“What's going on? Why are you all bowing in shame?” I ask annoyed by their behaviors. I don’t know if it’s shame or pity.

I don’t like people bowing at me and even more when it’s pity. I don’t do pity. Never!

“Maybe they think you will die in a few hours. Let’s them be my soul. They will enjoy the show later.” Anton whispers in my ear.

I nod and we walk toward the guest wing. Even Alpha Franck was bowing in shame... So it was not because of the fight.

“Stop thinking too much, sweetheart. You losing your time for people who doesn’t deserve it.” Anton says when we are in the kitchen.

“You’re right and I’m hungry!”

“Does my little baby girl is hungry?” Anton says with a sweet voice. I don’t think he is speaking to me.

He puts his hands on my belly and adds: “I will cook everything you want my little princess. You know your daddy can’t say no to you.”

Yep, not talking to me at all! Let’s tease him a bit then.

“Even a boy in her room?” I ask him.



He growls: “Never in my house!”



We heard Alec laughs in the dining room. Noisy werewolf! Well, I'm a noisy Lycan even more than him, maybe... Make me think: does that mean better your hearing is noisier you will be?

“Good morning Lilly, good morning bro!” Alec says cheerfully.



“Hey, why are you so cheery this morning?” I ask him.



“Today is our last day here. I can go back to Alix. I miss her so much.”



“He saw her yesterday!” Anton says.



“You can speak, you were not able to wait more than 20 minutes without her yesterday!” Alec teases him.



“We spent a month apart!” Anton protests.



“Who is to blame for that?” Alec says.



“Not me!” Anton denies.



“Really?” I ask sarcastically. 



“Let's not talk about that again.” Anton says.



“I will cook breakfast for you, my love. Alec, you can cook for your own. You abused my mate's cooking too long.”
He adds.

“You should say that to Collin.” Alec shrugs.



“Where is he by the way?” I ask.

“He didn’t come back yet. And I just spoke with Alix a few minutes ago, Ainhoa neither was back yet.” He replies.

“First night and they’re already inseparable.” I say smiling.

“Who are you talking about?” Collin asks appearing in the middle of the room.

“You mister! So how was your night?” I reply exciting to hear all about it.

“Just wow! She is so... perfect. I don’t even how I could believe Piper was my mate. Ainhoa is just amazing, smart, beautiful, sweet, full of humor, carrying. I’m already in love and she will be the best mother Harper could ask for. I can’t wait for them to meet. I’m a lucky bastard!” He says, cheerful.

The three of us smile at him. He deserves that.

“Welcome to the family!” Anton tells him with a slap in the back before to hug him.

“He is my brother in law, not your, dumbass!” Alec says.

“The brother of my brother is my brother.” Anton retorts.

“This is bullshit.” Alec replies.

“As if you don’t see Darius as your brother!”

“It’s not the same!”

“How so?” Anton asks raising his left eyebrow.

“He is the brother of my sister!”

“So it’s exactly the same!” Anton says victoriously.

“Not at all. And with the two of you, we need to be supportive and team-ups together.” Alec denies.

“I’m starving. I’m going to eat, you can join me when you will have grown up.” I say leaving the dining room.

“I brought croissants and chocolate croissants if you want some.” Collin tells me showing me the bag in his hands.

“Let’s go! They can keep like that for hours!” I tell him eager to eat.

“I know... We used to be like that too with Connor.” He says with sadness.

“Give it time and you will be close again.” I tell him.

“I don’t think so. Too many damages were done.”

“It will be different but you can be close again if it’s what you want.”

“We will see.” He sighs.

I nod:” Let eat.”

Markus should be here at any moment now. Dad, Darius, and Constantinos arrived an hour and half ago. Darius refused to let Veronica come because “it’s not safe enough for his pregnant mate.” Overprotective boring mate! Alistair and Meli arrived an hour ago. And Ezra and Rose arrived 40 minutes ago.

I avoided Liam, his parents, Aiden and his parents all morning. They were and still act weird and it’s so annoying. What’s wrong with them???

