Alec went for a run right after Liam and Aiden left. He needed to let his wolf out. I was alone at home for two hours with was nice. Collin is spending a lot of time with his parents as in a week he will be leaving. With Connor, it’s still difficult. Unfortunately, 7 days will not be enough to fix that.

“How are you?” Alec asks me entering the kitchen.

“I’m fine. Don’t worry.” I smile.

He sighs: “It’s just that I know you didn’t want to face Dmitri.”

“I don’t mind. And I win as I’ve pissed him off. But we need to find where he has my blood and to destroy it.”

“I know... I was thinking of blowing up as we did for his other warehouse.” He says smiling.

“He will know it’s us.”

“Of course but he will have no proof.”

“Who’s warehouse you want to blow up.” Asks Collin.

“Dmitri’s warehouse.” I say.

“Hm?” He asks confused.

“She means Prince Dmitri, second son of the Vampire’s King Vladimir. “ says Alpha Franck.

I see it’s almost diner time. Men! If I knew better I would say they are governed by their hunger. Nobody to help me but all on time to eat what I’ve cooked.

“Why do you want to do that?” Collin asks.

“Because he has flasks of my blood and I don’t want him to use it.”

“That’s creepy! Why would he keep blood?” He says.

“Seriously?!” I can’t help but say.

“I don’t know maybe because he is a vampire. Vampires are known to love blood. But that’s only my theory.” Says Alec in a duh tone.

I shake my head to not laugh.

“That was a stupid question. Sorry. But why now I don’t get it?”

“Because he is the one who provided to Markus the poison. The said poison who is nothing more than Anna-Lynn’s blood.” Explains Alpha Franck.

“What’s the fuck!” Collin says covering Harper's ears.

“Why you did tell us?” Asks Alpha Franck.

“Is that not obvious? Because you will have to accuse me.”

“True.” He Concedes.

“Do you think is that toxin who killed your wolf?” He asks me after a few minutes when nobody else was speaking.

Not again! Do I have to do this over and over again? Well apparently yes.

“No.” I say not hiding my irritation.

“Why?” He keeps asking.

“Because there is no wolf and there never was!”

“How can you be so sure?”

“Because!” I almost scream.

“So LB Toxin is for Lilly’s Blood Toxin?” Asks Collin changing the subject.

“Almost. Only one word is correct.” Says Alec.

“How prince Dimitri was able to have your blood? I mean you met only him the day of the blood night.” Asks Alpha Franck.

“How do you know that?” Alec asks him suspiciously.

“My friend, Judge Sinclar, told me the prince flew the day for New Orleans. So I concluded you didn’t see him before that night.”

“It was not his idea. The Comte De Beauregard drained my blood three times before that night. When Dmitri’ve discovered that after his death. He took the flasks the comte had.”

“The Comte never drank blood from you before.” Collin asks.

“Drink the blood of a slave without it master is illegal. It’s a death sentence. Actually, before The Comte's death, Dimitri didn’t know about him draining blood for the salve he bought for him.” I explain to him.

“But the prince didn’t drink your blood as he is still alive.”

“No, he likes to let his friends test first for them to know what they will never have it again.”

“What a sick bas- I mean a horrible person.” He says. I smile as he corrected himself because of Harper. This is so cute.

Alec laughs out loud. We are looking at him.

“I can wait to tell Anton how you’re falling for the perfect father!” He tells me.

“That’s not true!” I protest.

“You didn’t see your face a few seconds ago. A bit more and you would have been drooling!” He teases me.

“She is sharing your bed, it’s so much worst.” Says Alpha Franck.

“Anton knows I’m not a threat, but I’ve succeeded to anger him when I told him you were sleeping naked.” Says Alec proud of himself.

“Alec!” I scream. I give up he is impossible.

“Why does he trust you that much?” Questions Alpha Franck.

“Because I’m mated.”

“But your mate didn’t mark you.” He retorts surprised.

“She would have ripped his head off if she had tried... which is not a bad idea now that I think about it.” I say tapping my finger on my lips.

“She is not a werewolf?” Says Alpha Franck but it’s more a rhetorical question.

“No, she is not.” Alec confirms.

“May I ask what she is?” He asks him, curious.

“Alix is a shifter. She can shift in every animal living or not but her family was cursed for 10 generations and they can shift in one animal only. She was the 4thgenerations. We broke the curse and now she can shift in any animal she wants but it’s painful and in an emergency shift, she shifts in the first animal she had ever shift. At least our children will not suffer the same destiny, thanks to Melinda.”

“What was the first animal she shifted to?” Asks Collin curious too.

Alec cringes: “Her sister and she were early shifters. They’ve both shifted when they were around 4-5 years old. Normally the first shift happens when you are mature around 16 so they have time to choose what is their main animal. Their father’s main animal is an eagle. Them, they were too young to choose properly.”



“So?” Says Collin excited.



“They were on their dinosaurs period. Alix and Ainhoa, her sister, had both shifted in a T-Rex.”

“No way!” Says Alpha Franck.

“Awesome! Are they twin?” Says Collin.

“No, but they have 11 months apart. So they grew up together and are close.” Alec Replies.

“So the jokes about Jurassic Park are half true?” Says Collin.

“Absolutely!” Laughs Alec.

“So you really ran away the first time you meet you mate?” Asks Alpha Franck incredible.

