Chapter 28: The Message Delivered
Mark’s feet thudded on the ground. He hadn't stopped flying since leaving the Mundus Kingdom, and he was more than exhausted. It was a miracle he hadn’t been shot.
Farian birds flew around him - their bright colors and high pitched buzzing gave him a piercing headache. Everything in the Kingdom was almost too bright due to the sparkling green grass, mixed colored trees, particular wings flying around, and, of course, the blue.
Mark closed his eyes in slight pain. His feet stumbled forward, and he threw the empty bags off his body. Everything began to spin around him, but he needed to get this message to a guard.
Finally, his eyes landed on a Knight walking around the village. Naturally, Mark caught the guard’s attention as he came towards him.
Mark reached into his pocket and pulled out the message, making the guard raise his eyebrow. The man hesitantly took the note and opened it. For a few seconds, the only noise was Mark’s heavy breathing.
Slowly the Knight's face began to shift, and he looked up. Mark pulled down his sleeve to reveal a small circular scar on his wrist. Without saying anything, the guard’s wings expanded, and he took off towards the Castle.
Mark sighed and finally allowed himself to sit on the ground and relax.
The message had been delivered, and all he could do was hope Bram and Colt could hold their own.