All my family and friends are sitting in the living room while Anton and I are in the kitchen but he suddenly stopped what he was doing - meaning warming the water for the tees - and I don’t know why. He isn’t even moving anymore.

“What are you doing love? Why did you stop?” I ask him.

“Anna-Lynn, I thought you had questions so I came.” She replies.

She looks at Anton and smiles: “If I tell you, you will live a long life if you mate with Liam. Would you mate with him?”

You have a short laugh. Is she serious???

“I am my child.” She confirms.

I shake my head at the absurdity of the question:” Few years with Anton are better than an eternity with Liam.”

She nods:” I was expected that answer.”

“Can you unfreeze Anton, please? I have nothing to hide from him and my questions concern him too.”

She nods in agreement.

“Why it’s not working anymore? It likes it frozen suddenly.” He says slapping lightly the kettle.

“Anton, Love, we aren’t alone.” I tell him.

The moon goddess clears her throat that makes him look at her.

“Oh shit! I mean Moon Goddess it’s a pleasure to meet you.” Anton says bowing his head.

“What can we do for you Moon Goddess?” He asks her.

“You can start by calling me by my name, Selina. And it’s more about what I can do for you and your baby.” She says.

“Why I’m pregnant? I told you I didn’t want to give birth to a child if it’s to abandon her a few years later.” I tell her.

“Does that mean you don’t appreciate my gift?” She asks.

“No of course not. We are really grateful! Both of us.” Anton says.

I’m warier than him about her. She is the one who’s making me pay for other mistakes... with my life.

“I know. I came to apologize to Anna-Lynn. I know you found my decision to call you back by my side unfair but you have to understand my position. The first lycans, I’ve created, were very powerful and dangerous creatures. They were turning bad easily most of them became evils actually. It was so hard and painful to eradicate them all. You parents both come from the first lines of werewolves as Liam's parents. I chose for you the most powerful werewolf as your mate. And what did they all do when you weren’t as they expected?” She says the last sentence with anger.

We don’t say anything and we let her keep going.

Anton looks at her in awe, stunned by her words and not knowing if it’s positive or not.

My heart is beating wildly as Anton lets a huge sigh go before coming to hug me. I look at him and his eyes are tearing of happiness. He is so amazing and so cute. Pfff, as if he does only hot and sexy... Bullshit he does cute too! Selina laughs and looks at me amused. Damn, she is reading my mind. Noisy goddess stay out of my head! She laughs even more.

“There is more.” She tells us when

“But?” I ask I’m so sure there’s a but.

Lycans are free to mate who they want but it’s mating for life, no second chance. Your instincts are powerful and they will guide you toward your other half. Your children, like you, will be able to feel their perfect matches but it’s could be any creature mated already or not as I will not be involved. I don’t want to repeat the mistake I did with you. After the marking, the other half will turn into a Lycan too but the Lycan has to be the first to mark the other one, always. It will avoid unwanted mating.”

“But I want him to mark me first. There’s nothing you can do?” I protest.

He’s still not convinced so I add: “ If one day she criticized her name we could say to her that it was not our fault.”

My joke works as he laughs and nods.

“Thank you!” I tell to Selina.

“I should go now. I had a busy night.”She tells us.

Now I understand why they were acting weird.

“You visited my biological family and Liam, didn’t you. Why?” I ask.

“I know you moved on and you wish for them to live in peace but I’m not that forgiven. They need to pay for their mistakes.” She explains.

“Thank you.” Anton says as I don’t know how to respond to that.

“I will...Wait!” Anton says. “ Selina, our daughter, Noah is her Lycan’s mate. So that means he has another mate?”

“Yes, he has another mate. I had already fated with a mate. I discover he was your daughter’s mate at the same time he has. Mates are paired as soon as the younger one was born and I can’t undo what I have done already. But my matches are perfect when the souls are still pure and sometimes life makes them grown apart and not as a great matching as they were supposed to. Hopefully, it will be the same for him.” She explains.

“Okay...” I say. I hope it will not cause any trouble.
