Chapter 16
Abbygail’s point of view:
“Well, it took me a while to understand all of the strengths and weaknesses for wolves, but in the end, I believe I made my system a perfectly well-suited one, for any incoming attack of rogues. Are there any questions?” I asked, while looking into the camera at the top of my laptop.
I was having a presentation about my security system and had a total of thirty-six important werewolves logged into it. They were scattered all around the world so we decided to do this digitally, which only suited me more.
I felt less out in the open like this, so more comfortable talking about my passion, and it seems that everyone I was talking to, felt the same way.
They asked some interesting questions which I could answer pretty easily, and they became very impressed by the total package.
“Is your Alpha there with you?” An old man with a French accent asked me, and Scott heard the question and stepped in front of the camera, keeping his head next to me. “Alpha Williams, I think that when I say that I’m mildly impressed by your mate, the rest of my colleagues would disagree. Your Luna is wonderfully equipped with a very intelligent brain, and I’m only hoping that she would share the ideas of her security system with the rest of us.” The man smiled deeply and even bowed in respect towards his camera.
I took a few chips from the yellow bag of cheese-onion delicacy and waited for Scott to have replied.
“I couldn’t agree with you more. She has used that intelligent brain of hers to trick me on more than one occasion. So, I would be proud if she could have the honour of sharing it with the rest of our kind.” Scott replied and the others started to laugh at that comment.
“I’ll see you soon then.” The man replied and also showed the initials A, B and E, in sign language, and my jaw dropped.
The other participants hadn’t noticed for him to be doing that, as some were already logging off, or just stayed on to want to ask their questions. But I didn’t want to respond to his silent statement as that part and past is still my own, and even though I wondered how he got to find out, I’m not willing to ask him while others were listening on it too.
“I’m sorry you all, but the connection is getting difficult, if you have any further questions, please send me an e-mail!” I said before hitting the cancel button and closing down the link to all of them.
“Call him!” I commanded Scott and he instantly dialled the number on his phone.
“I figured you would call me after I did that.” The man answered after Scott put it on speaker.
“Tell me how you found out, because I don’t like it!” I yelled and Scott looked confused my way.
“Don’t worry Luna Williams, your secret is safe with me. I just wanted to let you know, that your grandfather is very proud of what you have become.” He replied and I gasped.
“What is your name?” I asked him.
“Alpha John Erignac.” He replied and my face paled. “I’m sorry, for my late son to have treated you this bad when you were young. I didn’t know of your existence for a long time and assumed for you to be dead. But I’m a smart man, little girl, and even though you hid yourself well, I came to know about you.” The old man said and I fell silent.
I didn’t know what to make of this. My father is dead but I still have a grandfather?
“But your last name isn’t Erignac, is it?” Scott asked me.
“No, it hasn’t been for quite some time. But before I became the person I am today, yes, my name was Abbygail Beatrice Erignac.” I said while lowering my face in shame.
“Don’t worry my child, you will never be named by that name again. I know you changed it, because of what happened to you, so I will never blame you for doing it. All I’m asking is that I’m more than willing to get to know you, if you’ll let me.” The old voice spoke and it nearly broke my heart.
“Oui grand-père, j’aimerais beaucoup.” (Yes grandfather, I would like that very much.)
“And she speaks French! Are you having any more secrets, my love?” Scott chuckled and held me tight.
“Maybe…” I dragged that out in a sing-song voice at which my grandfather laughed.
“We will talk later.” He said as he hung up the phone.
“I’m going to fuck you senseless if you don’t tell me what’s more up your sleeve!” Scott said as he lifted me from the chair, taking me over towards the bed.
“Fuck away cowboy, because I ain’t gonna tell you!” I said in a southern accent. “Yeehaw!”
But wait… if my grandfather is an Alpha werewolf… doesn’t that mean that I’m a…
No way!
I need some whiskey now!
