Chapter 290
Chapter 290
“Hello, Kay.”
It wasn’t Eduard who had responded to her; it was Aubrey.
When Mikayla saw Aubrey holding a half–peeled apple, she frowned slightly. “Why are you here?”
Aubrey smiled. “I haven’t seen Mr. Davidson Senior in a long time, so I came over to visit him.”
Aubrey had often visited the Davidson family’s residence in the past, so she was naturally familiar with
Eduard.
But she hadn’t been there in the past two years. There had to be another reason for her sudden visit; she definitely wasn’t there just to see Eduard..
“Kay, you’re here.”
Just then, Eduard walked over. He continued, “Aubrey just arrived not long ago. She said that she had nothing to do recently, so she came to chat with me.”
Seeing that his tone and spirit had improved, Mikayla didn’t drive Aubrey away immediately. Instead, she followed him into the house and gave him the snacks that she had bought.
“Grandpa, take your time to enjoy these snacks. I have something to discuss with Aubrey.”
After saying that, she led Aubrey to the garden outside.
“Tell me, what’s your purpose in coming here to see my grandpa?”
Aubrey felt a little aggrieved. “Mr. Davidson Senior was so kind to me before. Why can’t I come to see
him?
“Mikayla, I know that what I did before was wrong, and I regret it. I’ll listen to you from now on. I’ll do whatever you say to make you happy, okay?”
Mikayla remained unmoved by Aubrey’s plea for peace.
“Kay, I sincerely want to help you. I’d even begged my dad for a long time to get Mr. Davidson to sign the spice contract, which led to this cooperation-”
“Hold on. Did Uncle Stephen sign the contract?‘ Mikayla suddenly interrupted Aubrey. “When did he sign
it?”
Aubrey didn’t understand why Mikayla had such a reaction. Mikayla’s reaction had been similar the last
time she had mentioned it.
Could it be that Mikayla had discovered something?
“Yes, the contract was signed yesterday afternoon.” Aubrey asked curiously, “Kay, is there a problem? Why do you look unhappy?”
Mikayla ignored her and hurried upstairs. She then called Stephen and asked him about the spice order
contract.
After getting his confirmation, she couldn’t help but express her frustrations.
“Uncle Stephen, wasn’t there an issue with the contract? Why did you still sign it?”
Stephen was in a good mood. He didn’t care about Mikayla’s tone of voice and replied, “The problematic areas have been resolved. They’ve also admitted to their negligence. So, naturally, the cooperation can
continue.”
Mikayla asked restlessly, “Are you sure that they’ve revised it? Has the legal department reviewed it?”
“Of course! How could I not be cautious when it comes to money?”
“Please send it to me. I’d like to take a look.”
Although he didn’t want to listen to her, she had contributed to the contract modification, so he didn’t
refuse.
He then sent the contract to Mikayla. She carefully read it and found that the things Jerome had proposed last time had indeed been changed.
Thus, this cooperation contract was now legal and flawless.
Mikayla was knowledgeable about investments, but she lacked business acumen,
She couldn’t understand the significance of the Saunders family’s actions. They weren’t that kind to bring more business to her family.
Jerome would probably have some unique insights, but Mikayla couldn’t turn to him for help.
She took out her phone, planning to call Betty to ask her about it. However, she noticed that someone had sent her a message on WhatsApp.
When she saw the content, her expression instantly darkened.
