Chapter Billionaire Add 67
Chapter 0067
"Miss Smith, are you listening?"
Mia snapped back to reality and responded quickly. After hanging up, she grabbed her bag and hurried out the door.
Just as she stepped outside, she ran into Hunter and Jenna coming in. She pretended not to see them and brushed past. "Mia, where are you off to again?" She had no intention of engaging, but Jenna wasn't about to let her go so easily.
Mia stopped, turned slowly, and looked directly at Jenna. "I'm heading to the hospital."
She had tried multiple times but still couldn't bring herself to ask Hunter about the new medication. Maybe she could find another way. If nothing else worked, then she would consider asking Hunter as a last resort.
In the past, he would have been the first person she would turn to. Some things had changed, though.
Hunter frowned, recalling something Sam had mentioned earlier that Mia's grandmother urgently needed the new medication. She was willing to pay a high price privately but wouldn't ask him for help. She was clearly drawing a line between them.
"I need to discuss something with you. Come back to the office, and we'll talk first," Jenna said, glancing at Hunter beside her, whose expression gave nothing away. She wasn't sure if he had picked up on her words, but even if he had, he wouldn't step in to help Mia. "I have an emergency and need to leave right now. Whatever you need can wait until I'm back," Mia replied flatly.
An hour ago, Hunter had promised her he wouldn't appear in public with Jenna. And yet, here they were, side by side, looking every bit like a loving couple. It was nauseating, like a punch to the gut.
"Mia seems upset. Maybe it was because you dropped me off?" Jenna turned to Hunter with a look of feigned innocence.
Mia glanced at her and couldn't hold back a smirk. "I couldn't care less. Don't flatter yourself! Why don't you both head back to the office? Standing around here talking only gives people more to gossip about our so-called 'love triangle.' And if I hear anyone say I'm trying to cozy up to Mr. Jasper again, I'll... post a picture of our marriage certificate in the office chat!"
Mia's grandmother was in the ER, fighting for her life, yet Jenna insisted on keeping her around to flaunt her "relationship" with Hunter.
Mia held her composure only because they were at the law firm and she didn't want to create a scene. But that didn't mean she had no temper. No matter how favored Jenna was, she was still the mistress. Mia was the one Hunter had legally married, the real Mrs. Jasper. If Jenna wanted to play innocent, Mia had no intention of letting her get away with it,
Jenna was so furious she nearly choked, seething with rage but too afraid to confront Mia directly in front

If Mia actually posted a photo of their marriage certificate in the office chat, the whole firm would know that she and Hunter were the real couple. Jenna would be utterly humiliated. She couldn't let that happen. Hunter frowned, grabbed Mia by the wrist, and quickly pulled her into his office. Once the door was shut, he pinned her against it, looking down at her with an intense gaze. "Mia, I've agreed to everything you asked. What more do you want?"
His gaze was sharp, clearly showing his anger.
Mia lifted her head, smiling slightly. "Do you even remember what you promised me?"
He hesitated for a moment, realizing he couldn't recall
A hint of mockery flashed in her eyes. "You don't even remember what you promised, so how can you say you've kept your word? Hunter, we've been married for three years. Have you ever truly considered me?"
Of course he hadn't! If he had, he wouldn't be parading around with Jenna.
"Mia, stop being unreasonable!" Hunter snapped, his brows knitted in frustration.
"How am I being unreasonable? Jenna is the one who started all of this, yet somehow, it's my fault? Why don't you say something to her?" Mia took a deep breath, her thoughts drifting to her grandmother in the ER. Her chest tightened, and her eyes grew misty. "Jenna is a senior partner and a manager here. If she needed to discuss something with you, you should have handled it professionally and respectfully, not given her the cold shoulder. You're letting personal feelings interfere with work. Is that what you call professionalism?" Hunter replied calmly.
