt, Victoria opened the door. With his head lowered, his lips couldn't help raising a sly grin.
Just as she passed the car, a small hand automatically stuffed itself into his palm.
"Welcome..."
After entering the hotel, Trevor
whispered a few words in the receptionist's ear, all the more mysterious. His gaze darted around to size the place up. Although she noticed his behavior, Victoria thought that he was talking about official business, so she didn't think much about it, nor did she probe into it as she deliberately avoided eye contact.
After a series of muffled mutters, Trevor led her to the elevator door.
When they arrived at the top presidential suite, Trevor opened the door. Victoria had yet to realize what he was doing as she grabbed him by the sleeves. More than anything else, she was nervous and uneasy. "Honey, you won't leave me here, will you? I don't want to wait for you here!"
In a foreign place, she didn't feel safe at all!
"No, I won't!"
After closing the door, Trevor locked it from the inside. Hearing the slight tick, Victoria was stunned for two seconds.
Why did he lock the door?
The doubts in her heart had just sprouted when she was pulled into his arms. The passionate kisses fell on her like dense rain from the sky, sending shivers down her neck. Realization dawned upon Victoria...
