As soon as she called Jenna "Mrs. Jasper," Mandy wanted to bite her tongue. What was she thinking? That was ridiculous! But Jenna looked positively delighted and responded with a pleased smile.

Mia, on the other hand, clenched the documents in her hands so tightly they tore in two. Taking a deep breath, she turned to Mandy. "Go and gather Information from the client. I need to speak with Miss Walker alone."

Mandy caught a glimpse of the torn papers in Mia's hands and hurried out, sensing her frustration. Mia clearly wasn't thrilled about losing the team leader position, and Mandy figured that was reason enough for her anger. She didn't think to connect it to Hunter or anything beyond the office politics.

As soon as Mandy left, Jenna launched into accusations. "Mia, what's the deal? Why didn't you answer my calls?"

Mia raised her gaze, eyes cold and unhurried. "If you have any questions about work, feel free to ask in the group chat. I'm sure the team will be more than happy to help. We're colleagues now, so getting too familiar might raise a few eyebrows. I'm sure you don't want the entire office knowing I'm Hunter's wife and you're... the other woman, right?" Mia's tone was intentionally slow, emphasizing her point.

Jenna just came to the firm and immediately wanted to show Mia who's boss.

Without Hunter around, she dropped the pretense, her face twisting into an ugly sneer. "If people here find out about you and Hunter, do you think he'd just let it slide?"

Mia raised a brow, her smile slow and unwavering. "We're legally married, remember? So if anyone's out of place, it's you. Just say what you came to say and leave." Jenna's eyes blazed. "Mia, you wouldn't dare!"

Mia leaned back, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Oh, I might not have to dare, Jenna. There's always someone willing to do it for me. Care to take that gamble?" The implied meaning was that Mia could use Mr. Jasper Sr.'s influence if she needed to.

Jenna trembled with rage. "Mia! You witch!"

She knew full well that Mr. Jasper Sr. favored Mia. She couldn't afford to take that risk,

Mia just smirked, glancing up briefly as she organized the torn papers on her desk. "You've slept with both brothers. Who's the real witch here? Done talking? Then get out." She didn't fear Jenna tattling to Hunter as everything she said was true.

"You'll regret this, Mia!" Jenna spat, storming out of the office.

She had arrived with an air of confidence and left in a fit of fury.

The bystanders immediately snapped their heads back down to their work, though some couldn't resist pulling each other into a group chat to gossip about what just happened. "Our future boss's wife probably went to warn Mia not to mess with Hunter!"
