Alpha’s Thrice Rejectedd Mate By Ida Rowe

Chapter 28

Chapter 28

I paced my room that night, picking up dolls and bears and other stuffed toys and putting them back down randomly. I hugged a few, but nothing would give me comfort.

Hale wanted me to move into his room with him. He’d wanted that since the moment we finished making love for the first time. But I’d resisted, wanting to wait for the actual mating ceremony.

A little imp in my mind kept telling me he was going to reject me after all, and I didn’t want to have to move all my belongings. Again.

My mind suddenly shifted to a more pressing matter.

Shawn, Goddess, what could they be doing to him?

I imagined all kinds of terrible lures, each worse than the last. I should have insisted on taking him home with me when Hale dragged me back to the castle. This whole time I’d been so blindly concerned about myself, it never occurred to me Hale wouldn’t be able to recall Shawty in time.

Finally, I couldn’t stand the quiet anymore. I picked my way around the mess I’d made of toys and walked out of my bedroom. heading for Hale’s suite.

If nothing else, maybe he could just hold me and tell me everything would be alright. That’s what mates were for, right?

It had been so easy to drug Mason’s drink. So ridiculously easy.

He was so torn up about disappointing that bi tch Kora by losing the slt’s lover that he was already drinking himself silly tonight. One word in the right maid’s ear, one devious little threat, and a purple vial later, and Mason was out cold in his bed.

I smoothed my hands over my most revealing silk nightie and slid into bed next to him. This one left very little to the imagination. As I expected. Mason didn’t make a single movement. No reaction to my presence. He snored softly, my Alpha.

MY Alpha.

I ran my hands over his n*ked, sleeping form. We knew each other’s bodies well. This wasn’t the first time I had been in his bed-and it wouldn’t be the last.

That wasn’t all we knew about one another, though. I knew his goals for the pack and agreed with some of them. The others, well, I could massage those contrary ideas into ones that were more to my liking.

He was a man, after all. It was never hard to shape their thinking, in my experience.

If that harlot Kora were out of the way, everything would work smoothly. I would be Luna, and basically, I would have the authority to run the pack any way I saw fit. Mason, well, as long as a man thought he was making the decisions, it didn’t matter who was actually in charge.

“Mason…” I whispered, reaching around to stroke his c*ck.

Mason grunted I rather missed f*cking him, actually. He was big, powerful. Endlessly energetic. If I had to rate my lovers, I’d put him at the top. Unlike that irritating a shole at

the bar…..

“Kora…” Mason groaned as he responded to my touch.

I pressed my l*ps into a thin line. When we were mated, I would have that name banned, eradicated from every record. I’d put a death sentence on anyone who dared to utter it. And if Mason ever said it to me in bed agam, I’d cut his damm tongue out.

I’d have the loyalty of the pack by then. They would all do exactly what I said. No one would dare defy me!

But, right now, it was good he was reacting, no matter who he thought was giving him at ha ndjob.

“I suppose I’ll let that slide this time, lover,” I said, cuddling up behind him and continuing to jerk him off.

Where was that bi tch? I knew with everything weighing on her mind, Kora wouldn’t stay away long. After all, Mason did promise that he’d get her beloved Shawn back.

And then he’d promptly failed to do so.

A weak woman like her would need some kind of reassurance.

I dealt in guarantees. And while I’d let Mason wriggle his way out of mating with me once. I wasn’t going to let it happen again.

“Come on, Kora. Come and see…” I whispered gleefully.

“Kora…” Mason murmured again, his hips starting to move.

I laughed when Mason got tired of the ha ndjob and rolled me under him. I had known that he would do just that. I knew his b*dy well, and he’d taught me all of its secrets.

Mason made short work of my nightie, simply tearing the panties and thrusting inside of me. It was annoying. I’d need to replace my lingerie all over again. He was always hard on my wardrobe.

When we were mated, I was going to give him a stern warning about it.

I yawned as Mason continued to move clumsily. Probably because of the drugs. “That’s it, big boy. You just keep going,” I said, giving him a reassuring pat on the back

I heard the doorknob turn and draped my arm across Mason’s shoulder, the other thrown. over my head as though I was in the throes of passion. I wrapped my legs around his waist.

“Mason, I need to-” The woman in the doorway froze, her hand still gripping the handle of Mason’s bedroom door.

I wiggled my fingers at her in a teasing hello. “Kora, nice of you to join us!”

Kora turned absolutely white, her mouth hanging open in what appeared to be a frozen

scream.

Mason sniffed the air. “Kora?” He looked to the doorway with hazy eyes.

“Sc rew you, Mason Hale.” Kora breathed. She turned on her heel and left.

Then Mason looked down at me.

I smiled. That was exactly what I was doing, after all… Screwing Mason Hale.

Victory.

I couldn’t believe I’d trusted him, I knew, I KNEW all along he was going to disappoint

me.

I pelted down the hall, then down the stairs in my pajamas, shredding them as I shifted out on the grounds.

The little imp had been right. Mason Hale didn’t love me. He just wanted to add me to his tally.

Well, I might be just another notch on his bedpost now, but I certainly wasn’t joining his h arem. If I’d had any presence of mind, I would have rejected him right then and there.

See how he liked bearing a scar of shame for a while.

Giselle. Of course it was Giselle.

He’d made quite a show of defending me to her, made a grand gesture of “throwing her out of the castle.”

Obviously, he hadn’t thrown her far enough. Certainly not from his bed.

Tears stung my eyes as I loped into the woods, but I shook them away into my fur. I was the night. I was a killer. I was Blo ody Kora.

Mason Hale just showed me why I should never have appealed to my softer side.

I was going to destroy that softer side.

A roar erupted from my throat as I jumped over a stream and bounded up an embankment, weaving through trees as though I were a wisp of wind.

I was going to get Shawn myself.
