Declan's POV

Ashford Remington Woods...

The name that would hurt me for the rest of my life. He is my father and I used to look up to him, I trusted him with all my heart and I did everything he ever asked me to do. He trained me so hard and sometimes he hurts me because he wanted me to be perfect, he wanted me to be just like him. At first, I loved him for it, I loved the fact that he is trying so hard to mak me a strong warrior, I wanted so much to be like him because I idolize him.

Then the war started...

I was only twenty-four years old when it all started, I was too young to understand what was going on, I spent my free time with my friends, partying and clubbing, and I paid less attention to what was happening around me, I couldn't care less. King Dominic exposed his treachery and tried to get him to stop killing our people but my father went all furious with him and he tried to kill him as well. But Dominic was too smart to be taken down so easily. He got away and he waged war against my father, trying to get him to rethink his decision and turn around to do what was right.

I only heard about them falling out from whispers on the street, a d when I confronted my father about it, but he wasn't forthcoming with the details, so I let it go because I knew he was a great king and I knew he could handle the situation. I wa: t00 stupid to see what was going on around me, my mother was in bondage for years and I knew nothing about it absolutely nothing. I was throwing one of my parties in the lycan Palace one day, and my friends and I were having fun as usual. Then my fiancee decided to explore the palace. We were making out in one of the guest rooms, or so I thought. The booze was legit, we got the good stuff. I had no idea that it was the guestroom next to my parent's room, I was too drunk to notice my surrounding. Then my fiancee alerted me to the sounds coming from the next room. I sobered up when I realized that something weird was going on in the next room. It sounded like my mom and she was calling out for help. My first impulse was to run out and call for help, but Katie held me back, she suggested that we snoop around and find out what was going on. I know she was only fooling around, she loved adventure and I actually thought that she wanted to fool around as usual, but she wasn't kidding around this time, she looks so serious, more serious than I've ever seen her. So I let obliged her and let her lead the way. She led me through the vents and we crawled for a few minutes, then she stopped and gestured for me to watch what was happening in my parent's room.

I got the shock of my life when I saw my father screwing another woman right in front of my mother, I witness the worst humiliation that a man could give to a woman that he claims to be his mate. It was so unbelievable. He let off some steam with the blonde b***h he was screwing, then he came over and tortured my mom, beating her like a f*****g slave, warning her never to steal his potions ever again. I have no F*****g idea what he is talking about, I don't know what his potions are but I'm guessing he values them more than my mom because he hurt her because of it. I was about to jump out of the vents and defend my mother, but Katie held me back and told me that my father would kill me and kill her as well if he finds out that I know the truth about him.

“Your mom will explain everything to you later, she only wants you to see this for yourself so you would know the kind of monster your father is" She explained to me, making me squint my eyes in confusion as I kept trying to figure out exactly what was going on in this palace. I was angry, and I had so many questions, but I had to wait patiently for my mom to tell me everything. It was at noon the next day that she finally came to see me. I had so many questions, I wanted to know what was going on in this place. I wished I did not ask her to tell me the truth, I wish I didn't find out everything about my father. My whole life changed after that revelation.

It turns out that my mom was blackmailed into submission. I found out about his potions and their uses. If I had not seen m father last night, I would never have believed anything my mom told me because it sounded so stupid, it was simply unbelievable. My mom was under the influence of one of his potions, and it turned her into his puppet, making her do anything he wants. It was one of her personal maids that snuck in a cure for her. All these months, my father had no idea that she had been cured, it gave her the chance to uncover will his secrets and share them with the lycan sentinels and generals that could overthrow my father. They planned to go up against him, but somehow, my father discovered that my mum has been stealing and hoarding the cure to his mind control potion. She knows that she may not have the chance to lead the generals and Sentinels, that is why she needs me to come on board with their plans. She took me to a secret meeting and I met with the generals and Sentinels, and they convinced me to lead them to fight against my father. I didn't need any more convincing, I have seen what he is capable of, the evidence is staring at my face, so I know I have to take him out. We held our meetings in secret and we set our plans in motion. Everything was going exactly as we planned,

We had no idea that m father had delved into black magic and that he had used the potion on my mom again. This time, there was no way to help her because he made sure that none of us finds out about it. She came to our secret meetings as usual, and she reported back to my father, spilling our secrets to him. She helped us plan our mission, but in truth, she was leading us right into his trap. On the deal day, we got ambushed by my father and he killed all the generals and Sentinels that were against him. He only spared me because I am his son and if he kills his only son, the people would turn against him. I know he regretted keeping me alive when he found it that I am the only one that can kill him, I guess that is why he made sure that I couldn't lift a finger against him. But he used a special potion on me and had me locked up in my room. To spite me even more, he used his newfound magic on my girlfriend and he brought her into the palace and kicked my mom out of the room, and replaced her with my fiancee. I couldn't lift a finger against him, I just stayed in that room like a f***g vegetable. I had hate in me, I was f*****g angry, but that is all I could do, I was too useless to help anyone.

All that changed when one of my generals that survived the ambush found a way to sneak in the cure time. He told me I still have allies, but this time, I needed to be smart about it so I don't get outsmarted by my father again. I have been secretly trying to kill my father. One tried using assassins to assassinate him, but it never worked. It was several years later that I got to find out that I am the only weapon that can kill my father. I tried to get in touch with King Dominic, I tried to ally with him so we could put an end to my father's tyranny together, but he doesn't trust me enough and he refused to listen to me. Well he didn't listen until now. He finally gave me a chance to prove to him that we are on the same side, but it seems our coalition came at the wrong time. I just got to know that the new girl that my father brought to his chambers is actually king Dominic's mate.

Iwas informed by my guys that my father was en route with a werewolf I was preparing to get back into character and resume my pretense, but I got a call from Dominic and he told me about his mate that is missing. I knew immediately that it is the girl that my father is bringing here and bi knew that I have to help her, but there is no way that I can save her without exposure. For years now, I have been sneaking around in this palace, trying to avoid my father's loyal warriors. I could not save my mom without raising suspicion, I could only check up on her and I carried out my operations in secret. I sent one of my guys to drop a message with her and assure her that her man is coming to save her. I can't let her know that I am also working on a plan to save her, she could spill it out to him because she will be under his control. While I come up with a pla to save her, I also need to find out what my father is up to. From the information I'm getting, he seems too excited to be bac home. I'm guessing that it has something to do with his plans and I'm hoping to find out what he is planning before itis too late.
