Awaken The Wolf

Chapter 8

Ayla’s POV

“Okay, well, I guess I’ll see you there then,” I say as I rush out the door, keys in hand; I dash to my car.

As I pull out of my parking space, I see the triplets standing in the driveway, hands on their hips, watching me leave. Axel throws his hands up in the air.

“Crap! Were they expecting to ride with me? I thought.

Turning up my music, I let it blare out the speakers, windows down, trying to live my best life. Pushing the three-brand new distraction out of my head was more complicated than I thought.

Cranking the stereo up a few more notches, I belt the lyrics out in time to the music.

“WHOA, WE ARE HALF WAY THERE,” I sing along, not caring how awful I sound.

Within no time, I reached school—Yay for me, another day of this hell. I park up, grab my bag and run straight inside. It had started to rain again.

I was early today, so luckily, there was no Stacy yet. I was able to go to my locker hassle-free. I took out my timetable and saw it was geography first period. Grabbing my books, I shut the door and turned to go.

The doors swing open, and in walks Stacy; she was gushing over something, her brother Jaxon follows, talking with Jacob.

“Yeah, Lucas got a ride with Mason today, and he had those triplets with him,” Jacob told them.

Of course, they would come with Mason; why wouldn’t they. Now I’ll see them change into carbon copies of him. I roll my eyes and carry on.

I was the first to class today, which was nice. I sat down and took my things out. I was letting my mind drift away, returning to this morning when Aiden was holding me.

Stacy struts in and slams her hands down on my desk, making me jump.

“What!” I snap before seeing who it is

“You have three gorgeous guys staying in your house,” she scowls. “Don’t scare them away with your ugly butt face.”

“There are four guys in my house at the moment,” I correct her

She growls, and up with her hand, she goes to slap me. I flinch, ready for the impact. But her hand was caught in mid-air before it made contact with my cheek.

She gasps, and I stare at her wide-eyed.

“Don’t!” Archer released her wrist with some force, throwing her hand down.

Everyone stares in shock; no one ever stops Stacy. If Stacy wants to do something, she does it, and anyone who gets in the way pays for it.

Stacy looks around; she sees all three Chase brothers around her; she smiles her best, sweetest smile at them.

“I was only playing; Ayla and I are great friends, aren’t we, sweetie!” she looks pointedly at me, a smile still in place.

“Uh, yeah, sure,” I say with a complete lack of enthusiasm.

“Bullshit!” Axel answers, a growl slipping past his lips.

Stacy lets a nervous laugh slip out as she stares at the brothers.

Archer took the seat behind me; Axel took a left, and Aiden took a right. I was in a Chase brother sandwich.

I watched as Stacy stormed off and sat next to Jacob. She kept looking over her shoulder and glaring my way. I tried just to ignore her.

“You, okay?” Aiden leaned over and touched my arm. Axel did the same from his side.

“Y-yeah, I’m fine,” I stammer.

The teacher came in then, causing everyone to sit back and listen.

Archer’s POV

What a complete tool that idiot is. Spending the short drive to school from the Packhouse with Mason was infuriating; I already knew enough about him to know he was not worth my time. All he did was brag about himself; he dared to tell us to stay clear of Ayla if we wanted any social life.

Then to walk in and see that She-wolf about to hit her almost did me in. She was lucky. All I did was stop her hand. I don’t usually agree with violence, especially towards women, but I wanted to rip her bloody head off.

My brothers and I were thinking with one mind when we sat around Ayla. No way anyone was getting to her without going through us first.

Sitting in class again at a high school reminded me why I was glad I had finished high school back home. It was mind-numbingly dull, plus being this close to Ayla and having only to sit here was killing me; I’m sure it was doing the same to Aiden and Axel.

There were way too many hormones flying around the room, which wasn’t pleasant. I want… no, I need time with Ayla, but I’m stuck with this bunch of overly horny teen wolfs.

Keeping my eyes directly on the back of her head, the whole lesson was all I could to calm my wolf. He was going nuts and wanted to be let out.

“Titan, calm down; there Is nothing we can do right now,” I tell my wolf; he was reeling from Stacy’s almost attack on Ayla.

“How can you just sit here and let it happen” he growls

“I stopped her before she could hit her,” I reminded him

“Only just! She needs to be taught a lesson; no one touches Ayla; she’s mine,” he snarled

“Titan, she hasn’t even had her first shift; she’s not gone through the change; we can’t know for sure she is our mate, not yet,” I tell him, knowing it will fall on deaf ears. When Titan wants something, he usually gets his way.

“She’s mine,” he growled but forced himself to calm down a bit

“Aiden and Axel are drawn to her too, though,” I tell him

“I know!” was all he said

“Why, though? aren’t you only meant to have one mate” I was so confused

“Stop asking me questions, Archer; I’m not in the mood,” he snapped and pushed me away.

“You’re such a dick sometimes, Titan,” I scowl back; today was going to be a hard one, just what I needed.

We had loads to find out about Ayla and work out what was happening with us.

Stacy’s POV

Who the hell does she think she is, making me look the fool in front of them!

“She planned this,” I was convinced.

She knows I’m due to have my first shift soon; I refuse to be after her. I want my mate before her. It’s one thing to be all over Jacob like she is, but to take my chance away with those brothers was nothing short of nasty!

I need a plan to make them realise what a skank she is; then, I can show her up like she did to me. They will hate her then and wanna be with me. I’m pretty sure one of them will be my mate. Why wouldn’t someone as gorgeous as them not be mated to someone as beautiful as me!

“Watch out bitch; I’m coming for you” I smiled as this thought flashed through my mind.

Look at her. Sat there with them all around her. She’s not even pretty; what the hell do they see in her. She’s not even paying them any attention. How can she sit there like that, ignoring them?

That dark-haired one is stunning. I wish he would brood at me the way he is at her. He hasn’t taken his eyes off her since he sat down.

Reaching into my pocket, I find my phone and pull it out. I know exactly what to do. Keeping my eye on the teacher, I can’t get caught texting; my dad would kill me. Scrolling through, I find the number I’m looking for.

Hi Mason

I just thought you should know.

Ayla is throwing herself at

Those triplets that are staying at

Yours, when I went to say hi to

Make them feel welcome; she slapped me!!! my face still hurts

From it :( any way just thought

You should know xxx

“That will teach her” I smirk

Everyone knows how Mason can’t stand her, except the Alpha and the adults, that is. I can’t wait to see what happens!
