Chapter Thirty–Eight: This Can’t Be Fixed So Easily
Kiara, at the age of Fourteen.
Kiara POV:
I was running down the corridor when I suddenly bumped into. someone, but before I could fall, I was held by a pair of arms. Aiden’s pine tree scent wafted through my nose as a fresh stream of tears escaped my eyes. I grabbed him around his neck and cried.
Why were the twins so rude to me from time to time again?
What have I ever done, or what have they ever had a chance to hear that gave them the right to accuse me of something I’m not constantly? How could I like someone like that when they both did nothing but ridicule me nowadays? What was so wrong with being friends with Aiden and the other guys but not JJ and Rex? And, back then, they didn’t even like JJ; I was a kid then and hadn’t picked up their attitude towards him, but now when I look back, it’s blatant as day how much they didn’t like him either but couldn’t say anything as they had no grounds and we were children.
“Kiki, what’s wrong? Please tell me. Did someone hurt you?” Asked Aiden frantically.
You could hear the worry in his voice. And the twins thought he was a bad person. Huh, sure, he isn’t the one implying I was something that I wasn’t. His words made me cry even harder as I grabbed him tighter.
“Please say something, kiki..” but before he could finish what he was saying, I cut him off.
“They always do this, they always do this, then they expect me to be fine with them. How is that fair, do my feelings not matter? And then they go a parade around…” however, I caught myself before I could finish what I was saying.
What the hell? Was I more upset about what they claimed I was or that they didn’t bother coming after me as I ran out and were probably doing goddess knows what with those two girls?
Yeah, I had never seen them hold their hands or even kiss them, but it didn’t take a genius to know who those girls were to the twins and what activities they did behind closed doors.
“What are you saying, Kiki? I don’t understand. Just tell me who it was, and I’ll handle it.” Said Aiden
I sniffed as my tears dried. Aiden was so caring. He reminded me so much of JJ. And as much as I appreciated him for going and trying to protect me, it wasn’t like he could do anything to the twins, and on top

of that, knowing him, he’ll get himself in trouble and probably be kicked out of the program, which I couldn’t have. He was a future alpha and was supposed to return here when he turned seventeen for hist alpha training. A removal from a program would be a disgrace to his position and name. Sniffling and rubbing my eye with my palms, I pulled back from Aiden and gave him a small smile.
“Nothing serious A, I just miss home a lot, and with how things have been stressful, it just got to me,” I said.
I hated lying, especially to the ones I was close to, but the scenario demanded it. From the looks of it, I knew Aiden didn’t believe me; just as he was about to call me out on my god–awful drama, Gamma Chris came over and called out for me.
Kayden POV:
“F*ck.” I cursed out loud the moment my sweet mate ran out.
“Kayden, baby.” Ava or Eve, whatever the f*ck this bitch’s name was, tried calling out to me.
I snarled in her direction, as did Jayden to the other girl whose name I didn’t even know, I just knew she was one of the council members‘ daughters.
It had been five years since we had found our mate, and everything had changed after that. She came into my and Jayden’s life as a little ball of

energy with her Disney obsession which, lowkey, I still think she had. She made everything beautiful; just her presence was like ice to our burning hearts, we saw her grow from an intellectual little she–wolf to now a soon–to–be warrior of the kingdom, and for that, Jayden and I couldn’t be more proud. However, we’re both idiots as well, always going and hurting our sweet Kiara, and if it kept going like this, I was scared we might lose her before actually having her. Jayden’s snarls broke me out of the thought of our beautiful mate.
“Get out.” Jayden snarled at the two she–wolfs.
His aura rushed out that had Tim even bare his neck. The girl’s knees buckled, and they fell to the floor. If it weren’t for Tim grabbing them and throwing them out, they would’ve probably cried right there with how pissed Jayden’s aura was radiating off him.
