Chapter 3
Waking up from the dream last night was confusing to describe to her. Thinking back to some of our conversations with just Henry what was Henry trying to tell her something about himself or was warning her about something? From what though?
Looking at the clock, it read 6:30 AM, crap realizing she needed to get ready for school. Rushing through her routine and was out the door. Ava walked to school that day nor bother with driving. She made it to school on time. Serena was running late as well. She will not tell her about her weird dream last night. Morning classes were flying by until the afternoon came until my last class.
It was Organic Chemistry, which she had after English Literature. Which English was a story in and of itself? Ava does not even want to talk about it. Minding her business like nothing was happened until before the sirens came. Just before Ava and her classmates were in class, a guy decides to take his chocolate lab, Coco for a jog with him. They decided to use the trail behind the school right where the creek is. Coco was just sniffing along and got the scent of something not far from the banks of the creek. She went under the shrubs and started digging. Her own was calling to come back. She was not listening and kept digging. What do you know, she dug up a bone. Coco bought back the bone to her owner.
“What do you have their girl?” Beckons his dog forward.
His dog drops the bone. He got a closer look at the bone and it was a human bone. He knew he needed to call the police to let them know about the possible body nearby. He did just that. Grabbing Coco by the leash and making his way out of the trail back to their car to make the call.
Meanwhile, everyone is just there when the sirens start to whizz by passing the school to the woods. The teachers were telling the students to get away from the windows and pay attention. The police came into the school to talk to the principal about what was going on. No one knew what the police were talking to the principal about. Ava has a feeling it has something to do with Henry.
Looking out the window again, Ava saw the CSI van pulling up behind the school. The police cars were still behind the school when school was officially let out. Ava saw the expression on the principal’s face going by the office. It looked like bad news to my advantage point. Ava was waiting for Serena to get out of class. So, they can walk home together.
When she got home, her mother was not home, and was able to do my homework in the living room for a change. Ava also turned on the news to find anything out why the police were at the school this afternoon. Henry lives on the same street. The news was not providing anything useful so decided to go on the porch instead.
On the porch, she saw the police pull up to Newman’s place. One of the cops knocked on the door. She saw Mrs. Newman come out. The cops took their hats to tell her the news. Mrs. Newman broke down in hysterical cries. She looked at her and nodded. The cops had to take her back inside to talk to her some more.
Ava went back inside to grab her phone and dialed Serena. She answered on the first ring.
“They found Henry and he is dead,” Ava notified her.
Serena dropped her phone on the ground and full out crying on the other end. Ava just hung up. She began weeping.
Ava did not notice how she had fallen asleep when my mother came home. She was standing in the doorway watching the news, which she had left on. Then looks over at my tear-stained face. All she can say is, “They have found him.”
Maria buries her in a hug. She was not the emotional type of person. She just allowed her to break down. We were like this when my father came home.
“What happened?” Kaleb asked.
“Kaleb, they found her missing friend this afternoon, “Maria replied.
Kaleb does not say anything weird. He walked into his man cave and locked the door. Thinking about what he was going to do. If his wife and kids knew he broke the family code. Things were going to be hell for him.