“I had a T-Rex running after me of course I ran. Even if my wolf screamed mate in my head I ran for my life. She was screaming too, trying to say she was happy to meet me but it was a T-Rex. It was incomprehensible and totally creepy. Every normal person would have run in my situation.” Alec defends himself and we all laugh.

“She is a sweet woman with a great heart.” I say when the laughs die.

“Sweet woman who just can turn in a dinosaur. Remind me to never piss her off.” Says Collin.

“I didn’t know shifters could shift in dinosaurs.” Says Alpha Franck.

“Only one tribe can do that in South America. Her mother comes from there.” I reply.

“We are living in an incredible world!” He comments.

“I know.” I agree.

“What’s the weirdest thing you ever see?” He asks me.

“Difficult to say... I think a human shifter was what surprised me the most.”

“How so? You met a lot of them.”He asks not understanding.

“I mean I met a killer whale who was able to shift in a human. Both his parents were killer whales.”

“Oh wow. I didn’t know it was possible.”

“Me neither until I met him.” I tell him.

“What?” I ask him when I see him fixing me.

“Maybe when Liam will be better, I should travel with Marie to see the world by ourselves. The more time I spend with you the more I think we know to low about it.” Alpha Franck replies.

“How is it going with Luna Marie?” I ask him.

He sighs: “ Still the same. I’m the peacemaker so I’m always the one who takes the first step. But not this time, no for something so important. It’s eating me though so I spend my afternoon in our building company as I’m managing it until Liam gets better.”

“So you drown yourself in works to avoid your mate?” Alec says.

“No, I focus on something else.”

“You were out all afternoon. You could have to go for a run. Releasing your wolf could have help.” Alec replies.

“I didn’t want to meet her.”

“So you are indeed avoiding her.” Alec confirms.

Alpha Franck looks annoyed. I can understand that, he has enough on his plate and he’s an Alpha. Alphas don’t avoid anybody as they are on the top. Well except their pissed Luna. All the Alphas I met were avoiding their Luna when they were angry against them... Still, they don’t like it when someone notices it and even less when that someone tells them.

“So... Nice talking but we’re missing out the most important point.” Collin says changing the subject and trying to ease the tension.

“What point?” Asks Alec arching his eyebrows.

“Dinner time! What’s the menu today because I don’t know you but I’m starving! Time to see if I find a new favorite dish!” He says with excitement in his eyes.

He succeeded in his mission to change the mood as we all laugh. Collin and the food! It’s a true love story. He doesn’t need a mate actually.

Dinner was nice as always and we spoke about this and that. Collin asked questions about my blood. Alec told us his theory about the toxicity of my blood. He thought it’s to avoid to be marked by a wrong person. It’s not a bad theory actually. I never thought about that.

After diner, when Harper went to bed, we spoke about traveling. Alpha Franck asked us what was the place to see and the best things to do. Collin made a bucket list of what places he must visit. And for each places the food he had to try. It was nice and we joked a lot. We also spoke a lot about Alistair. Collin confessed to me that he’ve shared with Liam and Aiden one of the videos I did with Alistair. I appreciated his honesty even if I would have preferred he didn’t share anything with them.

Before going to bed Alpha Franck proposed to help to prepare my fight against Markus. I politely declined as I don’t need it but I have been touched by his concern. Alec, Collin and I kept talking an hour after he left.

We are in the middle of the night when I wake up. Something is off and I can hear noises outside the house.

“Alec! Wake up!” I whisper shaking him.

“What?” He says more asleep than wake up.

“Something is wrong. There is someone outside.”

“Great! This can wait tomorrow.” He replies.

“Alec! Come on we have to-“

Before I can finish my sentence, spray can break the window. It’s wolfbane gas, weakening Alec immediately and even if he wakes up his reaction is slower. I push Alec out of the room as we meet Collin and Harper in the corridor. His reactions are slow too as he is infected by the gas too. Alpha Franck comes to help Collin as all go down to go out of the house. Alpha Franck is less affects by the wolfbane gas, one of the perksº to be an Alpha.

“Whatever happens promise you won’t reveal your secret Lilly.” Alec’s pleading me as we are in the stairs.

“What is he talking about?” Asks Alpha Franck.

“Nothing and especially not now.” I reply.

“Please Lilly!” Alec insists.

“Fine, I will not turn expected extreme emergency.” I say.

“That’s all I ask. Thanks.” He replies.

In the living room, we can face to face with at least 15 masks men. The smell of wolfbane is suffocating here and I can see Alec and Collin are weakening and I have just the time to catch Harper before they both collapse. Thank god as Harper’s is not mature yet she is not affected. I put her in her baby bouncer. I shoot my twin saï to two rogues walking towards Alec and Collin. As I look to Alpha Franck, I see a rogue with a gun shooting him in the shoulder I launch my Masaï spear and kill him instantly. On my left, I see another rogue ready to shoot the Alpha. Time slows down I could launch at the rogue but he is already shooting so I use my full speed to shield him with my body.

“No! We surrender stop shooting.” I heard him say.

Damn it! I shouldn’t have listened to Alec. As I’m failing away. I hear a few rogues speak.

“The pack knows we need to go now! Hurry up! Take them all!”

“Yes, boss.” Another one replies.

“The baby too?” Asks someone else.

“Yes, she will be a great asset to use against them.” Says the boss.

I'm so done playing nice! They are all so fucking dead! Then everything goes black.
