We are in my office with Aiden, John, and Connor. We are waiting for my father. He mind-linked us a few minutes ago for an emergency meeting.

“Thank you all for coming. Anna-Lynn was kidnapped and sold as a sex slave to a vampire when she was 10.” Says my father getting directly in the reason of the meeting. When nobody says nothing he keeps going. ” I know you are too young to remember that but John I think you do, she is the human girl that face on The Dante’s brothers and help the police to make them fall.”

“You mean she is Jane Doe?” Asks John surprised.

“So the prince paid her to shut her mouth?” Asks Aiden.

“The king actually. He bought her silence but he also offered protection in the Dante case. She was guarded by Vampires during the time of the trial. Before her, the Dante Family had the Vampire protection as they were their biggest clients. So Judge Sinclar thinks it was a part of the agreement she signed with the royal family that the Dante business has to fall.”

“Wow!” Says Aiden.

“There is more. It’s the LB Toxin who killed all the Vampires during that night. And it’s the first time that poison was used.”

“Anna-Lynn mentioned Dmitri, on the phone, has the provider of the poison to Markus.” Says Aiden.

“Well if he is a hybrid werewolf/ Vampire as she thinks he is, it could explain how he has connections with vampires.” Says my father. I roll my eyes, again with that stupid theory.

“Don’t roll your eyes at me, Liam. I know you don’t like that idea but it’s more than a possibility.”

“Don’t you get it. Accepting that possibility means accepting the fact that the intimacy I had with my mate was stolen by him. I just can’t!”

“Sorry son, I can only imagine how difficult it is for you. If only we could ask a vampire...”

“Okay... Another thing I was poisoned with the LB Toxin and Dmitri is the only one who has it in his possession. Do you know why he sold it to Alpha Markus? How do they know each other?”

I nod. Me too I flinched. By surprise of course. I didn’t think about that before too preoccupied with the fact I lost my brother. But he is right. Her voice held the authority of a Luna. Surely Moon Goddess gifted her with that voice and empathy sense to help her with her Luna position but why me? I need a Luna strong enough to balance me as Nora does and my wolf needs a companion. This is why he agreed with me when I had rejected Anna-Lynn, he wasn’t not picturing his life without a wolf running by his side. Anyway, I need more information to understand the situation I’m in between Markus and Anna-Lynn’s.

“I need to speak with Anna-Lynn. I need some answers. Dad can you send her to me please.” He nods.” Thank you for coming. You can leave.”

Anna-Lynn is in my office for at least for an half-hour and she refused to answer anything. I don’t why she is so difficult. How can I trust her if she doesn’t give me any answers?

“It’s not complicated, I just why you are here? Why did you come back now?”

“How long are we going to do that? I will not answer your questions. I’m here to help and I don’t want anything form you or your pack. If I wanted you dead believe me you will already be .”

“How did you know it would be challenged ?”

“You want to know why I’m here then let me show you..” She tells me annoyed extending her hand. I sigh and take it. And She shares her memories with me. I open my mind-link to Aiden like that he can also see her memory.

We are playing in the park with Duncan when suddenly I see Willow looking at me on the opposite side.

“What if I save Alistair only?”

“Is that even an option? Alpha Markus will kill everyone in the pack?”

Willow says taking my hand again. This time the vision focus on the dead bodies, I see my brother dead his eyes still open, my parents, Liam, his parents, persons that I don’t know and suddenly I see two boys 6 years old. One of them had been tortured. What kind of monster can do that!

“No, of course, it’s not. How is that possible? How can he kill Liam and slaughter the pack? All the pack?”

“I don’t know but if you don’t do anything they will all die. It’s inevitable. You are the only one who can help them.”

“Why? What is it you are not telling me?”

“Nothing important for now. Just know all the people of your birth pack will die soon.”

Anna-Lynn takes out her hand. She doesn’t want me to see more, to see who that man is. That was a weird experience to be in her mind.

That kid who had been tortured in the vision was Tom, my own son. I need to seat. Aiden is already seating he is so pale now that I’m afraid he will faint at any moment. The other kid was Kaiden.

“Prince Dmitri again. You know the Comte De Beauregard used to be his bidder for his slave. Until he was killed 15 years ago, while you were there. The rumors said he tried to double-cross the prince. That why he died. I just find it’s a weird coincidence that you were there and you know so much about that poison. For sure you know more than you are willing to say.” I tell her.

About that party when the Comte was killed, I signed an agreement with the royal vampire family and they paid me a lot to make sure that evening would stay blurry in my mind. So don’t expect me to tell you more about that awful night. As for the venom, I am the only one with Rose who studied it. This is why I know so much about it.”

Someone knocks on the door right after she left. Anna-Lynn passes her head in my office and says: “Since yesterday night I have a bad feeling.”

“Like the one you had before the attack?” Asks Aiden and for the first time, she looks at him.

“No, like someone is going to do something really stupid. So be careful!” She closes the door before we can say anything else.

“I still don’t trust her but that vision...” Aiden says shivering.

“I know I need to be ready for the challenge. I can’t let that happens.”

“You’re right and it’s starting by getting rest. So go to bed.”

I don’t like that but he is right and now that I know what’s going to happen if I lose, I have no choice than to kill Markus.

“I don’t think it will be enough to win against him. What if I can’t?”

“Hey don’t think about this! We will find another solution in this case. For now, be careful with what you are eating and drinking.”

“Okay.” I concede.
