Chapter 6
I could see and feel how overwhelmed she was and I didn't want to scare her away. "How can this be? First your just a man in my dreams, then a man I meet by chance at a club and now your here in front of me, telling me your the man I've been dreaming of." Gosh, the way she explained it, makes it sounds like a bad movie. I can see the torment in her eyes but it is exactly as she says. I begin to explain to Luna how we can use mind travel and connect, but only vampires with heightened skills can do this. She quizzes me over all the events that have unfolded over the last few days and I share as much as I can. The Halflings (simply named that as they are not full vampires) noticed her in the club and stalked her from there. I had followed too that night but kept my distance, ensuring she was safe at all times and then also being keep my eye on her when I could. She asked me more about last night and without going into the gorey details, I explained that they would never bother her again and hope it served as a warning to any others. I could feel and hear her heartbeat starting to slow down as she began to relax. I watched her as she walked towards her little kitchen, grabbing a wine glass from a shelf and filling it to the brim with whatever was in the bottle she grabbed out of the fridge. "I'm sorry. I don't want to scare you or overwhelm you at all. I just wanted to make sure you were safe.". She simply nodded at me and took a big gulp from the glass. "Shall I leave?". I said with a small sigh. She looked up at me and stared for a moment. "No. Please. I just don't know what to think right now. You have no idea how many times I have wished for you to be here when I wake up from my dreams and now I have no idea what to make of all this.". My heart broke a little but I understood. It might be too much to take in and for now I am just happy enjoying this brief moment with her. I couldn't help but stare at her. Her beautiful light olive skin, her silken blond her falling gently around her face, her stunning blue eyes. And although she was wearing baggy clothes, I could faintly make out her curves and heavenly shape. I just needed a moment to take it all in. I had finally found her and I wasn't letting her go that easily.
We sat on her balcony by the window for a while. She questioned me about being a vampire. More in particular, my story. We discussed my origins and my family. I didn't go into too much detail but told her I had siblings and a Mother and Father. I was a pure blood, true Vampire, from a long line of vampires. We discussed other beings. Yes there are werewolves and witches as well. She asked about my family - both human and vampire. She was so inquisitive and I loved the conversation. Yet, was hesitant to go into too much detail. Humans don't feel things like we do, or understand things on a level we do. We discussed my special abilities and my ability to move from one place to another. I had to explain it to her that it has to be a place I am familiar with and I have to be close by. I couldn't disappear from here to the other side of the world for instance. We discussed most vampires have a special abilities, some more than one. I had asked her similar questions and noticed her energy sparked as we talked about her younger days of swimming and playing with ice and water. There was truly something special and magical about her. I even thought for a second I saw a flash of silver light up her eyes as she talked. I could feel her heartbeat speed up and her energy grow and just as she did, it began to rain on us. We both jumped up and made a dash for inside to escape the rain. Shaking ourselves off and laughing about it. The rain begin to lighten up, as I watched her walk over to her armchair and pull a knitted blanket up to around her chin. Her heartbeat calming and I swear I saw a sigh of relief. I leant against the wall by the window and just observed her. It was well into the early hours of the morning, yet it seemed like the time had gone by in a few minutes. "I still don't truly understand why this has all happened. I mean I'm sitting her chatting with a vampire. And to be honest, I'm not that phased about it.". Oh the things this girl had to learn. We are not all this way and if it wasn't for the connection I have with her, she could very well be my next meal. Some vampires don't see humans as anything less than a meal or a "blood bag" as we call them. Some even keep them as pets. I have had a few pets in my time but have always released them. I didn't much like the thought of owning a human pet and Luna would never be such a thing to me. "Be careful Luna. I don't want you misjudging my kind. Just because you meet one nice and handsome vampire, doesn't mean that they all are." I let out a chuckle as I could see the sass rising in her facial expression, with her hand placed on her hip, she flicked her hair over her should. "Oh I'm sure you lot are a dime a dozen." I let out a chuckle at her as she walked away, swaying her hips.
I wanted to make the most out of my time with her. I could spend eternity with her, having moments like this, but I could feel the first stings of the morning sun on the back of my neck. I inched away, trying to find more cover but it only lasted for a moment or two. I stood up, getting ready to take my leave. "I must leave now.". Not wanting to end this time with her. "No, no. Not yet. I still have so many questions!". Her inquisitiveness left an aching in me but if I didn't leave now I would not make it back to house in time. "Trust me, I do not want to leave. But I must. Unfortunately I have duties that must be fulfilled tomorrow but I will return as quickly as I can. Don't you need to work in a few hours?". She shook her head, explaining the boss gave her a few days off. I smiled, at the thought of having more time to spend with her. "OK I shall return when I can. Or maybe I will send a car for you instead". Her face puzzled at that. "I want to take you somewhere.". She smiled, her beautiful blue eyes sparkling in the early morning light.
