Jerome used to despise her fussiness. But seeing her calmness and indifference now, he felt a strange
discomfort.
“Grandpa, it’s all my fault. I failed to protect her,” he apologized again.
“What happened last night? Eduard asked.
“It’s not a big deal, Mikayla replied. She didn’t want Eduard to worry about her. She then turned to Jerome. and said, “Now that you’ve delivered the gifts and said everything that you’d wanted to say, you can leave
now.”
Jerome didn’t leave right away. Instead, he said calmly, “Tell me in advance when you’ll return. I’ll send the driver to pick you up.”
“Let’s talk about that later.” She ran out of patience and said, “I still have many things to discuss with Grandpa Just go and take care of your own matters. We don’t have time to talk to you!”
After being driven away by her repeatedly, Jerome didn’t shamelessly stay any longer.
He soon left the hall after bidding farewell to Eduard.
“Kay, what happened between you and Jerome? How did you get hurt?ays. Are you still going to
divorce Jerome?”
“Yes,” Mikayla replied as she looked at the tablet again. “Forget about that, Grandpa. Let’s continue to
check out the attractions in Lakeville!”
In the car, Jerome was silent.
The driver, who sensed his boss‘ bad mood, asked carefully, “Mr. Miller, where are we going?”
Jerome gave him the hospital’s name. The driver immediately drove toward the destination. “Is it true that a man should care about his wife first, no matter how urgent the situation is?”
