Alpha's Cursed Luna

Chapter 47

ELEANOR

My head spun as I tried to open my eyes. I groaned, feeling like I've been run over by a ten-wheeled truck. Shaking my head slightly, I got up into a sitting position as it seems I've been lying on a soft mattress.

I was gripping my hair when I heard a voice, startling me in a flash and immediately, my heart leaped out of my chest.

“Finally, you're awake.”

My eyes shot up to Veronyka, staring at me irritably with her arms folded against her chest. I circled my gaze across the room. I could feel everyone's confused gazes fixed on my face, as if I have suddenly grown two heads.

I whipped my head and noticed Veronyka had her legs crossed in front of my bed, sitting on the vanity chair while killing me with her intense glare. On the other hand, Elijah leaned against the wall to my side, whilst Adrian stared down at me with his hands shoved deep inside his pockets. I shifted on the bed, feeling uncomfy with the way Adrian was looking at me this moment. I then noticed his eyes trail down my neck, breasts, and lower body. Avoiding his gaze, I asked, “Wh-what happened?” “You hit your head and passed out. That's what happened.” Veronyka said harshly.

Dropping my eyes to my covered lap, I bit my lower lip. Praying for the floor to open up and swallow me into its abyss, out of this world.

“Relax, woman. Sister-in-law here just lost consciousness, and you're sitting there blaming her for something she can't control.” Adrian defended me and I looked up at him sheepishly.

I saw Veronyka roll her eyes at him, muttering something incoherent. She clenched her jaw, indicating her utter annoyance with Adrian's words.

“The alpha is on his way here now as we speak. He and I both know if I haven't figured why you passed out, I'd be dead.”

Elijah stepped closer to the bed. His lips arching into a visible frown.

"So tell us, what happened? Were you sick or something? If that's the case, I'll call the pack doctor to check on you.” His eyes were about to turn shimmering gold but I grabbed his hand. Shaking my head before saying, “N-No, I'm fine really. It's just...”

Should I tell them?

What excuse do I have? I gritted my teeth, clenching my jaw.

"Just what?” Veronyka snapped, shooting me one piercing glare I failed not to notice at this point. I can feel Adrian's gaze on me, too.

Gulping, I mustered all courage I buried deep within me and answered, “I think... I think I turned.” I managed to blurt out with my eyes still lowered to my lap.

“Turned?” Adrian suddenly questioned with a bold excitement tangled in his voice. Glancing towards him, I could see his eyes had lit up at the mention of my turning.

Gulping one more time, I turned my face to all of them.

“I turned 18 today,” I said nervously and their eyes widened. Adrian was the only one amused, whilst Elijah and Veronyka stared at me in disbelief.

"Why haven't you mentioned this earlier, Luna? We could've arranged a party for you,” Elijah stated as a matter of fact, but I shook my head slightly. Plastering a sheepish smile on my face, I told them, “That's won't be necessary, Elijah, but thank you.” I was thankful they even thought of celebrating my birthday.

My parents would have. Well, before they found out I'm the cursed wolf of course. Sure, they celebrated with me, I guess. But each time they would only send me the same flowers I'd put in vases along the hallway. I scoffed realizing how little they truly cared about me, just because I happened to have this bloody curse I didn’t want in the first place.

"Why not? Sister-in-law, look at yourself.” Adrian's voice reached my mind, yanking me away from my thoughts.

I furrowed my brows, looking over at him in confusion. He smiled playfully. Grabbing a hand mirror before handing it over to me.

I took it then raised it in front of my face.

As soon as my hand gripped the handle of the mirror, my eyes widened in shock.

“What...” The only word that managed to tumble out of my lips, but only through a whisper.

My hair...

My once raven hair turned into a light shade of pink, slightly red on the roots but the rest was dominated with pink. It wasn’t too bright, but it was beautiful. My blood-red eyes had shifted into neon pink, with a tint of blood-red around my irises.

