Chapter 32
‘t have much to say to each other on the way back to Moonery Every now and then, Ed catch him looking

the early put exchanged pheasantries and stuck to the path
Sometimes could wase that Jeremy wanted to say something che or ask me something, but he never did. I didn’t offer any
wination wither.
I would be too weird for Jeremy to go from hating me to apologising so quickly. We still didn’t know what had happened. I couldn’t even entertain forgiving him or accepting his apology until I knew that Helen really wasn’t an obstacle anymore.
When we get back to Mosonery, the first people that saw us screamed and can off
Was that because I’m back from exile, or you’re back from the dead?” I asked, glancing at Jeremy.
He sighed and shrugged, clearly not in the mood for jokes.
Zer’s and your dad. He’ll have some insight,” I suggested
“He’s not here. He’s away on diplomatic meetings.” Jeremy grumbled.
I nodded and kept my head down
Jeremy was in a mood and nothing I could say or do would make a difference. He might not know who I was anymore, but I
still knew who he was
Despite turning against me, he hadn’t really changed. He was still loyal and protective, only toward Helen. I’d always known who he was, though
We got to Jeremy’s house and the doorman gaped at us.
“Master Jeremy?” he asked, breathlessly. “Wh-what…how are you here?”
“I need to talk to the council,” Jeremy insisted.
“Right away But.. why is Nora with you, she’s an exiled, confirmed spy,” the doorman said.
Jeremy shook his head. “She’s married to the Lycan King, remember. The exile doesn’t hold.”
“The King isn’t here. We don’t need to abi d e by his rulings,” the doorman argued. He glared at me and crossed his arms.
Just let us in!” Jeremy growled, leaning in to glare at the doorman.
He swallowed hard and opened the door, stepping back for both of us to go inside.
I immediately picked up the familiar scent of the house I’d grown up in. Sighing, I closed my eyes and savored the moment. of returning home. It wasn’t really my home anymore, but it still felt familiar.
“Don’t worry, Nora, I’m not going to let the council do anything to you this time,” Jeremy said, pulling me from my thoughts
I gave him a grateful smile and nodded.
We went straight to the council chamber where all the elders were in session. They seemed frenzied and sc at t e r e d. Probably trying to figure out what to do with the death of the heir and his mate agreeing to marry someone else.
All the elders turned to stare at him.
J-Jeremy?”
“You’re alive?”
“What happened?”
“Why are you with her?”
“She’s not supposed to be here!”
Jeremy held up his hands to stop the questions.
I stayed close to his side. If anyone came after me, Jeremy would protect me. I knew he would, out of guilt if nothing else
“I’ll explain everything later. For now, just know that I’m alive and I’m here to set everything right he assured.
“And Nora?” one of the elders asked, glaring at me.
“She’s not a spy. She was framed. I have proof of that, which I will share with you when the time is right. For now, just ne me and know that Nora is supposed to be my mate.”
Inwardly, I groaned. Why was he telling everyone we were mates? We hadn’t talked about that. I hadn’t even accepted his apology!
“What?”
“How is that possible?”
The room was in an uproar again. Voices rose in volume. The elders pointed at me and pointed at Jeremy
With a snarl and a sharp look, Jeremy got them all to go silent. Slowly, each of the council members sat down in their chairs.
“Helen stole Nora’s wolf. It doesn’t matter if you believe it or not. It is the truth. As the heir to Moonery, trust me and my way on this,” he insisted.
“Jeremy, this is a lot for us to take in and accept. She was exiled, a spy, and the Lycan King’s queen”
“And now she is home, where she belongs. Nora is meant to be my mate, and I want all of you to start treating her like the future Luna. Spread the word to the rest of the pack, too. She is no longer a criminal or an enemy, she is one of us again? Jeremy stated firmly.
There was a murmur of acceptance through the elders.
My stomach fl*pped backward and I looped my arms around myself. Jeremy was moving things too fast, already declaring me his future Luna. I had to talk to him about that before it gets out of control,
It was my rightful place, but I wasn’t even sure I wanted it anymore. Not after everything I’d been through because of him and Helen. Not after Blake…
“Now, we’ve got to get cleaned up. Send word to my father that I’m not dead and that I’m safely home and need to speak with him immediately,” he added.
Jeremy and I left the council room together.
“You shouldn’t have done that,” I said, shaking my head as Jeremy and I walked toward my old bedroom.
“Done what?” he asked, flashing me a joyful smile.

Told them that we were meant to be mates and that I was the future Luna,” I said.
95%
I kept my arms looped around my stomach. It was churning and rumbling all over the place and Blake kept popping into my head.
Blake wasn’t my mate. Jeremy was. Why was I so resistant to return to the place I knew I belonged? Jeremy and I were fated to be together.
“It is the truth, though. You’re home with me now. We should get married like we originally planned before Helen got in the way. This is where you belong and we should be together,” he said. He reached forward and touched my cheek.
Shaking my head, I pulled away. “Jeremy, I haven’t loved you in a long time.”
“Please, Nora, give this a chance. It is finally time for us to have what we are meant to have,” he said. He grabbed my hands and brought them to his l*ps, k*ssing my fingers gently.
My heart fluttered and I gasped. It was hard to ignore the fact that we were really meant to be together.
I didn’t love him as I had before but we still had a lot of history and the Moon Goddess had fated us to be together. I wasn’t going back to Blake, at this point.
“This is our time. Give me a chance. I can almost guarantee that you’re going to fall in love with me again. It was fated by the Moon Goddess,” he pointed out.
“Jeremy, I don’t know. There’s still too much we have to sort through. I don’t even know if I belong here anymore,” I admitted, shrugging slightly.
“You belong with me. We should be mates and I want to prove that to you. Give me a chance. I haven’t truly had the chance to be a good mate to you,” he pleaded.
His eyes were soft and I thought he might cry if I refused him.
There was a part of me that still wanted to know what life I could have had if Helen hadn’t gotten in the reason I felt different toward Jeremy was because of her. Maybe I could love him again.

“Alright, I’ll give you a chance,” I said, giving him a coy smile.
