Chapter Recruiting
Aria and Marcus left half an hour after they got to the pack, Eve sending Aria an intense smirk before mind linking her alpha. Have funnn alpha! Despite herself Aria blushed furiously, earning her an appraising look from Marcus as she pulled herself into the passenger seat. Oh please, Eve you and Blake are all over each other, don't think I haven't noticed! She threw back as Eve laughed in her mind. Yes alpha, my mate and I are VERY happy. Aria shuddered as Eve flashed some images through Aria's mind before she blocked her beta out of her mind.
Sighing, she leaned back against the seat a sudden wave of tiredness falling over her. She let out a little gasp as her mate's hand slid onto her upper thigh, squeezing lightly. She turned to meet his gaze, his eyes worried as he took in the bags under her eyes.
"Aria, you will be no use to us if you can't hardly hold yourself upright. The power you just used has only tired you out more, you have pushing yourself constantly, even though you are an alpha you are still my mate and so I am asking you...begging you to take care of yourself and sleep right now." Marcus had turned his eyes back to the road that they were now speeding down in the black suburban but Aria knew that he was waiting for her response. She was to tired to argue so instead she placed her hand over top of Marcus's and closed her head, breathing in her mates scent.
Despite their growing closer, they had hardly had any time to themselves, let alone mark each other. Every moment that they had spent together since Cain had arrived had been for pack business or Aria's training. Not once had they been able to sneak off for a dinner or even a run, not that Aria would leave her business for pleasure. She and Marcus had a silent agreement that in order for their relationship to work, they had to be the best alpha's that they could be and focus on their packs. Until the war was over her and Marcus would have to wait. She took comfort that she and Marcus could be together at the moment, and with her hand resting on hers she drifted off.
Aria was jerked away by the screech of tires as the car came to a screeching halt and she was thrown forward into the confines of her seatbelt. Automatically she let out a growl and snapped her head towards Marcus, unconsciously looking to see if he was okay. She noticed that he was doing the same to her, his eyes scanning her body before they both let out simultaneous growls at a knock on Marcus's window. A Lone Peak warrior stood outside glaring at them and Aria's jaw ticked. How dare he glare at us, I'm gonna.. Marcus's hand grasped hers calming her almost instantly.
"State your business." The warrior said in a brisk tone, his eyes widening slightly as the window was rolled down all the way and he got a sense of the power that both of the alphas were giving off. He bowed his head almost instantly and took a step back as Aria sent him a glare, leaning forward past Marcus to address the guard.
"Alpha Aria and Alpha Marcus here to see Alpha Grey of Lone Peak Pack. I'm sure your alpha told you of our imminent arrival, we are here to discuss something important." The guard gae a brisk nod of his head before allowing them to continue up the long winding dirt path that led to a large mansion surrounded by smaller houses. Aria took a deep breath, summoning the buzz of energy to her just so that she had it on the ready, should anything go wrong. Although they were here for peaceful reasons, three alphas in a close vicinity was never a good thing and Aria was suddenly very glad that her mate had told her to rest, feeling energized.. literally.
A tall stocky man came shouldering his way out of a large group of pack members that stood in the large yard training, walking towards the two as they stepped from the car. He smiled at them before extending his hand to Aria who accepted it with a smile of her own. She heard a low growl behind her and released Alpha Grey's hand immediately, swatting at Marcus who wrapped his arm around her and gave Alpha Grey a tight smile. The alpha looked between the two of them as Aria became slightly uncomfortable, and then the Alpha broke out in a grin.
"You two are mates aren't you? That must be....interesting, two alphas mates. Moon goddess shows you something new everyday doesn't she?" Aria relaxed as the Alpha brushed off Marcus's growl and turned, leading them into the mansion towards a set of oak doors engraved with wolves. Stepping inside the doors that were shut quietly behind them she sank into one of the plush chairs in front of the Alpha's desk where he sat as well steepling his fingers in front of him. Aria scoured his face for a second, taking in his calm demeanor before she spoke smoothly.
"Alpha Grey I spoke to you briefly on the phone so I am sure you know why I am here. The moon goddess has visited me several times in my dreams and a few time while I was awake. She has not only told me of my new found powers, but she tells me that a threat to us all is approaching. Rogues are coming, many of them by the information I have gathered, and they want to kill us. We are here to ask you to join us. You have a large pack and seeing as how the threat to you is the same to us I thought you would have accepted by now." Aria quirked her eyebrow at him as Alpha grey swallowed, his eyes darting quickly before landing on hers once more.
"Yes...well I just am a bit unbelieving of your powers. The moon goddess hasn't visited a wolf in a long time and for her to be visiting you so suddenly, so many times, is a bit over fetched. I am afraid that this might be some elaborate ruse to lure me away from my territory." Aria nodded her head, before standing from the chair.
"I can show you my powers, if you wish. I understand your concerns and if by showing you I can secure your warriors then I am more than willing." The alpha looked surprised before he stood and joined Aria as she strode out of the building, ignoring the curious stares of Alpha Greys pack as she stood in the center of his yard. Marcus leaned against a tree a few yards away, with a smirk on his face as Alpha Grey crossed his arms staring at her cautiously.
Summoning the energy with a command she pulled it to her, commanding more of it to flow into towards her. She gathered it around her and then she asked the wind to heed her once again and rose several feet off the ground. Forming the energy into two large balls in either of her hands she smirked down at Alpha Grey who stood staring up at her dumbfounded. Then, she thrust her hands towards the sky and the balls of energy shot up bursting with a loud BOOMS and showering their sparks of energy onto Aria's shoulders. A large crowd had gathered staring up at Aria as she lowered herself to the ground and Alpha Grey was silent for a long moment before he tilted his head slightly to Aria.
"The moon goddess has truly blessed you. I will join you and your army now that I can see this is no ruse." Aria felt a smile bloom across her face as she bowed her head in return to Alpha Grey, giddy with her victory.
Alpha Grey had wanted them to stay late for a celebration of the moon goddess, which was a ritual for packs before a battle but Aria had wanted to get some alone time with Marcus before they drove home in a few hours so they had retired to a room that Alpha Grey had prepared for them with the excuse that they were tired. Aria let out a giggle as Marcus pulled her quickly down the halls, eager to get to their bedroom, his impatience amusing her. He flung the door open quickly as they reached their room and pulled her inside, and quickly caging her against the door.
His lips landed on hers in a soft embrace as his hands wandered to her waist and he let little growl as she broke the kiss, leaning her forehead on his.
"I want us to mark each other Marcus. When I became Alpha I thought that a mate would weaken me, but I see now that you make me stronger and...." Aria trailed off, her remaining words captured by Marcus's strong embrace.
"I love you Aria," Marcus murmured into her ear.
Hi y'all, I understand that some of you might go on to the next chapter expecting something spicy but unfortunately I decided that as a 14 year old it would not be appropriate for me to write a scene as such, especially because my parents may read this someday and would NOT approve of that. But something that I think is important to realize is that this story is about growth, action, and fantasy more than a romance. I guess the 13+ rating would give away the no spicy scenes as well lol, just wanted to clear that up. :) let me know what you think!