More than that, my features appeared more enhanced. High, defined cheekbones, and smoother, more glowing skin. My lips were plumper than I remembered, and my small nose had looked taller than it was before. I squinted my eyes, leaning my head closer to the mirror.

That was when I realized, it wasn't there. The edge which can be seen roughly on my neck. The gruesome-looking scar that ran from my neck down to my belly button. It's missing.

Lifting my hand slowly, I tapped the soft spot right between my collarbones. Flinching slightly when I noticed my skin felt smoother on that same spot. I know because I've always hated how rough it felt when I used to rub it. I stilled, tightening my grip on the handle a little more in every passing second.

“Tsk! So what if she suddenly changed her face? It doesn't change the fact you're human,”

I snapped my eyes towards Veronyka who simply sneered at me. Mockery and contempt burned in her turquoise green eyes and I chewed my lip.

"Veronyka." Elijah shot her a sharp, pointed look, which somehow made Veronyka fall silent as she leaned back on her chair, rolling her eyes as what appeared to be a sign of her own defiance. She crossed her arms against her chest, tearing her eyes away from mine.

I watched in silence as Elijah sauntered over to Veronyka and said, "We need to talk.”

Veronyka glanced up at him with furrowed brows. Annoyance written all over her face when she snapped, "About what?"

I saw Elijah raise a black brow at her before he suddenly grabbed her wrist, pulling her towards the door.

"Ouch! Let me go! Elijah!" Veronyka struggled as Elijah continued to drag her out of the room However, it seemed her struggles were useless against him

The door closed with a loud bang and in that instant, they were gone.

Although the two were no longer inside the room, I could still hear their angry voices though it was distant. It seemed like they were screaming at one point, but moments after they stopped.

The silence broke when Adrian let out a sigh of frustration and said, "Nothing's more draining than a lovers’ quarrel, don't you think?"

He rolled his eyes and shook his head, making me smile sheepishly as I let his words sink in.

It was as if my brain was having trouble processing his words for a moment, and I furrowed my brows.

"Veronyka and Elijah are.. lovers?" I asked. Disbelief crossing my face at his odd notion.

Adrian grinned.

"Just a hunch. But don't tell anyone... I bet they're mates."

My eyes widened at him and he chuckled again.

"You know, human or werewolf, I don't think you deserve to be mocked by anyone.”

I blinked at Adrian who threw me a meaningful look.

Lowering my gaze to my hands, I felt a twinge of sadness come over me.

It was when the bed creaked that I jolted in my spot, forcing me to turn my gaze to Adrian's face inching closer towards me.

My hands instinctively gripped the sheets as I leaned back.

"A-Adrian?" I could feel my heart hammer violently against my chest.

"What are you doing?" I asked hesitantly.

He grinned and the way he looked at me sent shivers up my spine. Not the kind of shiver you would get when you feel thrilled or aroused, but the kind you feel when you're extremely scared.

"That useless brother of mine don't deserve you,” His lips curving up to a smile. I pulled my brows together, staring at him feeling dazed.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

His head tilted sidewards, his eyes watching me with a dark intent.

"You're far too precious..." He raised his leg, dropping both his hands on the bed as he began to crawl to me.

"To be his... aren't you?" His eyes pierced right through me.

I fisted my hands, gripping the sheets that covered my lap. In this moment, I wanted to bury myself within these sheets, but Adrian's weight was preventing me from doing exactly that.

My heart raced just when Adrian crawled closer towards me and I opted to close my eyes, praying. Praying for him to stop.

Just when I felt his hand slide from my breast down my waist, I jolted as adrenaline coursed through my veins. Willing me to do something. Anything.

My eyes flew open and I pushed Adrian's chest as hard as I can. It happened at the same time the bedroom door flung open with a bang, and my eyes widened when Adrian slammed against the far wall of the room before landing on the floor with a loud thud. I heard several bones break and I gasped.
